[2012-07-07] mark: Lost promises Latest version has killed off the free traffic upgrade that was meant to work for a year. Now wants me to pay again. |
[2012-07-02] Nicolas: Not reliable Drains battery faster than it can charge in a car. Display traffic alerts with popups that you have to manually close during navigation. Tested on galaxy note and S3. |
[2012-07-02] ian: Works well! Have used this for a year now and find it to as good as tomtom. |
[2012-07-02] Ollie: Cannot sign in Great app on my old Desire but not working well with new phone. When entering my ID the wrong characters appear on screen, preventing me from logging in. Stock SGS3 running ICS. UPDATE: keyboard input is incorrectly recognised throughout other areas of the app such as entering names for favourites. Have tried a number of different keyboards. |
[2012-07-01] andy: Galaxy 3 Moved from s2 to s3, couldn't believe how Easy it transferred automatically. I didn't do anything about from enter my I'd name again. Works a treat on the galaxy s3 |
[2012-06-25] Lomcovaks: Serious keyboard bug 'upgraded' to this version as was very happy with previous copilot on my windows phone. However, you cannot enter a destination or edit a favourite using anything other than one keyboard type. Making the software all but unusable on ice cream sandwich phones. Support were useless, at first saying it was my error and then when I sent video of the fault to them, admitted the fault but said they don't know when they'll fix the bug. A waste of £30 and will never buy from them again. |
[2012-06-25] riaz: Please allow importing of stared places from Google maps. |
[2012-06-22] Mike: Could Be Better The app works, but on Droid X, app and GPS cause severe battery drain. When used in Europe for guidance while walking, battery drained in less than 2 hours, with all radios turned off except GPS. User interface is particularly annoying. Finding POIs in Italy works fine if you know spelling - could not find several of the large public parking lots in Florence. If I had to redo my trip, I would by EU maps for my Garmin and ditch Copilot Live. |
[2012-06-19] Jim: Mr Jim Good app running on HTC sensation. Standard charger,in car or external battery pack easily tops up or maintains battery when app running. |
[2012-06-18] luke : Power hungry Worked well in most parts. Poland was ok but sometime sent us the long way. Keeps crashing the music player so couldnt listnen to music at the same time. But the power. You cannt use this without it being plugged in. It drains so quickly compared to google nav. Having screen on full phone was hot. |
[2012-06-17] David: Drains battery faster than it can charge... This app runs constantly at around 50% CPU and drains the Galaxy battery faster than the car can charge it. I've seen this same criticism from other users. A satnav that can't be used for extended periods isn't a satnav, and I think I could reasonably argue that it's not fit for purpose. I asked ALK about this, and their reply, laughably, was that it's ICS. Strange, since not a single other app on my phone causes the back to become hot - not warm, mind, actually hot. Since heat energy can only be coming from the battery, this is obviously why the app drains it - it looks like a vastly inefficient program using huge amounts of CPU unnecessarily. I bought this when it was on offer. Bad choice. Bad support. Bad app. This is a great pity, since the interface itself is very good. But a satnav that can't take you on a long journey is just a useless piece of plastic and glass... |
[2012-06-16] LeJean: Could be better it has Bing but not Google implemented. speed cameras could be tweaked. it has fixed distance warning and would be much better to be variable depends on speed. 250 yard warning is fine in city but definitely to short on highway. I have also noticed strange re-routing issue - it is reporting to you that there is traffic and your route is still fastest and popup window is waiting till accepted - WHY?!?!?! if quicker way is different than original and accepted then copilot will go like mad changing and re-routing without questioning.. that is MAD. I must knock down again few stars from you guys |
[2012-06-14] Luigi R. Viggiano: Fantastic Navigation system I used to think that tomtom is the best. Then, they stole from my car and I tried CoPilot. It has more features, and so far it has proven to be exceptional. It still lacks google search, but it has Bing search; which I don't like. It provides phone numbers for emergency, but this can be improved adding numbers for ambulance, police, firefighters and Embassy. I can't find many others missing features : it is very complete. |
