[2012-03-10] Ann: Seems like it could be great ... (Update +4 stars) Too bad it doesn't work. The interface is easy enough to figure out and loaded with features. The route customization (by dragging) is a little buggy but works! Which is a lot more than I can say about any of the numerous other apps I tried. The problem is: it immediately force closes on my Pantech Crossover phone as soon as I try to actually "GO" to navigate. Runs on my HTC Flyer (tablet), but the navigation is lousy. No street names given and not really telling you how far the next turn is coming up. In addition, the voice commands were so late, that I would have missed most every turn if I didn't already know my route. My testing of this program was a miserable failure and a waste of $20, I'm afraid. Be warned ...Has potential, but I wish they would just FIX it! **UPDATE: I figured out the problem ... the "natural voices" (Lisa & John?) are so limited compared to the US English Pico (Computer voice) "Just Ahead, Turn Right" is useless-how far? what street? The Pico voice says street names and distances very accurately and in plenty of time, so far, perfect! Also, the John & Lisa files must have been overloading my phone's memory, causing it to force close. Pico works fine!! |
[2012-03-09] BL: Well featured wallpaper Great feature set, but began locking up everytime I opened it, making it worthless. |
[2012-03-08] Vincent: Broken out-of-the-box Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Gingerbread. Other GPS (Google Navigation, Sygic, TeleNav) all work fine, GPS Status and GPS Aids both report strong, steady fix. Yet Copilot Live Premium can't seem to keep a steady fix. The GPS signal indicator goes off more often then it is on, the navigation arrow is replaced by a frozen circle and the display doesn't update my movement for seconds to minutes. The app remains responsive, just no position update. I contacted support two days ago, no reply so far. |
[2012-03-05] nrosoff: Very poor customer support Google navigation is a better choice |
[2012-03-04] timothy: Worked well until we left state. Worked great until we went through Kansas city after that wouldn't even bring maps up. Very upset I had to buy an atlas for our trip after all! |
[2012-03-03] chet: Is there a negative rate on here? This is the worst prouduct I've used. I was so excited to get my app and use several features that did not work. Don't waste your money on this one. |
[2012-02-29] aaron: Lame Lame Lame Don't Miss a Turn !!! Your are in for a lot of extra driving if you DRAG your ROUTE or ADD a WAY POINT (“Route Through Here”) (maybe to take the scenic route) and miss the street you want by a half block because this stupid app hides the street names under your finger when you are dragging. If you stay on the route you actually want and con't make that side trip to drive through the way point CoPilot REROUTE’S BACK to that stupid way point forever, even after you have reached your final destination. This would make sense if that was a planned stop that was missed but not for a simple route change. If Google Navigation had offline maps this company would be out of business. I feel ripped off and I only paid $10 the first week it was on the market. |
[2012-02-28] James: Hasnt worked correctly since they came out with this version didn't work on my Evo and goes in circles on my Galaxy S2. If you need a stand alone GPS get Navigon The old version was great this one has no volume with headset or bluetooth |
[2012-02-26] Dave: Average at best It works but its kind of generic looking and the UI is lacking |
[2012-02-26] Craig: Works great for me I puchased this app last year. I've not had any problems. It works well on my Samsung Infuse 4G. Easily comparable to Navigon on my iPhone 4. I've seen improvements in several updates. |
[2012-02-26] William: Not fixed for ICS!!! Purchased originally for my RAZR worked flawlessly...transferred to my Galaxy Nexus running ICS 4.04 and constantly freezes and a force close is required...certainly not what I paid for!!! Gmaps is free and out performs this premium POS!!! |
[2012-02-21] Levi: Good. |
[2012-02-20] jeff980: Nice interface but directions a mess Gets confused when roads overlap, will be driving on an overpass and suddenly it will say make a sharp left! makes me fustrated and just end up using google navigation |
