[2013-01-03] A Google User: Must have |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Not bad Needs background downloading for offline data. |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: Excellent value Works very well for its price |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Very good navigator This has got a lot better since they added the option to find non optimal routes on long distances. It can also work entirely offline which is great for navigating in low signal areas. Good choice of renders for the maps, detail as you want. Very customizable with the navigation modes. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: The best navigation OpenSource app |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Best on the market This is the best offline Navigation on the Market so far. A bit slow for rendering, but good anyway. Nice map and application updates so far. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Must have app, for any android phone or tab with GPS. I honor you!!, from the average, but good, offroad applications, now you've done a miracle (from version 1.0) - a fantastic full featured navigation application that can be used for navigation in the car, but also for excursions to nature - walking, hiking and so...! Best money spent so far! |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Keeps getting better! Previous review gave this app 5 stars, and I'm keeping that score for this version (1.1.0). I only want to add that the constant improvements prove that this is still a fantastic product. I especially like the measuring tool (enable under Plugin Manager) and the speed and clarity on both my TF700. Well done to the devs. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Great app Best map app on google play. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Bad choice of color for navigation route line. Navigation line alternates between blue and orange, depending on light sensor. Unfortunately, both colors are used for many major roads too. Making them disappear, depending on light sensor. Which makes it hard to follow the route at times. Why not use something like a thick broken line? Or maybe some bright shade of green? The route line needs to be very distinct and easily visible at all times to be effective. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Excellent! Use it frequently and it works very well. Very low price for the fully featured version. |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Map indexes no longer supported |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Best GPS for the money bar none. |
[2012-12-18] A Google User: Lose Yourself... ... and then get back again. Brilliant app and service! |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Useless now It was working before but now after update it's became useless |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: Well worth buying. This is the best navigation app I have seen in a long time. Makes these $60 navigation apps look like scams. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Love it - except the Colour scheme. My goto nav app for the 3rd world. l love Osmond+ and give you 5 stars but please offer alternate colour scheme for night as it's like eating Spaggheti on acid. |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Love the offline maps One of the best OpenStreetMap maps on Android. Frequently-updated offline maps take it a level above other mapping applications. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Works well Takes a bit too much tinkering to figure it all out. I like that you can add TomTom voices! |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Best android nav program easily Map detail good, offline searching makes it better than google offline. Native (offline) routing continues to improve. Only suggestion I have is make crowd sourced updates to maps easier. Thank you, and I am gald I paid for your program! |
[2012-11-22] A Google User: Completely wrecked a good program I paid for this. I was useful, especially in Asia. The last two versions are catastrophically bad. FC's, failure to compute and display a route. Absolute and utter trash. |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: Beste maps ever |
[2012-11-21] A Google User: Simply the best Bought it and never regret |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Great piece of software 100% useful and functional. Helped me in so many difficult traffic situations. I'm waiting for next features :-) |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Pretty useless for me. Car navigation doesn't work In most cases it cannot create route from the current location (It doesn't matter whether I'm on the road or near to it) reporting "Cannot find route from the start point 0.0km". If I try to select both start and end point manually and choose just "Show" it creates a track successfully, but it's impossible to try following it: OsmAnd do not take any attempts to recalculate such track if I leave it. I use offline OsmAnd routing service. Have no idea what the real cause of such behavior - software bug or the my region map bad quality. But the only case I can use the software is just for looking at the map. |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Very good offline and online mapping This is the offline map and navigation app that I use and recommend. Offline search and navigation work well but user interface is sometimes confusing. I like being able to switch between offline maps and multiple online map providers, and I often use the transparent overlay feature. Map downloads are too large e.g. all of Africa instead of one country at a time. Partial downloads do not resume, you have to restart. It's been six months since they broke all my downloaded maps so back to 5 stars. |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Amazing app The one that makes a good use of publicly available OSM data. Contains all essential features I was looking for. Highly recommended. |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Awesome.. Bst offline map. |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Don't forget offline wikipedia Fully functional, Powerful, flexible navigation system. Offline Wiki adds great search capability. CloudMade online navigation is great for planning long trips. OsmAnd (offline) works great at shorter distance (below 100 miles?) |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Worth Every Penny! This App just blew me away one of the best apps I have ever downloaded although there is room for improvements but I know it's bound to come so Keep up the good work and keep those updates and developments coming. Will definitely tell all my friends and relatives to download this. |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Slow rendering Excellent app, however rendering is slowish for vector maps (and even some raster maps). Otherwise, works amazingly well. |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: Great offline nav app Works like a charm, the offline maps are really handy, I tried the free version first and liked it so much that I upgraded to the plus version which is a bargan |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: . А нельзя ли убрать "спасибо Яндексу....", всплывающее при каждом перемещении карты даже когда онлайн карты отключены вообще? |
