An application that can track your travels of your Android by storing your GPS locations. Draws the route real-time on either Google or OSM maps. Uses coloring to render speeds. Share though GPX, KMZ formats or summarize with a tweet. Take notes on your track with pictures, video, audio and text.

Nice. Works great to track my bike ride while in my pocket (no GPS line of sight needed). Distance overlay while tracking does not always update. User interface could be a little cleaner, but still I like this app a lot.

Nice app, but ... ... why does it request soooo many permissions?! Especially things like "start on boot" and "phone number" are a no-go! (Yes, I know about Android memory management, but I don't want any app to waste even one split second of CPU/battery to load into memory, just to get unloaded after a few minutes, because other apps request RAM and I only use "Open" GPS Tracker once a week!)

Good app, lacks good data screen Great tracking appp. I really wish it had a bike computer screen that showed all the stats data in large numbers (without the silly graph). Stats screen is tiny text which is impossible to read while in motion. Speed/dist overlays on map are ok but still pretty small and only current spd is shown (no max, avg, etc.)

Crashes on Galaxy Nexus The app crashes on my Galaxy Nexus every time I try to share a track. So, basically, I have no idea if any of the rest of the app works at all since I can never see a track.

Was great, needs update This app worked fantastic on my galaxy ii skyrocket until I updated the OS from gingerbread to ice cream sandwich. It is spot on for my current location but the tracer lags behind and eventually gives up and draws a line from its last position to where I am. Display randomly shuts off from time to time.

Great My first impression is of good tool to use out in the woods for mountain biking where even GSM connection I not always possible and Internet is something unthinkable. I hope that I'll be still happy with this app when I use it while riding.

Auto pause doesn't work This is a good gps tracker but it is let down by the auto pause. When you stop moving the auto pause appears to kick in, but when you start moving the elapsed time jumps ahead to the actual time that you started moving again so the longer you've stopped for, the lower average speed you will have. Others have reported it but by the replies they don't seem interested in fixing it.

When I tried [Share the track] (I intend to send the GPX file to my PC,) the app stoped working. I guess the problem is my Galaxy Nexus has no external SD card. I tried a few times, re-install the App. the problem still there. I searched the file with .GPX name, not found. at this point the App is useless for me. Update: It works on my Acer A500. ICS , OpenGPSTracker directory was created. My Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone: JellyBean. No OpenGPSTracker directory was created.

Works great for me I use it for tracking when I go places and it just works. I then export the track as a gps to Google Earth and and enjoy a nice detailed view of the track.

Decent But the overall feel of the app was rough and unfinished. Was there a setting for speed scale? I looked through various settings and didn't see such. Could have missed it, but that would still show the roughness of the app layout. Functionality looks good, just not intuitive in basic design.

Not certain why or how, but when this app starts, battery life goes to nothing, phone gets very warm. Evidently, some setting in my phone conflicts with this apps settings. As I cannot get current Lat/Lon from this app, I'm uninstalling. FWIW, phone might be to blame since similar issue seen before installing this app.

Good basic tracking If you want to record your track easily and be able to load to other devices later, this works well. I appreciate being able to run it without a data connection. It does not require an hour with a manual to get started the way some more feature rich packages do.

Wird immer langsamer Auf meinem HTC One S wird es mit der Zeit immer langsamer. Nach ca. 1 Stunde Track-Recording ist es praktisch nicht mehr bedienbar weil es extrem langsam reagiert.

Best tracking tool! Good job! Working like a charm on Htc Desire. My best tracking app. Only one negative experience: the icon after taking a photo as a note is missleading! Only saving the last picture with the Done button, with the icon button you replace the one you just take. I thougth, it will allow to take another picture. Unfortunately now I have only a few pics from my last trip :( Another button to take next pic without exiting to map would be great. Thanks.

Furcsán viselkedik a gps ikon ennél az appnál Minden más gps-t használó app esetén a gps ikonja addig villog amíg meg nem találja a pozíciómat. Nos ennél az appnál a gps ikon állandóan villog sőt néha eltűnik! A rögzítés pontosnak látszik de nagyon zavaró hogy nem tudom mikor talált fix pozíciót a program. Ezt a hibát javítani kellene, nagyon fontos lenne. A teló ZTE Libra android 2.3.5 gyári rom. A program korábbi verziói jól működtek. Pat write: "Seems like it try to activate and deactivate gps all the time." Yes i experienced a similar. I hope will be fixed.

Saves my battery Open GPS Tracker is very economical with my Nexus One battery resources. Any other GPS outdoor activity tracking app can't compete with Open GPS Tracker in terms of low power consumption. In other hand Open GPS Tracker provides state of the art features.Well done!

Nice but... This app started out well on my Droid Bionic, but after running it for a couple of hours, it got doggedly slow. So slow, that I could hardly type a waypoint name. Perhaps it had something to do with other app running at the same time, but I installed another GPS app and haven't had any trouble.

Works well -- battery killer I use app to send e-mail when I arrive at defined locations. This creates a trip log. I can't use because of battery drain.

Fail I walked with my Acer A501 tab. OpenGPS started to draw track then stopped on a location and never changed it despite the fact that I went from that location at least 2 km. Also the interface is not optimized for tablets. Zoom with finger gestures doesn't work. Android 3.2