[2012-02-20] Anonymous: Barely Acceptable Used this on a trip from Michigan to Florida and back. It was barely acceptable. It has major problems finding addresses. When I got to Florida it told me to turn left on the street my hotel was on and said that I reached my destination in an empty parking lot. I needed to turn right, not left to get to the hotel. It also has major problems with telling you which way you're going to exit off the freeway. It also has problems with the direction an interstate is running. Told me to take I-469 South in Fort Wayne Indiana when I-469 runs east and west. But the most annoying thing of all is it telling you NOT to exit the interstate. Imagine driving from Michigan to Florida and at nearly every exit it tells you to stay on the interstate. I've used many GPS systems and NEVER found one doing this. I want my GPS to tell me when to get off the interstate, not tell me at nearly every exit to stay on. Nothing like passing an exit and the next thing displayed is "at the next exit stay on I-65". Then of course you get the voice message three times telling you to stay on. I ended up shutting it off it was so annoying. |
[2012-02-18] Tim: Excellent for tablet use. Great app for tablets which do not have 3g. I see a lot of complaints about the app, but they appear to be mostly issues with their phones and not the actual app. I've used dedicated GPS devices and had problems with those, so I can't honestly expect a non dedicated device not to have an issue here and there. Overall, the problems have been too few to mention. Tablet use is fantastic with the larger screen. Much easier to use and navigate the menus due to the larger buttons. Highly recommend for tablets. |
[2012-02-16] Tim: No better than the free ones The speed limit feature doesn't work at all. Customer support says it doesn't work on ALL highways but I haven't found one yet in Ohio that it works on. The map of Dayton, OH is at least 16 months out of date. I asked for my money back but they said "nope". Buyer beware! |
[2012-02-16] TeeKay: Beautiful UI, nicely updated! NOW ITS GREAT! I absolutely love this app, now that its been updated! |
[2012-02-09] Boris: The intetface is horrendous I keep it installed just in case i get lost where there is no mobile internet coverage. But when that happened I chose to drive blindly rather than struggle with this interface. |
[2012-02-06] Derek: Utter rubbish This is awful, I have gone back to version 8. Also I was assured by CoPilot that this included maps of Canada, it doesn't. Also not compatible with maps of Australia and New Zealand, it has to install a second app. Save your money, stick with version 8 or buy something else. |
[2012-02-06] Compusmurf: Poor Fail on Galaxy S2. Support is worthless. Don't waste your $. IF I could give negative rating I would. |
[2012-02-05] Toby: Disappointed I wanted an app that let me view maps without good cell coverage. This app is supposed to have maps built in but it's hard to open it up just to view the map and when I browse beyond a certain area, the map is blank. I need to search the map and zoom into any area to study the map without any destination and without gps turned on! |
[2012-02-03] Morgan: Loved it and then... I loved this app once I got a larger memory card for the maps. Even with my trucking company's routing. Then I had to buy a new phone, Samsung exhibit 2. Can't download the maps since it won't use the external sd card... Contacted the company they said nothing can be done since that was the way the phone was programmed. |
[2012-02-03] Victor & Shelley: A must have app Works even without cell reception. |
[2012-02-03] Krusty: Saved me $ Worked great on SGS2 Bought this after getting an SGS2 and i was planning a driving vacation around CA. Found the menus a little confusing at first but soon got the hang of it. Sometimes it failed to find the actual number on a road but it got me as close as I needed to every time. GPS signal did drop for a few seconds once or twice in the 3 weeks, but Google maps does the same so i suspect the phone and/or conditions for that. At the end of the day I saved 150$ on the cost of renting a GPS from the Hire company. Bought the European version when I got home and its been great. Hasn't sent me wrong yet, diversions works great and the routes it gives always seem to be the best available.. |
[2012-02-01] scaraveos: Worst technical support in the world Bought Active Traffic add-on one week ago and didn't activate automatically. Still trying to resolve with their support. |
[2012-01-29] james: Awesome! Went to USA for 2 week holiday. Bought copilot as it was much cheeper than hiring GPS from car rental. Using HTC incredible s, found this app to be excellent. 2 minor grumbles, 1st time I used app in USA, must have taken 10 mins to find my location. Since then it has literally taken seconds. 2nd moan- when entering address in portrait, system gets confused, ending up with predictive text and original text. ?? Landscape mode works fine. Great app, well recommended! |
