[2012-06-13] brian: Good Great for wifi only tablets |
[2012-05-29] Charles: Horrible app You can't download maps onto archos tablets. Customer support was absolutely no help. I will never buy another app from this company. |
[2012-05-18] Ben: MUST HAVE FOR TRAVELERS I'm a salesman who travels all over my state. Copilot-live, always gets me where I need to go with ease. great value. Just download your maps and hit the road. No need to be online. |
[2012-05-09] Julien: Data free GPS Works as advertised. I needed a GPS that did not use any data for out of the country trips ... this worked perfectly. Maps are accurate, POIs up to date. Only complaint is that this app is a massive battery hog. It will drain my Galaxy Nexus in a matter of hours. |
[2012-05-08] fdhar: Terrible |
[2012-05-07] martoonman: Fantastic! Best GPS app for Android out there. It's so good I have upgraded to the full version.. (don't buy Navigon) CoPilot has a small problem with Galaxy S5 in obtaining a fix. GPS Doctor fixes it beautifully. CoPilot works great off-line (without a cell signal) satellite only. Helpful when your out in the boonies. |
[2012-05-07] Arturas: 3D wiev totally useless. 2D works but doesn't have good interface. 3D i.stalation doesn't goes thru because "error" icon appears. Tryed to do same twice by result the same. Contacted customer support but they bounced me to call by myself to Google market. No anymore. Totaly junk. |
[2012-05-06] John: Crap Do bot buy |
[2012-05-04] heddo: Terrible Not worth a dime, galaxy s 2 |
[2012-05-02] Jer: Excellent offline Nav. We grabbed this just before a trip into the US from Canada - which of course meant no mobile data coverage. CoPilot did a fantastic job of helping us around, with accurate directions and helpful, clear voice directions. The GUI is very easy to read at a glance and does a great job color-coding different intersecting roads so that it's clear which one you're supposed to take at an intersection or exit / merge. Would have liked to see Canada maps included with the US Lite app, but that's a minor gripe considering the huge value packed into a $4 app. Well worth a buy if you're travelling outside your data zone. |
[2012-05-01] vaderj: Crap Does not register with Android as a location service and forces you to type out individually each part of the address. Basically worthless if you receive an address from anywhere but your head or if their search function accidentally finds it. Also, it is a huge slow resource hog and had maps that don't even show the road i live on in Portland Oregon. AND they will NOT issue a refund, so why would you waste your money on a product that the producing company obviously doesn't support? Navfree is far bett |
[2012-04-26] Saurabh: Wonderful Navigation system I downloaded it 2 days back and have been driving a lot. It gives accurate directions and best of all, stores all the maps online... |
[2012-04-24] ctrl-alt-del: Veeeery buggy.Cheap.Did I mention its very buggy? Download this to see your phone crash. LOL |
[2012-04-23] David: Maps from 1800 The maps are so old, it shows my neighborhood as a huge blank spot with no roads at all. This neigborhood is there for at least 10 years... I keep precaching rural areas on google maps and be good. save your 4 bucks for something usefull. Total waste of money!!! |
[2012-04-23] Ken: No Garmin Estimated times are off. When searching for POIs there is no feature to search along current route. Shortest Routes are sometimes longer routes then my Garmin leads me on |
[2012-04-22] Sean: frequently locks up/ freezes droid x Wish i could this app a higher review, but unfortunately its not entirely compatible with droid x or has to many bugs. Yes it will work sometimes without issues maybe 50 % of the time, otherwise it will require a battery pull to get the phone going again. And my phone is fine...no other program locks up my droid x |
[2012-04-12] FrankConroy-US: DON'T DO IT !!!!!!! Everything is a "feature upgrade". Maps don't have my 10 years old street on them. Total rip-off. |
[2012-04-06] Kalle: Great Navigation App Was quite surprised how well it worked on Xoom Wi-fi ICS. And at a very affordable price. |
[2012-03-31] TimmyD: Battery Hog Love the offline maps, Price is right, but please find a way to further reduce cpu usage, if I use pedestrian mode or happen to leave nav on and forget, my battery is toast in 40 min... Why? I am using the power save feature in app (wow, that wasn't a paid option, lol). |
[2012-03-21] Varun: Brilliant app I had been searching for an offline alternative and after trying a few, found this app to be really good. Nice gui, features are worth its price |