[2012-11-02] A Google User: The most comprehensive mapping app This is by far the best mapping app for Android. It offers a cornucopia of genuinely useful features, including offline maps, POIs, directions, powerful search capabilities, and much more. |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Just great - and open source! A good project, worth spending some euros on! |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Tried a lot ... Vector maps are downloaded automatically. It even navigates me on single trails with my MTB. No crashes, simple. Track recording could be improved. Thumbs up. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Amazing It took me a long time and several attempts to find a decent offline GPS for travelling etc. This one is so much better than anything else I tried. Used it on my previous InterRail trip and never got lost. Unfortunately some maps (such as California) were rather slow on HTC wildfire S, but luckily it got stolen and my new Motorola Atrix runs Osmand+ very smoothly. I used the free version at first, but wikipedia POI and unlimited map download were very much worth the ridiculously low price. If there is a better product on the market I would be surprised. |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Thom I used osmand+ 0.8.3 beta on my samsung galaxy s 2 and is working great curently I change my phone to galaxy note 2 the sounds stopping every seconds and the map car is moving slow. Please send me a patch to correct the osmand+ apps on my phone its a users friendly. Please help me. thompson.bernil@gmail.com |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Great Tracks work well |
[2012-10-16] A Google User: The best for almost free ! I have used most of the mainline GPS software and they all have the same limitation....their maps only cover version regions. Well this app covers all regions and countries, has good poi database and the routing has proved to be reliable. It doesn't get much better than this! |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Excellent for off road adventure Love this app on my nexus 7! |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Best GPS offline app I have found A real GPS is still the best, but Osmand is getting very close and far the best offline app I have found. It is quite easy to learn to use, and have many nice features and lot of maps. Challenges: * It can take very long time to find the satellite position, it is therefore a good ide also to install gps finders like GPSFix, GPS status or GPS Test. * Some times Osmand can not find a given street in address search even though the street is on the map. Normally it helps to search by zip code instead of City. * It would be very good if it was possible to search for a street name in a hole country instead of only a specific city. Osmand guys keep up the good work. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Great implementation Really nice app and great implementation of OSM. Used it to navigate while in Japan for a month, really a great help. So much detail it is good for walking too. Adding favourites works very well. Keep up the great work! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Just the Best Tried few different nav apps and finally found what I was looking for! Just the best on the market! |
[2012-10-07] A Google User: Me Like Using it for 2 years and thanks to offline maps, a must have app for vacations. |
[2012-10-05] A Google User: Finally I have been waiting for this since the first time I got my first Android phone. This is totally going to be very useful in my survey work. Thanks for making it affordable for some of us. ^o^ |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Best offlin_e satnav on the market and it is being given away at this price. |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: S Man patinka |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Great The best |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Doesn't work Improves slowly. Still unusable at 512 MByte RAM devices. OK for 1GB ones. |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Almost best I'm using it for half a year now, osm coverage is great, offline nav works with only small quirks, it really works. My #1 nav app now. |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: not ready yet I want all functions by google maps. |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Awesome update! "Avoid motorways " is THE feature I've been waiting for. Can't get much better feature wise in my case. |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: great one |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Great app, but... A few things Id like to see added to make it perfect: direction only from compass readings, faster re-routing when you get off the initially suggested route, and improved offline navigation (weird suggestions way too often, especially for cyclists). This app hasnt yet reached its first major release, so keep up the good work, devs! |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Wow Simply the best offline mapping solution for vector and raster maps. It works wonderfully well in my galaxy nexus. Thank you OSMAND team. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: The best. I searched for an off line navigation app for some time, many tried, but failed. This one is superior, cannot fault it. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Rekomenduoju Puiki programa. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: 5 it's getting better with every new release. well done! |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Simply the best It's the best navigation app for android. It can route and show maps both using online services and with offline (vector!) maps. Moreover, it's open source and allows you to record your trip. I use it for foot and car directions with no problems. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Just wonderful With the last update it become quite prefect. it still needs 3d navigation, but it is great, and fastest then ever! |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Excellent There were problems with offline routing that are solved now. Simply the best osm program. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Best OSM map out there, New version (0.8.3) renders faster, routing is okay, only settings screen used to be more to my liking in old version. |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Superb open source crowd sources software Could do with a little polish, and the menus are a bit confusing, but this is streets ahead of Google navigation in terms of detail. |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Waypoints Just the thing that I missed the most is added in latest release - waypoints. Keep up the good work |
