Using 1:250,000 Ordnance Survey road atlas mapping, this app lets you explore Britain in three dimensions. There's a demo video on YouTube - search for "UK Map 3D".
The map data is downloaded when the app is first run (reliable WiFi connection recommended); subsequently no network connection is needed.
Coverage includes all of England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man, but not Northern Ireland (sorry).
In 2D mode you can use the app like other map viewers - pan around and zoom in and out using the normal 1 and 2-finger gestures. Use the GPS to show your current location and the compass to rotate the map. You can also display the grid reference at the centre of the screen.
When you touch the 3D button, the view is transformed to three dimensions. Use the sliders at the sides of the screen to change the altitude of your viewpoint and to turn left, right, up and down. You can zoom in and out in 3D mode, but it's normally better to move closer rather than to zoom in.
Important: Hardware Compatibility: This app is not compatible with all devices due to variations in graphics hardware. Devices with Imagination Technologies PowerVR graphics, which includes most Motorola and Samsung phones and the Samsung Galaxy Tab, are known to work. Devices with the Nvidia Tegra and Qualcomm Adrino 200 chips, which include the HTC Desire and the Toshiba AC100, only work in 2D mode. Feedback about other devices would be much appreciated.

Note that this app has different functionality than the iPhone version.
