Lots of good content. It's a good concept to make the data available offline, though that obviously means it takes up a significant amount of space by the standards of a mobile app. Mapping is so poorly implemented the app would be far better off without it. E.g. when using the "point me there" feature to find a route from a hotel in El Segundo to the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, I was told I was 1.8 miles away and the suggested route was to the international terminal at LAX.

LA guide draining battery. Guide is amazing just like the other TripAdvisor guides, very informative, handy and can acess it offline. However, in the last week, I noticed the the guide is draining my battery. I did a test yesterday, I charged the battery to 100%. Made sure I exit the guide and when I checked this morning, the battery went down to 80%, screen used about 28% followed by the LA guide using 26% of the power. The rest was from idling and other background programs. This is very odd because I also have the San Fransisco, Las Vegas, Montreal, San Diego guide on my phone but it's only the LA guide draining the battery?

Great for general view When you come to a new place you look for the big picture- this app helps you with that, plus, nice self guided tours suggestions. No need for data!