[2012-06-12] Grellan: Activation fixed? That was my main bugbear. Overall stability and performance seem greatly improved. Good effort. |
[2012-06-11] Adam: Great app! Worked perfectly. Worth the investment. Two suggestions 1) add integration with standard map apps eg click address in calendar or contacts prompts with option to use this app (with standard options) 2) add support for predictive text, I had to turn it off when entering addresses. |
[2012-06-09] Jeremy: Good nav, still lacking a few features Not bad, having come from tomtom I am missing a few features and traffic is not perfect. However, a very good nav system that is on my phone with no need for a separate unit. A f ew more customizable features and then 5 stars |
[2012-06-09] Brian: HTC one x Great sat nav, love it. |
[2012-06-07] Dimitar: Galaxy note ICS issues If you switch to 2d in the driving menu, its become empty... galaxy note official UK ice cream sandwich. Please fix ASAP |
[2012-06-02] david: best absolutely best gps app out there. no problems at all even finding the satelites takes just few secs. works extr. well on my sgs2 with Ics 4.0.4 |
[2012-05-28] cjp: A must have! Best SatNav app/product I have used. The customer experience is great with the constant updates and little tweaks... Keep it up! :-) |
[2012-05-26] KRDuck: OK Poor keyboard input and support site for password reset isn't available. Doesn't look promising :( Hopefully things will improve. |
[2012-05-25] Harri: MAPS ARE FROM MARCH 2011! I contacted ALK support prior to purchase, they told me maps are from March. But the maps are from March _2011_. Support became unresponsive when I started demanding an explanation. |
[2012-05-24] marco: Good Works well in general on motorola razr, just wish the interface was a bit easier to manage |
[2012-05-21] Stuart: Good app, unhelpful company I bought UK edition last year - worked fine on Galaxy tab. Recently bought Galaxy Note and emailed them twice for help. Got no reply. In a hurry I bought Europe edition and later asked for refund. They claimed they had replied and refused refund. Beware! |
[2012-05-18] Mike: Mike Fantastic, but I would like to import poi files. |
[2012-05-18] Arash: Excellent Navigation with advanced features, Just could you please add google search as well, Bing is so rubbish at least in Europe |
[2012-05-16] ginge74: Error 808 servers busy Error 808 on applying my user name and password. Customer services tell me there servers are busy..FOR 9 HOURS STRAIGHT!! Pull the other one. £40 is an awful lot to pay for an app. Co pilot sort your systems out and look after your paying customers rather than concentrating on your free app! No refund either as is took more than 15minutes to get a answer from their 'live chat ' (67 minutes) |
[2012-05-16] KazmanUK: What's happened to the battery consumption? Great app, but the latest update seems to have increased battery consumption. I have a 2.1amp charger which worked fine previously, but since the last update, the charging can't keep up. Galaxy Note. Would be 5 star, but this issue takes it to a 2. |
[2012-05-15] Ady: No internet fault. Rubbish do not download. I am furious. I have exactly the same problem. By the time i realised the problem the refund expired. I am just about you head off on a European road trip and downloaded this app as last minute thing. Now i have no sat nav and no 40 quid. I want a refund. This is outrageous. The problem is wjth your app. It is too late for you to fix it just give me my money back. |
[2012-05-14] ~ SilverLad: The Best! Was using Sygic for a while but got fed up with the amount and frequency of issues it gave me. CoPilots maps and choice of route are MUCH better as well as using less battery (amongst other good things...) |
[2012-05-13] Chris: Great App Although the Web search has changed from Google to bing which is a disappointment, and the side information bar displaying the next turns and eta, distance, and other info has gone. |
[2012-05-12] raven10011: The best satnav I have ever used I used this for over a year now and absolutely love it. Some many trips some lasted weeks (!) and apart from the initial bugs it never missed a beat. I read that some people with the galaxy s2 complained about the app draining the battery faster than it is charged... All I would say to them is buy a genuine samsung charger! Not only will it be able to keep up but will even charge it to full. This app is the best value for money satnav! |