[2012-03-17] timothy: Great for price I currently use Co Pilot Live on my G2X and had it installed on my HD2 and it works great, I rarely use my Google turn by turn. I justed installed Co Pilot Standard on my Asus Transformer and it works great, but it doesn't have the same options as Co Pilot Live. I can live with it because of the price and I will update later. |
[2012-03-13] yys: good stuff for a bargain price i used CoPilot 8 initally with Windows Mobile HTC HD2. then, bought CoPilot 9 Premium Live for HTC Sensation. later, transfer the license to HTC Amaze. love the GUI and routing accuracy. hate the old map. some addresses that has been there for over a decade but CoPilot cannot find. the good news is that when you submit the "missing" address, CoPilot fix it in the next map updates for FREE!! so, the good news is that the company is listening to its users which is a good thing. now, i just bought this CoPilot Std to test with my Springboard tablet to see if it has any problem with the tablet. so far, so good. 30 minutes later, i upgraded the map to the full blown feature which included all the features in Premium along with LIVE traffic and PERSONAL map which total about $35. i also have Sygic for my HTC Amaze. a few months later after reporting the problem about no street name visible, there's still no fix. i also have Navigon for my HTC Amaze. this one seems to have the most up-to-date map. however, POI cannot be turn-off which makes it very difficult to read the street names. Google Navigation is great but routing is bad and required data connection. |
[2012-03-11] adiboteanu: Pretty good navigation, but uses CPU 100% Got only the base version for $4. Menus are ok, but not great. Any interesting feature is for extra money, but can't blame, it comes really cheap. Computing routes is quite fast, so is recomputing if you take a wrong turn, but scrolling the map is sluggish. The maps aren't accurate for the side roads. The main problem is that it uses the CPU at least 70% all the time, after a 20 min drive the back of the device is really hot. For comparison, Sygic seems faster when scrolling the maps and it uses only 10% CPU - no heating at all. Overall it's not a total waste of money, but it's not a keeper either... the refund policy could certainly be better. Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 with 2.3.5 |
[2012-03-07] Kurt: wifi only works great on my wifi only galaxy |
[2012-03-05] Doug: Where are the extra maps? : It said there was a map of Canada available for $5 but I couldn't find it. I finally found one to download from the web, loaded it up... and there were road names but no roads! I spent a lot on plugins but never did any good. The free alternatives are way better. |
[2012-03-05] Craig: Great price for the CoPilot Live Standard I've found Google maps Navigation to be quirky and navigates on and off Hwy's to find the shortest but not best route. This app routes my travels more logically. Plus the offline maps have now made my old DroidX which is not activated, useful as a standalone GPS. Worth the 3.99 and the 1.3 gb download. |
[2012-02-29] Ezikini: Is good I am delivery driver and helps me a lot. Basic but excelent |
[2012-02-29] Nickname: Great offline street map...... Been looking for a map/GPS app that could be used offline, and this one does the job very well. We spend a lot of time in the summer on a motorcycle touring the northwest part of Michigan as well as the U.P. Cell/data coverage is spotty at best, and having an on-board street level map is your best friend when trying to find your way through some of those areas. As noted in another review, the GPS seems to go through a "learning" phase the first few times it's used, but eventually fires up right away after opening the app. After reading some of the bad reviews, I wonder if those users realize the primary purpose for this app is the ability to use it OFFLINE. At $4.00, this app is a real bargain. My thanks to Dev. |
[2012-02-21] Ashley: Tops Bought this for a short trip to the usa. Works well, better than the hire car supplied gps. Great value for money. |
[2012-02-21] Joey: For basic GPS it's great for the price. |
[2012-02-15] Peter: Very good Nav Formerly a heavy Google Nav user. Purchased CoPilot for offline maps and for my Android based Headunit. In DC area driving, found CoPilot with Traffic option to be very good. Run side by side with Google, navigation is similar and estimated time (with traffic) is w/in a few minutes of Google Estimates. User experience is great. Both map view and road sign views. Nice automatic routing when traffic delays. When maps out of date, ALK has responded the next month with an appropriate update. Only complaint is the lack of support for Android map app default (ex Navigate from Contact record or Appointment). ALK indicates this is planned for a future release. |