[2012-09-23] A Google User: Isn't navigating We need more commercial open source software like this but it doesn't seem to be working |
[2012-09-22] A Google User: Best pedestrian navigation At least for those places where OSM data has all footpaths (like Helsinki), the 'shortest' route option is the best pedestrian navigation I've used on Android. What's more, it's offline. |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Supporter Thanks, after one year of using and experiencing the free version I decided to buy. Very good app. |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: Велл! Задел огромный. Го ещё есть над чем работать. |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: great works well, nav has improved a lot since earlier versions, very useful app. |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: Maps no longer working Since upgrading to 0.8.2 beta my South African map "South_africa_and_lesotho_africa.obf" no longer works. Anyone any ideas? |
[2012-09-12] A Google User: Doesn't lock on gps For some reason doesn't lock well on location. Sometimes gets completely locked and can't find location even though satellite monitor finds it on 3 secs. Also if screen is turned on looses llck and can't keep lock while in standby. Other than that very good. |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Ui The developers need to update the U I maybe to the halo theme. Other than that it's a great application |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: OsmAnd+ I feel this application would be the best of all, and would thrive. Please make it fully functional offline application for quick re- routing. Please allow to import tracks from other similar applications. Please also include POI alerts & merging different tracks. |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Affordable and brilliant |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Not working still Navigation algorithm is still not working. From my office to my home that is less than 10km away, it keep insisting me to take a 44km route to the city center, then over outer ring road and finally back. Even when i was about 1.5km away from home, it still route me back to the initial route of 44km. |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Great app Great app. Keep up the good work. |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Just the best android offline navigation app. |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Ошибки при отрисовке полигонов, поправьте, пожалуйста |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Excellent with the Nexus 7 I brought the full version. It worked beautifully with the Nexus 7 tab. Very detailed street and turns, even the European terrain. I think the optimal utility of this app requires sufficient hardware capacity. I gave it 6 stars if such a category is available. |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Excellent The best. |
[2012-08-30] A Google User: Excellent The only thing I need when I was in Europe. |
[2012-08-30] A Google User: Keeps getting better This version has improved map screen. The search gui is still a mess. |
[2012-08-23] A Google User: Great offline mapping app Great offline mapping app. I've been using this for quite awhile now. |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: Great app More features than google maps. Worth paying for to support more development. |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: Great import GPX use it for cycling |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Works as expected..sgt2.3.3 |
[2012-08-10] A Google User: Worthless. Just avoid it. I give up waiting for u people. Uninstalled! No offline navigation whatsoever & u never fix it. I don't understand how the most basic feature of gps goes ignored. I waited years for this feature. It's hopeless. This app always relies on a data connection to calculate a route. Offline mode fails every time. Its a known bug, to say the least. If I already have a mobile data connection, then what's the point of even using this when Google Maps does it all so much better...for FREE? This is worthless. |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: Osmand Great app. Osm data is the way to go. |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Fresh night build 2178G Man. This app is getting better and better! |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Great maps Liked it enough to buy it. Keep up the good work. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: I made my piece with it. Sort of. It does odd things and the default settings are baffling. The app starts with indexing all the maps which takes some time, really. It is not clear why is it indexing maps because there is no way to search all of them. You have to point to the map file myself. Which gets funny if I want to go to Germany which is split into ~20 files by states. Do you know what the name of a state where Monchengladbach is from the top of your head? No? Better take a map to navigate in your navigation. Then the menu is strictly counterintuitive. If you want to start or stop navigation, you have to press several buttons in correct order. If you mess up, you are navigated somewhere else and there is no way to check your route - the route list is only a list of right and left arrows. So all and all, it's a nice looking app but user hostile. Everything that I consider difficult to develop (maps, fast graphics, UI, routing) is there. The easy part - to make GUI logical and friendly - is missing. Makes no sense. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Missing map data? I had been updating for months but still seeing missing map data for Malaysia. one example is here lat=3.050461&lon=101.806015&z=14. compare offline map with cyclemap for that coordinate |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: Great Just what I was looking for. |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: added very nice new features I think the progress of this app is very, very nice. I appreciate a lot the new feature: lane indication and speed limit and camera warnings. Only, I think we there should be audio notification for these events. When OsmAnd+ is added long-distance routing (300+km), I will probably use only this navigator! |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Very good application! Please add a dedicated 'route creator' tool.Galaxy s |
[2012-07-17] A Google User: Great Works great and keeps getting better... |
[2012-07-17] A Google User: The best App on my phone This is the best App that I have on my phone. Having off line maps available is a real boon. Better speed and lower data usage on your phone. Would recomend to anyone. I upgraded to the full version. What more can I say |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Fail The version of index "....obf" is not supported :((( |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Best map app Best map app, love the support policy, only missing implementation into contact's addresses... keep the good work up |