[2012-05-09] artkrz: Very good but could be better Routing is good, UI could be improved, not easy to navigate even on my Galaxy Nexus due to small on screen buttons. Support is absolutely horrible. I change my device and couldn't restore paid features on my Copilot ID as the app thinks I'm trying to run it on more than one device (even though the old one was wiped with full ROM flash), it's 1.5 weeks and still no fix, I had to create new ID just to get the free 12 months (as a paid traffic customer my subscription should be topped up on my original id but I couldn't either restore or get the free one). They just go in circles asking details I already provided with about 1 message a day. |
[2012-05-04] Luis: Good Ap, searchimg for an address is awful I bought this app to take me to Amsterdam from Cambridge. I have to say it did a good job as it doesn't require internet access. Where it fails miserably is finding the address or destination. The Google maps app on this respect is a million times better and often found myself going to Google maps just to obtain a location on the map so I could them find it in this app and hence plot the route. Once the route is found and plotted out works perfect. |
[2012-05-03] Joe: Good app, awful customer service Like the app alot, but am very disappointed with the customer service. I've recently had an issue where, after trying to update my Copilot ID (i.e. my email address) via the app, I was told my Copilot ID was now invalid. which in turn prevented me from using certain Copilot services (such as viewing addresses that I've saved as 'favourites', or activating the Active Traffic service). It took a month and several meaningless exchanges for their support team to send me the following message: "You will need to CREATE A NEW COPILOT ID". They gave no explanation on how to create a new ID, and their FAQs do not cover this, but I figured out that you need to uninstall the app, then when you reinstall the app you're given the chance to create a new Copilot ID and everything works as it should again. |
[2012-05-02] Laszlo: Motorola Razr Droid Excellent! |
[2012-04-30] Martin: Works great on the Motorola ATRIX |
[2012-04-27] Ionut: Very good. Dunno what else u can expect from this lovely app... Been with it all the way to eastern europe and worked just as good as the iGO i have fitted on the car. Only downside is that it overheats the phone a bit, when sunny u have to add brightness which eats a lot of juice and thats about it...i use it with power saving on. Very good app for the price paid, does the job wonderfully with a bit of tweaking. |
[2012-04-26] tom: Cannot fault this. Brilliant! I have used five different TomTom devices over the past 10 years and currently also use a Navigon premium device in my vehicle costing around 200 €. However, in my work vehicle I use my HTC mobile on a mount with this CoPilot software with the Safety Cameras installed too. Hand on heart, this is as good if not better than my Navigon device and previous TomTom devices. I cannot say one negative thing about it. Voice commands are clear and most importantly, maps are bang up to date with VERY clear guidance both in the city and on the motorways. It also has useful extras such as audio warnings when you are driving over a given speed limit. There are plenty of options made available to change settings to your liking. I have downloaded the full European maps included in the app (for free) onto my mobile micro SD card. Also installed this onto my Samsung Tablet. Given the cost of this app....if you have a smart phone, I honestly don't know why you would need to spend a vast amount more money on a navigation device. I would give 50 stars out of 50 if I had the option. |
[2012-04-26] Nori: Very good I love this app, but can anybody tell me where I can set it for avoiding motorway? Can't find anywhere.. |
[2012-04-20] Matt: Running on my Motorola Xoom!! This works great on my Xoom. We travelled down to the south of France using this and it never went wrong... except for in Paris under layers of Motorway above you. It was not sure which one we were on at that point. Else a great App and does the job well and very clear on a Motorola Xoom!! |
[2012-04-20] Tudor: Immature application, unhelpful customer support Major issues with this app: digital compass feature is shaky and unstable, pinch and zoom is unreliable, and navigation crashes often. Asked refund after 30 minutes which ALK technologies refused, fortunately google were more professional and gave me a refund, probably due to other users also being unhappy with this app. |
[2012-04-20] Wodge: Impressed but problem on last upgrade Seems to work really well on GS2. Would five it 5 stars if you could turn screen off but continue with voice commands (for use with bluetooth on motorbike). Also takes a minute or two to close after latest upgrade on S2 |
[2012-04-19] PeeZzz: Erg goed! Ik heb CoPilot nu al een tijdje. Recent mocht ik Navigon proberen. Navigon is meer dan 2x zo duur als CoPilot, maar CoPilot is echt veel beter. |
