Disaster Alert в Android Market

Disaster Alert (v. 2.2)

Disaster Alert (by PDC), Active Hazards on an interactive
map and in a list as they are occurring around the globe.
Additional hazard information can be viewed and shared.

The term "Active Hazards" refers to a collection of current and real-time incidents (compiled from authoritative sources) which have been designated "potentially hazardous to people, property, or assets" by the PDC DisasterAWARE™ application.

The application is a free download.

PDC Active Hazards currently includes:
-Hurricane/Tropical Cyclone (global)
-Earthquake (global)
-Flood (global)
-National Weather Service High Surf (for Hawaii)
-National Weather Service High Wind (for Hawaii)
-National Weather Service Flood (for Hawaii)
-Manmade (global)
-Marine (global)
-Storm (global)
-Tsunami (global)
-Volcano (global)
-Wildfire (global)- coming soon!

Other hazards will be added over time.

Application features include:
√ View Active Hazards on an interactive map or in the Alert list
√ Search for location (quick zoom)
√ Choose background map
√ Get "more info" for most Active Hazards
√ Receive automatic updates every five minutes
√ Choose a preferred time zone

Not accurate!! A fire in Las Vegas has been raging for a week now. Federal funding, Red Cross, evacuations all involved. 1st ranking in the US but its not showing on this app. Maybe fun but dont bet your life on it!!

too much information It's a great program, however, I am really only interested in MY area, not the whole world. I was horrified when I had 11 alerts, just after and earthquake off the coast, but they were all for other places. Some kind of filter would be a great asset.

Good! But needs tweaks! Here's my suggestion. Developers should categorize disasters seperately rather than showing them on a single screen. Users can then check the Maps for specific disasters themselves.

Seems to have good content, but late Nice views and comprehensive, but need to be able to syort by time, or type of disaster, or intensity. Also the push notifications seem late, often more than a day, and sometimes a week after the event.

Data collection by stealth Bizarre permissions - app collects data on all "known accounts" linked to your phone. Why? How does this relate to a basic disaster alert service? What noseyparker outfit is collecting all this user info and for what purpose?

The way things are going you may want to add a new disaster logo/label for those inexplicable disasters and major critical incidents that Mankind cannot scientifically explain. The logo should be named: "WRATH" with the numbers 777 clearly seen in the logo. But you better hurry, God is just warming up!

Filter by size of event (Quakes/storms) geolocation of the event (where it is in relation to you). I would love to set it up so I get push notifications about events near me but I don't want notifications about events halfway around the world. If I want to know about those I can look them up easily enough in the app or on the web. Right now it just alerts you about everything under the sun and you get de-sensitized to it. Would also be nice to be able to set up pull notification so you can minimize battery use by having it pull on a 2 or 3 or even 24hr schedule rather than having it constantly ping the 'net for status updates.

Disappointed Installed this app based on reviews. When went to exit app, found Android had locked up. This not happen with any other app have installed. Restarted android and open app again. Device had locked up again. Not get much opportunity to use, but saw info could be beneficial. Plan to check app again when this problem fixed. Uninstalled app for now.

Nice app. Helped in 2011 Japan Tsunami Disaster Apps works pretty well. Zooming features are not as intuitive as I expected, and I find myself looking at the whole world instead of a particular region by accidently misgesturing.

Sadly won't work on Samsung This is a great app unfortunately it only half fills the display on the Samsung Galaxy S2 & the Samsung galaxy tab 7.7 both running ICS. The developer is very responsive & honest about this issue. I hope that it will be resolved one day soon.

Disaster alert This is a great app but wish you could get severe weather update alerts for your area. Like audioable alert sounds. In your outdoors and not near a tv or radio.