[2012-01-28] Brent: Works great for me I installed this on my Ideapad K1 about a week ago after paying $20.for the premium version plus $10.for a traffic subscription and a couple of bucks for a voice from the market so that the street names could be spoken. I tether my phone to download traffic data, which is accurate and helpful. The multiple routes are great for the Dallas area and the roads I travel. Speed limits aren't displayed, but support is good and this problem is apparently being addressed. I am still getting used to the differences between this navigator and my Nuvi, but so far, I like what I see. I really like the ability to look forward in the route, and the color coding of road traffic along the way is a nice touch. Highly recommended. |
[2012-01-26] Mark: Love it! I can't always be in range of my carrier, and love the fact that I will still get where I'm going as long as I have Copilot! |
[2012-01-26] jim: Works pretty much as advertised Have used for two weeks. Took a while to figure everything out. Bought mainly for the route dragging, not the easiest to use but it works. Do not like that voice navigation only says turn left or right and not turn right on Walnut St. Or slide right onto route 57. Nice display. |
[2012-01-25] Matthew: Epic 4g 2.3.5 no go. Program installs fine, but Will crash back to the launcher while calculating route. Several updates to program and back and forth with developer has not resolved. Epic4g Gingerbread. |
[2012-01-21] Jeffrey : Pretty good first month I've never had a navigation device/tablet before, but seems to work reasonably well with my wifi-only A1. Have not tested with any/other audio playing (I keep the sound off for less distraction currently). -1 for not interpolating street addresses well - sometimes the nearest "known" address near your destination is well away from where you specifically want to go, but it will get you reasonably close. Also, some cross-streets do not appear as options, even though they are correctly displayed on the map. I do like the walking mode and Lane Assist features. The points of interest list could stand some some more expansion, however. Overall, it seems good value for the money. Will update if I have more to share as I get more familiar with the product. |
[2012-01-20] sal: Theres no lower stars to give The worst 19.99 u can spend. Stick to google maps (its free)dont even try to get it PIRATED.takes u around in circles maps r atleast 2 1/2 years old. U get new map only if ur a new buyer? There r no new maps with these people!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE THEAVES!!!! |
[2012-01-20] Aaron: Was great but. . . I have used this app on my Motorola xoom for the last year and have had no problems whatsoever with it. It worked better than my dedicated GPS that I used the last two years. But I just got ice cream Sandwich on my Xoom and now I don't have text to speech, so it doesn't speak the road names anymore. I don't know if this is a copilot problem or a problem with the ice cream sandwich on the Xoom, but until then I would've given this five stars. |
[2012-01-19] James: CoPilot Live Premium USA - Review postives. 1. It has a setting for an audible warning when exceeding the speed limit by your prefered amount over. This warning helps keep my on my toes while driving. 2. The graphics and details are excellent. 3. The maps and the GPS speed estimates are extremely accurate. The GPS speed estimate is typically within about 1 to 2 MPH of what my vehicle is showing on the dash. 4. The real estate of the screen is very proportionate, and appears to be well planned out. 5. I like the way this software stops my music, which my Samsung Player is playing at the time, and then restarts it after it broadcasts the warnings and instructions. Next the Negatives. 1. Where the warnings and instructions are audible, and details are presented on the screen, during heavy traffic I need to hear explicit turn by turn comands such as telling me the street names that I must turn on too. Some freeways will have joined exists that fork within feet of each other. In order to know this currently I must look at the screen which is a safety issue. 2. Whereas the speed limit is shown on the screen, it is not shown on all roads. At times it is inaccurate, at least within a year out of date. |
[2012-01-19] Gairloch: Useless App crashes to launcher when trying to use it for any actual navigation. Support is sporadic, unresponsive and barely competent when you do finally get through to them. Strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Nexus S. |