[2012-04-19] Alexandre: Amazing... I have used copilot since it was v. 6 on my O2 orbit 1. Never let me down. Very highly recommended. |
[2012-04-19] Ben: Co pilot Best paid app full post code. Can't wait to us in Spain don't need data signal. |
[2012-04-17] Tim: Serious errors in mapping! Absolutely terrible product. Serious errors in the mapping across the West Midlands and Wales mean that the software cannot plan sensible routes or predict journey times correctly. I've been in touch with support for over 9 months. They have failed to solve the problem and refuse to refund the money that I have paid for software that is quite clearly not fit for purpose! |
[2012-04-15] Jamille: Does the job. Could be better with feedback Please allow us to edit the distance for different safety camera speed alerts. Also set distance before second announcement of an instrution |
[2012-04-11] dodo: Excellent product, but... I installed Copilot on Samsung Galaxy S II and everything seemed to work smoothly when I realized that this application is very gourmand when it comes to battery usage. I had to switch to eco mode to avoid losing all the energy. Anyway I am happy with it. |
[2012-04-10] rusucrstn: Super produs!!!!! |
[2012-04-10] matthew: Superb Best navigator for android... |
[2012-04-10] Yuval: Excellent application, better than the free ones. |
[2012-04-10] Matthew: Excellent everytime on HTC Desire . Does everything I could possibly want from a sat-nav app + more . I have used it in the UK for work and France , Germany + Belgium for holidays + would heartily recommend it :-))) |
[2012-04-10] Ian: Best of the bunch I've tried most of 'em and this is the best. No, it's not perfect, but it's functional, fast and effective for most things. TBH, my biggest problem was my SGS GPS, but I fixed that with some tape and have had no problems since. Recommended. |
[2012-04-10] Alex: Satisfied Very pleased with the traffic subscription update. Nice lightweight gps app, decent interface and clear turn instructions. Recommended |
[2012-03-27] Mike: Terrific value for money Better than most in car sat navs and covers Europe for less than £50. |
[2012-03-26] Hatch: Terrible search Could not find my street which is on the map. Couldn't find my destination in Germany, also on the map. Absolutly awfull search capabilities. You should look into how google maps do it. Doesn't handle 'special' address characters at all. Now feel like I got robbed... |
[2012-03-26] Dan: Worse I bought this.some months back, keeps losing sat lock. Wont bother renewing again |
[2012-03-21] merrick: Fantastic I've been using Co-Pilot for several months now and am totally amazed by it. I'm going to France next week on holiday am confident that it'll do a fantastic job. |
[2012-03-20] Dawid: Jheezas Why spent money on sat nav when you can have this for much cheaper? Perfect! Galaxy Nexus |
[2012-03-18] IbeeX: Absolutely great If you drive you should buy it. Great price for whole Europe, one trip abroad and investment is paid of. Also don't forget to buy car mount. |
[2012-03-15] Patrick: Good Navigation Very good, one suggestion for an enhancement is that switching between using toll and non toll roads is a bit complicated, an option to prompt when calculating the route would be good. |
[2012-03-12] aleksas: Alex Works ok well done |
[2012-03-11] Dan: Excellent navigation app I'm traveling in Europe (Germany and some surrounding countries) and bought this navigation program so I could use my phone (EVO 3D) without needing a data connection. So far I'm very pleased with the program and accuracy. I've been using it for a week now and my only complaint is that it doesn't work very well when walking (hence 4 stars instead of 5). It would be better to say it should not be used for walking rather than pretend it does, but with inaccurate results. I really believe I would have gotten lost if I used it for walking, so I turned it off. Road however, awesome! If you're not worried about having a walking navigation, I fully recommend this program. Also, LOVE the feature that displays the current speed limit and notify me when I go over it by a specified amount. It's not always easy to know the current speed limit based on road signs (you just have to know how things work), so this is an awesome addition. |
[2012-03-10] Kevin: Poor customer service and buggy on ICS Paid for their live traffic service but after installing on a new Nexus an error message popped up saying I had installed it on too many devices. Customer support were hopeless and basically said there is nothing they will do about it and refused a refund, Its frustrating that the main program runs ok without any error message but an in app purchase does. Their recent update for ICS is still very buggy with constant crashes and lag - you can easily miss a turn while waiting for the map view to update. I also have the US version and the same problem with lag was on that so I switched to Google Navigation which considering it is free was far superior. |
