Moopon is an application that provides group buying deals specifically for conventions, trade shows, and similar events. Moofwd, Inc. (the company behind Moopon) has partnered with local businesses around the Orlando, Florida area to offer discounts during the CTIA Wireless, 2011 trade show. To mark the launch of Moopon, Moofwd, Inc. is raffling off an iPad 2 to Moopon users. To qualify for the raffle, users only need to submit a name and email address. This happens when a user attempts to use Moopon's "check in" functionality. A "check in" is a user-initiated event that uses the device's lat/lon coordinates provided by the GPS to determine if the user is with a pre-defined distance to the business offering the deal. A user will receive an additional entry to the raffle for each successful check in. If the user does not wish to participate in the iPad 2 drawing, no registration or submission of any user data is necessary. The user data is not used for any purpose other than the raffle and will not be sold or transferred to any 3rd party.