[2012-01-19] difner: Wheres The Speed Limits I bought this for the speed limits and so far all the streets i have been on have no speed limits shown. I used Sygic and on the same roads it shows speed limits. |
[2012-01-17] Bob: Still a piece of junk Old maps and not allowing me much customizing. This update is 19.38 MB of pure crap. |
[2012-01-15] Kapil: Good for cheap discounted price Good app as long as you get it for $9.99. If I have to pay more woul prefer a dedicated gps system. Maps are correct most of the times. |
[2012-01-15] S: Dangerously Inaccurate "Maps" Whether your mapped location has existed for 20 years or 2 months, CoPilot Premium will totally muck you over. Highway exits that don't exist, driving miles away to get to an address just down the block.....where do they get their maps from? Guessing info is from alt/parrallel Earth. |
[2012-01-14] Mark: Changing my rating! Until they have at least the same functionality of version 8. If you do not have a destination in you have no functionality, 8 was better!!! |
[2012-01-14] Bob: Works great I have had no problems running on a Acer A100 with HC 3.2 One of the few apps that the developers actually participate in the forum. A few minor things were not to my liking, but not so bad after using it for awhile. |
[2012-01-13] David: Really pretty hopeless! They are so keen on making it look pretty and cool, that they completely drop the ball on the actual navigation and map accuracy. Reported gated community road they insist is a through way, no less than six times over year 1/2. Keep getting email saying fixed..NOT FIXED! Plus, out of the four Nav programs I've used, this has the most ludicrous routes of all. They need to re-prioritize. Cute bells and whistles are USELESS if it can't get you home properly!!! Don't waste time. |
[2012-01-13] Jay: Works well but not much customization Great features but wish it could show more of the user defined info items. You can only select two but there are so many other that would be useful to add. Wish it had a free trial though. Mayer would go back to Sygic if I didn't already buy this. |
[2012-01-11] Declan: Full of bugs Very good navigation software, but full of bugs on the HTC sensation. Will randomly freeze up or force close during navigation. However CoPilot European works perfectly on the same phone. |
[2012-01-10] daniel: using on Droid X2 I love it, slow getting the lock on GPS but otherwise works as described. I figured out how to put maps on the SD card and not internal memory. I downloaded the North America Maps which is 1.5 gigs, but ran out of internal space. So i moved them to a 16gb card. After reading online, i just had to modify the user config file and change the path to where the maps are located. Now everything works. |
[2012-01-10] Qack: Good but not great My older version in my Windows mobile phone was better |
[2012-01-09] Jody_G_address: SUPER Superior product. Great customer service. Not like others that tell you, your running wrong version, or something. Keep up great work |
[2012-01-09] John: Can't use it... What a waste of $10. By the time the darn maps finished downloading the stupid 15 minute return policy expired. When the maps finally finished downloading, it was too large for the storage on my phone. Contacted support and they told me "the policy is stated in the market... blah, blah, blah..." |
[2012-01-08] Damon: Crap App This has got to be the worst navigation app i've ever downloaded, let alone paid for. What a total waist of money. Can even get a refund because it takes forever to download the maps. Trust me don't waist you hard earned money on this, you'll be as sorry as I am. |
[2012-01-07] Dmitri: Best So far this is far better than either Maps or Wisepilot. In fact, it is a good mix of both which works well. |
[2012-01-07] Douglas: Not perfect, but better than our Garmin and doesn't need a data connection. |
[2012-01-06] Donald: Love it I am using the Lenovo ideapad and it works fantastic, the routes aren't always the way I would go but it does get you there. If you do veer off course it quickly adjusts the route, like in a manner of seconds. I have been testing it where I live just to see how well it did. It does turn by turn directions and can handle get rural areas. I did run into a new neighborhood and it got stuck because it didn't have the street in it's maps, but neither does Google so I gave it a pass. I love it personally! |
[2012-01-05] Dan: I don't know why some people are having so much trouble. This has worked great on my EVO 4G. Maps could be more updated but I havent had many issues. |