[2012-02-04] voland: fine for the price (edit) maps incomplete and/or out of date, but acceptable. Street names spoken once speech to text data from market installed. Given offline maps it's worth the small cost. |
[2012-01-31] james: Man I love this! It works great for my samsung tablet! |
[2012-01-26] Richard: Awesome navigation app! CoPilot is the best navigation app out there hands down! I've used many navigation apps and this one is the best I've seen so far. Great maps, directions, easy to understand, and best of all it can operate without cell service! CoPilot also updates their maps frequently and by frequently I'm talking about at least once or twice a month. Thank you to the makers of CoPilot! I work in the moving and transportation industry and your product has saved me thousands on fuel prices and countless hours! |
[2012-01-12] mike: Klunk Paid for and immediately it stopped downloading the us map and will not resume... talk about a ripoff! |
[2012-01-05] Owen: Pretty good. Recent updates have improved performance and usability greatly on my galaxy tab. Occasionally have quirks with the tts as well as performance could definitely be better. |
[2012-01-02] James: Best one I've found for android. Works great. only compliant I have is that the maps are out of date. love all the feature. very easy to use. |
[2012-01-01] a: Extremely useless app The UI is horrible. Performance got worse than the previous version. It simply useless. Very bad buy. Please don't make the same mistake that I did. |
[2011-12-30] George: Great! Solid nav app I be been using this app for months. No big issues. Good stuff. |
[2011-12-29] Kyle: Sadly, pointlessly ruined by poor maps and adware My reference standard for GPS units is several generations of Garmin devices I owned and used since 1998, including a 5-year-old Nuvi I still use with its original maps. My Android phone is an SGH-T989. In my first trials of this version of CoPilot Live, neither its "North America" map nor regional map for my area knew, variously, the standard address or long-established businesses (as POIs) I wanted. In the case of the address, I could browse to the section of the street, correctly displayed on the map; but when I was setting a destination, the app didn't know the street. Throughout the app are links to features that are not active in this version. Tapping any of them launches an upsell dialog. So they succeed in showing you which features you might have, but fail in sparing you the frustration of not first knowing which those are. These features should be marked somehow (a currency sign, or grayed out, or etc.) Since they are not, they make the app feel like adware. The poor maps and POI database plus the adware feel don't do justice to the otherwise nice UI and attractive, well-designed app. Overall, this was $2.99 wasted, though I was spared spending any more. Uninstalling. |
[2011-12-17] Matthew: Inexpensive Works great for the price. |
[2011-12-14] Aron: Great how |
[2011-12-03] Snowdog: Crashes a lot Not as good as Copliot Live 8. Motorola Defy |
[2011-12-02] dgt: Works great on my three devices I find it works well on my LG Optimus V phone, Samsung Galaxy Tab & Acer Iconia A500 tablet. North America map (1.3GB) downloaded in about an hour which I thought was fast (you should use Wifi, not 3G). I've used Navigon & TomTom in the past and Copilot seems just as good to me, especially for the price (so I bought it for all devices). It has live tracking which is neat, if you want to enable it. |
[2011-11-27] Paddy: Nice The basic version isn't fancy but works really well and well worth the money. |
[2011-11-13] Jos: Great GPS app for $5 I use this app on my Asus tf101 tablet and it works good. It does not speak name of roads but displays the name on the screen. With a tablet I can see the names easily and the rest of the directions also. For me this is all the nav app I need.If you need more features you can add them to this app. I did not want to spend to much money on nav app and this app works great for me. |
[2011-10-27] Thomas: Too many ads I wish there was a way to turn off the premium function buttons. They clutter the screen and it annoying to press on them and get an ad to upgrade. |
[2011-10-26] Ken: Does not function on my phone Support takes several days to respond, and then with only partial sentences or single word responses. Motorola Triumph on VM - I want a refund! |
[2011-10-26] kk: Great Works. Finally can save location. |
[2011-10-24] ONAT: Very Good! Best GPS software $3 can buy. I am very happy with it. It works well on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0. |
