The most feature complete northern lights app for Android!

UPDATING BUG IS NOW FIXED.

This app gives you updates and alerts for the short-term Aurora Borealis (and Aurora Australis) forecast from the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute. Great for knowing when to get outside to see the northern lights.

You can also view the most recent satellite data for both the North and South poles, as well as the most recent short term predictions on a map for 5 areas:

Alaska
North America
Europe
North Polar
South Polar

Waste of money A waste of money. Weather doesn't work. Kp alerts don't work even when it's set very low and for ever 15 minutes. Irritated that I spent the money on this app.

Wait for higher rating Kp does not update. Has had Kp at 3.0 from USAF for 3 days now. Sat image from NOAA POES is updating correctly. Please fix.

Good as a free app. Don't buy! Saw the best show of lights ever... thanks. But all I this information/images and more are being taken from a website. swpc.noaa.gov. So really not worth paying for! Except for the automated notification - nothing new here.

Missed events It does not seem to stay up to date on the current conditions, but usually lags a couple of days behind. The image of the auroral oval seems to be stuck in 1 position rather than changing with the conditions, even when Aurora buddy notifies you via notification bar of a strong event.

I Downloaded this instead of Pro I downloaded the pro version first, but refunded it because of: The Pro: Could not get location: (Yes, my GPS is on) The Pro: Could not get weather update (can not remember exact, but it was something like that) (Yes, I have internet access) So I refunded it and downloaded this app instead. I have kept the pro if it had worked. My 5 star rating is for this app with less features, but at least it works as announced :)

I have moto droid original... if i clear my notifications bar when AB is in it, AB will no longer grab updated data. Otherwise love this app!