[2012-01-04] John M.: Probably the worst navigation app I've used. It kept telling me to go back a couple of miles instead of continuing with new route, the thing doesn't know where I am. Google navigation has me exactly where I am. Waste of 10 dollars |
[2012-01-04] Joe: Android 4.0 problems Crashes on Ice Cream Sandwich. |
[2012-01-04] marisol: Great GPS just lots of bugs would be better if address was better not very accurate works good offline just needs to that to be fixed and I would be happy to give it 5 starz |
[2012-01-04] dahauss: Issues Bluetooth audio cut off. For those who say no spoken street names, it says them for me on the evo 4g. |
[2012-01-04] Shell: works okay Needs hc and ics fragment and actionbar support for what it costs I expect better. |
[2012-01-04] Charles: Great tool with preloaded maps, but maps are old. Love the user interface, but the icons and text labels are too small to read. Menu options need to be a bit larger too. Maps are a bit old. Not needing an internet connection is a life saver, though. |
[2012-01-02] Patrick: Very Good GPS This is a very Good GPS because you do not need a radio or wifi signal for it to work. This would be a Great GPS that my Friends would buy if the street names were called out instead of being just shown in the screen and there was an audible bell or tone reminding you to turn with the voice guidance. Maybe in the next update this will be available? |
[2012-01-01] Ryan: Bad enough to make me write my first Android Market review. Unstable on Gingerbread Sprint Nexus S. Crashes to launcher when asked to calculate route, or when asked to do pretty much anything else really. Becomes unresponsive and needs a Force Stop regullarly. Can't get a GPS lock when Google Maps/Navigation work fine. When it does work, it takes so long to load that I've usually already figured out where I'm going on my own, so what's the point? Worthless! |
[2011-12-31] Private Pinay II: =[ ICS not working... refund |
[2011-12-29] Pawel: So far so good. Works very well. I have everything in one I mean traffic, weather, gas prices. It take about 1 hour to download maps. |
[2011-12-29] Dave: Hangs on Samsung Epic 4G CoPilot Live Premium USA Locks up on Samsung Epic 4G. Go elsewhere. |
[2011-12-29] forest: Nearly Useless. This could have been good, if only it worked. Major problems I noticed before uninstalling: 1. It tends to be really unresponsive. I often have to tap an icon 5-7 times (waiting a second in between) before the app reacts. In other words, it seems to ignore my taps. This is on a new phone with a 1GHz CPU running Android 2.3.4. I cannot overstate how frustrating this is. 2. When it plots an impossible route (e.g. the wrong way down a one-way street) and I correct it, returning to My Route or the 3D navigation screen usually loses my changes and reverts to the wrong route. What good are alternate and custom routes if they cannot be used? 3. The back button seems to always take me to the 3D navigation screen instead of back where I was before. This is especially frustrating when choosing an alternate route or working with waypoints: I tap Back intending to return to the route overview screen (to get a better look at the new route before accepting it) but instead I am forced into driving mode, requiring another series of taps to get back where I had been. Did ALK build this using a cross-platform dev framework? If so, it's junk. They should do a proper Android port. |
[2011-12-29] Darnell: Works well, especially since the last update. The Bluetooth audio issue is finally fixed. And far less random lock ups. If you need offline maps, this is the answer. |
[2011-12-27] Ivan: Couple steps forward and backward. Pros: -fixed the clashing between music and voice navigation in live v8. -better alternate routes options. Cons: -UI becomes extremely non finger-friendly. Much prefer the big icons and text on the live v8. -Seems to have less POIs then the live v8. Some of the POIs that I could find on v8 are not available here. Wish list: integrate music player on android as well, increase the size of the UI and text, improve search function. Tested on htc sensation 4g. |
[2011-12-25] Mick: Exception value and very stable Successfully navigated me all over Florida for 3 weeks with ease even on my old slow HTC Wildfire. Great value. Also tested Syngic which was aweful. |
[2011-12-25] Jim: Force closing Closes as soon as it's opened, Samsung Galaxy Nexus |
[2011-12-25] Jason: OK. G2x Its OK. I would like it more if it didn't crash as much or lockup? up phone and require me to reboot. I also noticed that it doesn't read street signs. Kind of odd. I choose this over navigon because of the price. 10 bucks isn't a bad price. Just needs more work in stability. It seriously crashes after 30 to 40 minutes of navigating or it locks up and I have to reboot the phone. |