[2012-03-05] Rob: Great app This is the first satnav that names and pinpoints my street in Greece. Not even the latest Garmin can do that. Interface much simpler to use. |
[2012-02-26] Stefan: Better than Navigon & Sygic I have Navigon and Sygic as well, but CoPilot is by far the best of them all. Fastest startup time. Lowest battery usage. More small roads at the same zoom level. Better User Interface. Draggable rerouting. Etc. etc... |
[2012-02-25] mark: Good when it works Ok, but voice directions stop after 5 minutes. Very hard to use then. |
[2012-02-25] Chris Howells: Buggy, useless support department It's buggy, and uses an awful lot of battery. It's meant to be able to import TomTom OV2 files but this didn't work so I raised a support ticket. The support department is terrible and outsourced. Support didn't understand the issue, after reiterating the problem the response was "we can't open the file". Yes, that is the problem! Gave up in the end trying to get the issue fixed. |
[2012-02-18] Yong Wook: Ok but,,,,, I bought the co pilot live premium just a few weeks ago and finally have it tested both in rural and urban situations. I have been a user of tom tom go for the past 6 years and my conclusions are as follows.. First bad news. I live in radar infested France and copilot live DOES NOT indicate the radars on the map nor give any kind of warning! So I immediatly felt that I have spent my money in a wrong product. second bad news, often the speed limit info shows WRONG speed! Over all, I am not too happy. |
[2012-02-17] wmcivor: Ok Works well on Samsung G2. Still not quite as nice to use as tomtom but does the job. |
[2012-02-16] Reviewer: Often only PARTIAL UK Postcodes taken.. If MATTHEW takes his head out of his @ss, he'll see that other people besides him DO know how to use this SatNav. I was disappointed to find (& feel misled by the developers) that this SatNav often only takes PARTIAL UK Postcodes. For example, try PL4 9AA. It only takes PL49, & then you have to click on 1 of 2 suggested regions, then enter a street name, then a house number. Or try CO10 0YT which it DOES accept. It SHOULD then only require a house number. But it STILL needlessly asks you to choose a street name. Ridiculous. This rather defeats the point of postcodes & their supposedly quicker entry, doesn't it?!! And it's no use at all if you don't know the street name, just the postcode. There are plenty of other issues I have with this app, but I'll leave that for others to describe, or you can visit CoPilot's forum for a large selection! (CLUES: You can't load your own POI lists, & the icons are too small, Alerts don't work until a route's entered, You can't report temp SpeedCams/ road hazards, Uses Bing not Google etc). That said, the app does have its good points & is still, unfortunately, 1 of the best on Android. I just wish TomTom would change their mind & produce something. |
[2012-02-15] Phoenix: Core = new, Maps = OLD I bought this 1 week ago. You get at least 2 year old maps and as a European customer have to buy every 3 year update of the maps again ... Routing is not good, most of the time the alternate suggested route is faster. I'm very dissapointed ... |
[2012-02-15] Håkan: Very well done... |
[2012-02-12] Paul: Zajebiste! |
[2012-02-05] C: Feel like I wasted my money The GPS lock never seems to happen. It thinks I'm in Paris every time I start it up, even though I'm at least 1000 km away. The display spins and zooms without any apparent logic. The directions given are usually wrong or at best the worst possible route. There are much better apps on the market for nav... I don't even bother with this one anymore. I wish I could get a refund :-( |
[2012-02-04] benjamin: Alk Europe premium Fantastic excellent the best |
[2012-01-29] sah300: . Wird immer besser- Routen und Karten sind gut... |
[2012-01-29] William: Missing UK postcodes Doesn't do most UK full postcodes, and this will likely never be fixed, because the support guys claim that it works - well listen up guys, it doesn't! If I enter a full postcode, I don't want to be asked to enter the town and street as well.... |
[2012-01-27] Gerry: Excellent app Excellent app but the support is appalling. If you want a question answered then don't bother contacting support. |
