AA Restaurant Guide 2012 (v. 1.2) Разработано Automobile Association (TheAA) |
The AA has over one hundred years of experience in seeking out, assessing and recommending the best places to eat and stay in the UK. The 2012 AA Restaurant Guide app focuses on finding you the best places to eat, from country inns on wild moors to city-centre hotels handy for a spot of retail therapy; and from lively bistros on local high streets to destination restaurants of international standing.
All listed restaurants have been researched by experts and awarded AA Rosettes by a professional AA inspector for the quality of their food. The restaurant’s entry can include a description, price information, telephone number, website addresses and more.
The AA Restaurant Guide 2012 includes the following main features:
- Over 1,000 recommended AA Restaurants in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Restaurants graded from 1 to 5 Rosettes
- Search options e.g. search for an Italian restaurant
- Price information
- Description
- Telephone numbers
- Search around your current location
- Search around a location of your choice
- Locations displayed on Google maps
- Links to websites
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Rubbish It's fair enough that it can't list every restaurant in the UK: it's a transfer of the printed AA guide. But when it doesn't show all the entries in the printed AA guide, there's something wrong. Eg I looked up Cartmel and it only showed one restaurant. But that review refers to another restaurant in Cartmel and even says "see entry". How? You can't search by restaurant name. This app really feels like it's been put together on the cheap and in a hurry. Disgraceful attempt to harvest your details for spam |

[2012-07-27] A Google User: Terrible Absolute rubbish shows me restaurants in Glasgow when asked to supply by Heathrow wtf!!! |
|
[2012-06-19] A Google User: You need to fill in your details which will be used to send spamverts to you before you can use the app. |

[2012-05-06] A Google User: Cool Cool fun app to.see what's around. Great to find places near you that u never really paid any attention too |

[2012-04-20] A Google User: Worse than useless I looked up Bodmin, in Cornwall. The AA app thinks the only places to eat are in Truro, more than 20miles away. I then wanted to see what the app thought of a particularly good restaurant in Newquay. It was not listed - according to the app, there is nowhere at all to eat in Newquay. This is outrageous. It is more reliable to walk around town and pick a place to eat at random. Come on, AA, if you do not want to help, do not bother publishing your app. |

[2012-03-10] A Google User: Not bad A few omissions but have discovered a couple of local restaurants I didn't know about so has come in handy. |

[2011-12-19] A Google User: A GOOD START. Works quite well & provides some useful info. As with the other AA guide apps, this one also unfortunately doesn’t allow any posting of user reviews or ratings, so we have to put total faith in the AA’s own rating system! It’s a shame, therefore, that the rating isn’t shown in the search results list, & it doesn’t appear until one clicks through to each individual entry. Similarly, it would be nice to have an option to Sort order based on ratings (the Sort order currently appears to be only for distance from chosen/ current location). There is a good choice of search Filters, though, for particular cuisine styles. The Vegetarian filter is sadly a little under-designed. It merely seems to include those restaurants which have a veggy option, which nearly all do, nowadays. Better would be for it to filter those which are predominantly veggy, or have Numerous veggy menu choices. Otherwise, it would probably be safer for a veggy to just ring a restaurant before traveling there, to confirm what veggy choices, if any, the restaurant has available on that day. A generally good app, though, & I hope the database will become more extensive. |