[2011-10-22] MaryC: Good App for the Price For the price, this app seems to do a good job. I already had a rival GPS app that I paid more money for, and since the basic version recently went on sale for just a few dollars, I thought I'd try it out to compare. It did a good job of navigating me to local places. For the price, I have no complaints. The GPS chip on my device works very well, so maybe that has something to do with it. |
[2011-10-12] Jesus: Great for $5 Got me from Chicago to st cloud MN with no problem. I also tried sygic but frozed 4 times within 2hrs driving |
[2011-10-07] Chris: Real Garbage don't buy no refunds period Not accurate needs constant data connection, clicked refund error popped up try again later will there goes my money. My 2005 old map GPS is allot more accurate than this. POI only work with data connection. I called ALK the seller and they didn't know they sold this product even though its on their website zero support. |
[2011-10-04] James: Unimpressed Got this for route optimization feature. When I change to another app it forgets my route. Clumsy app. Will nickel and dime to death. |
[2011-08-26] the 9/29/2011 $5 offline navigation I refuse to deal with phone companies any longer and use my droid on wifi only. This app allows me to have my navigation without needing any sort of 3g/4g connection and it works well. Some of the fancy features require you to pay extra, but I don't need or want those. For $5, this is a steal: especially when compared to the competition. |
[2011-08-25] Kelvin: I used the basic co-pilot on a recent visit to Florida. Although I had some difficulties finding some addresses, I actually preferred it to the Garman |
[2011-08-21] Héctor J.: great product Great product for a cheap price. Slow adjudstment on the GPS but in all the performance was great. Once it found the the GPS we had no problem. |
[2011-08-20] Eric: Great This app was cheap and works perfect! |
[2011-08-19] Dylan Wilson - bamhm182: Sounds good... Unfortunately, that is not the case. I can't seem to get the app to take me ANYWHERE. I put in a location, wait for a while, and it crashes. NexusS4G |
[2011-08-09] Charlie: This could be a good App if it came with a map that wasn't straight from the 14th century, which is the only reason to buy the thing in the 1st place |
[2011-08-02] Khai: Old map , hard to use . Moved back to ver 8 |
[2011-08-01] CrazyCook: This version is big mess!! Cannot easily activate, routing refuses to recalculate if you change route., etc. Etc. Etc. Get previous version!!! |
[2011-07-31] vicw: Great Inexpensive entry point to evaluate app I really don't understand all of the hate in these reviews. Copilot has provided an inexpensive, useable app to evaluate and to use, if you just want the basics. Two in-app upgrades will make it identical to the Premium version, with no cost penalty, at your option. It scales beautifully to my ASUS TF, and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. |
[2011-07-25] Adachi: Not accurate Position on map "My Place Bug" had fixed but now facing new issue with "position of map is behind than real position" (15 to 20 yards?) & freezes so often. I made sure to reboot my device to reserve enough memory and still happens (but it shouldn't be necessary like older versions). This often makes me miss the turns... and I cannot really rely on CoPilot Live 9 because of this. I'm going back to CoPilot Live 8 until ALK makes CPL9 more stable. Android 2.3.4. |
[2011-07-22] Ken: Good basic navigation app. Clear and quick re routing. |
[2011-07-17] ArunasZ: Hangs often. Waste of money. Uninstalled |
[2011-07-05] Robert: Ripoff. Cut almost all features and charge for them. Can't even get a refund 2 minutes after purchase. |
[2011-07-03] Anonymous: Cant download maps.... 855hours???? Cant get money back i eas so happy with older edition but this i cant even try with no maps |
[2011-07-01] Russ: 3D is an option? This was standard in the previous version! Just like another reviewer mentioned, you only get 15 minutes to get a refund. |
[2011-06-30] Greg Franklin: Needed offline maps and navigation on the cheap for an upcoming trip. This does the trick. |
[2011-06-30] Meddie: WASTE OF MONEY!! Google maps 100 times better. |
[2011-06-29] maladon: Bait and switch. App is barely functional. All the good features mentioned require expensive upgrades. |
[2011-06-29] DarkSky: 15mins to try before your refund time runs out? Is that a joke? Are they unconfident that much that they dont want you to have enough time to try it |
[2011-06-29] gjzink0: Missing features that were in CoPilot Live USA 3D maps are an additional purchase, which were standard in CoPilot Live USA. While it appears to be better visually, CoPilot is pushing their customers to pay extra for features that were standard in the old version. I would be willing to shell out the $10 for the premium version (or $7 for the upgrade) but I can't get my $3 back I spent on this. What a rip off. |