[2012-01-17] Charlie: Now works on ics 4.0.2 galaxy nexus And seems to start and multi task better. Issue of nav disappearing off screen when incoming calls needs to be fixed. As nav returns at end of call. Shortest route option please as 3 options never give me shortest way. A little work needed on route optimisation please. Love the rest |
[2012-01-14] Zilvinas: Many features But route calculation is not always logical. |
[2012-01-12] Anonymous: Excellent Sat Nav App I bought Co Pilot for use on my Acer A100 7 " Tab to replace my TOMTOM which I couldn't get to Bluetooth Tether to my Audio in my car. I have to say I have been impressed so far.To start with the Bluetooth Audio integration is excellent over my car radio muting the music during Route Instructions. As for the navigation, I initially tested it on some local routes that I knew well. In two of the instances it didn't choose the quickest route but chose the mail A roads. Unless I am missing something in the set up of course. I chose the direction I knew to be a slightly quicker route using minor roads and the Co Pilot immediatly recalculated the route to that which I had started driving. I purchased Active Traffic within the Co Pilot App, and after settting up a Hot Spot on my HTC Desire S (also Android) to enable Mobile Internet on my Tab, tested it by inputting an address in West London during the morning Commute. Almost immediatly I was prompted with an alternative route saving me 40 minutes because of traffic delays. In summing up I would say this seems an excellent App for Android and so far has woked flawlessly with my Acer Iconia. |
[2012-01-12] chaugi: Excellent app! I have tried Sygic, Navigon, Wyse, Shturmann, Navitel, iGo, nDrive on Android and TomTom on windows mobile. Maps are detailed and acceptably fresh, routing is almost very good 4 of 5. App usability and features 5 of 5. Ease of use 4 of 5 (because of features). Battery usage is fine, seems to be better than Sygic. There are few things to make it the best: 1. - disable snapping to road, as in walking mode you are alwayse snapped to road, may be after 3 meters it should be detached from main road. Same applies to driving in places where are new roads, so navigator goes crazy :) 2. - pinch zoom and map panning should be a bit more subjectively fast (SGS2) at least in 2D view. 3. I think Country should be selected first as in Sygic then City, currently you choose city and there is big list of ones. As well as previous street names should be remembered as cities are, same applies to street numbers, better to remember combinations for easier reuse, not everyone uses category of recent destinations 4. - of course Trial mode for users to try is the must on Android market, to pay such amount of money. Thanks God I did buy Navigon - its UI an functionaly are really poor. |
[2012-01-11] Andrei: Good navi! Surprisingly good and smooth both in auto and walking. One wish - add "avoid tonnels" to the route modification. |

[2012-01-06] m: Wildfire s good app Very good, like the fact you don't need data to use it, handy when outside home country. I would give it 5 stars if the voice guidance still worked when put phone in sleep mode to save battery life. |

[2012-01-06] Iain: Works really well Works ace on my structure with cm7 rom.. |
[2012-01-06] Jon Inge: Now it works again :) Seems to start every time on Android 4 now (Samsung Galaxy Nexus). Thanks. |

[2012-01-05] Andrea: Superb Superb I'm a proffessional driver in the UK and CoPilot live puts virtually every sat nav and other phone app in the shade. Superb app. |
[2012-01-04] Rik: Getting better Latest up dates are good, but I miss the resize option |
[2012-01-04] Andrew: Works perfectly on HTC Desire HD. Stock ROM. If there was one improvement is that the default voices are clipping a bit. |
[2012-01-02] Mark: Better than tomtom Quick, easy to use and gets you there first time. Top app! A must have for S2 owners. |
[2012-01-01] David: Nice App Very quick on Desire S. Would be 5 stars if I could import routes from Google Maps on the PC or TomTom itineraries shared by friends. |
[2011-12-31] Fraser: Very good on galaxy S2 Works really well with my S2. GPS locks normally under 10 second, loads of settings to tweek how it works, alerts and detours. Just hoping that when ICS, for the S2 is released that Co pilot live will work just as well, if not, better. great navigation software. |
[2011-12-28] David: Co pilot sat This app is fantastic !! Why buy a seperate sat nav? |
[2011-12-24] the 12/25/2011 Full ICS support? Full support usually means it works... Which it doesn't!!!! Nexus S |
[2011-12-23] Jörg: does not work on ICS/Nexus S |
[2011-12-23] zImage: One of the best navigation software I ever used Well integrated with the rest of the system. Not too resource heavy for the features it has. A little bit pricey. |