[2011-12-24] Ismael: Not stable It freezes a lot on DROID bionic. |
[2011-12-23] John: Please fix Crashes during start on Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.0.2 |
[2011-12-23] Thi: Work great on Toshiba Thrive. Nice improment from previous version. Easy to add waypoints and change route. |
[2011-12-22] Yahya Phillips: Droid3 Works great. Been using now for about 6 months. Keeps inproving. Some keys to small to easly press. Entering text on droid3 can be tricky. For some reason will only let you enter one letter and every letter afterwards overwrites the first. |
[2011-12-22] Kevin: Doesn't work Will not load on ics |
[2011-12-22] Dan: Terrible Lots of FCs and sudden cannot load code. Terrible! Galaxy Tab |
[2011-12-21] Christian: Lifesaver! Love it!!! Better than my tomtom! SGH-t989 |
[2011-12-21] Michael: Very nice Great for when there's no cell service! |
[2011-12-21] Michael: Excellent Worked wonderfully. Very easy to use once you learn the menus. Fastest I've ever used and have used multiple PC and Android navigation apps. Love the offline maps. Acer Iconia A500. |
[2011-12-21] kev: Very unhappy NOT compatible with ICS and took long enough to try and get it working that I was unable to get a refund. Even after trying on Android 2.3 I found that the SW does not live up to the description. Very disappointed and money wasted. Should make a trial version available like some other developers do to ensure compatibility with devices. :( |
[2011-12-21] Lito: Used to work great, now broken Worked great on my Epic 4G, but now, even with 8 satellites links, won't get a fix on my position. Used to be a great app... |
[2011-12-20] Raul: Totally useless! This apps takes forever to download it onto my phone even when I chose a small-area-map for download. Wireless signal in range for download was more than perfect and yet the file took almost 16 hours to install ! Therefore, you can't return it because time for trial doesn't exist (15 minutes is nothing). How am I going to try an app that hasn't been installed on my phone? Fifteen minutes should be more than enough for trial when the app downloads and installs quickly just like other apps I've installed on my phone. But this one... please, don't buy this third-rate product coming from a cheapjack speculator! |
[2011-12-20] Scott: Sucks .... Cannot use at all... It keeps thinking i am going the opposite direction than what I am going! tried on several different roads and still the same affect. |
[2011-12-19] POBrad: Good so far Seems good so far only had it a couple days. Cant give it more than 3 stars because it doesnt have maps of Puerto rico. Which I was initaly looking for. |
[2011-12-19] Martin: Ideal for visitor from Uk For the first time on holiday, I didn't get lost! Reduced the stress esp when heading back to hotel. Disable Swype keyboard, otherwise problems entering street names, nothing in faqs about this. All routes seemed the most logical. |

[2011-12-19] Nick: Not for ICS Not working on ICS Galaxy Nexus. No response from dev |
[2011-12-17] Naveed: doesn't work on infuse does not track on infuse, even after hard resets. no fixes after informing them. other GPS navigation software work fine, even the older version of copilot. Looks like it was quickly rushed out. Useless social networking. UI is convoluted and complicated. Hangs for a few seconds after start. |
[2011-12-17] Greg: Greg This is a terrific app. There is a lot of value for the money. Garmin and Tomtom wouldn't listen to my suggested updates. You did & made the changes! |
[2011-12-16] Shepard: Not so good Useless, it keeps loosing the GPS signal even when I am in the sub menus. |
[2011-12-15] Clint: Worthless! Sometimes can't even pinpoint me to the right city. Google navigation. Works just fine. So it's not my epic touch! Developer won't respond to Email's |

[2011-12-03] trekkie: Great value for the price I like the interface over the previous versions. Loads fast even for last year phones like Desire |

[2011-12-02] Chris: Fair Don't buy for the voice navigation. It doesn't work when playing music. Also doesn't say anything more than "take exit". |
[2011-11-30] Jan: Jan Looks like gps not sync with maps. Pointer/arrow is jumping around not where it sup tobe. Off road and some side roads even if Im on fwy and recalcula |
[2011-11-30] Steve: Better than google Google navigation is a hard act.to follow, but CoPilot is worth the investment. Occassional screen rotation strangeness, but in general works well. |
