Maverick: GPS Navigation (v. 1.95) Разработано Code Sector |
Use offline maps and GPS even without an internet connection. This app is great for hiking, boating, geocaching and other outdoor activities.
• Multiple global and regional online maps, including: Bing, Yandex, Open Street Maps, OSM Cycle, OSM Public Transport, Multimap (UK), OutdoorActive (Germany, Austria, South Tyrol), Cykloatlas, HikeBikeMap (Germany), Open Piste Map, NearMap (Australia) and many other maps.
All maps automatically cached for offline use. Use Mobile Atlas Creator to download maps or MAPC2MAPC to convert maps from other formats.
• Share your current or planned position
You can send address, GPS coordinates, link to Google Maps and even map image.
• Navigate easily
Build-in radar shows the direction, distance and estimated time to a point of interest.
• Save places you visit
All waypoint stored in KML file and can be viewed and edited in Google Earth.
• Record tracks with single tap
Tracks are recorded in GPX format and can be viewed in Google Earth and other software.
• Upload tracks to GPSies
Free account is required for uploading.
• Trip Computer
Watch speed, altitude, pitch and many other values.
Only in Pro version:
• Unlimited waypoints and tracks
• Lock compass to bearing
• UTM and OSGB grids
• FourSquare support
We can implement standard Google MapView, but it's limited - no caching and terrain view. If you need it, please email us or leave a comment.

[2012-11-08] joseph: fscking market auto updates!! boo to google.. the new microsoft? thanks to others for don't upgrade warning. using old version. |
[2012-11-07] Goran: Horrible Dont work unistall |
[2012-11-06] Jeremy: Really good OS maps with gps, perf |
[2012-11-06] Kenny: It's ok It's okay |
[2012-11-03] El: Unflexible ... I doesn't display well on my 320x480 screen. Words are cutted and graphics are deformed shown ! This app is (maybe) recommendable for devices with screens, witch resolutions are greater than 320x480. |
[2012-10-30] Steve K: Fantastic Mapping App So useful to be able to choose and cache maps. For cycling I use the OS maps in the UK and open street / cycle maps abroad. A must for outdoors users |
[2012-10-27] Andreas: Very good Sometimes, the screen flickers, but it can be fixed, by changing the zoom level. An improvement would be a function for map caching for offline use. Maps are cached, but you don't have a great deal of control over it. It requires moving around and zooming in and out. |
[2012-10-25] Krishna: Best offline GPS Locator The offline GPS locator is excellent!! Google does not come close which needs at least a Wi-Fi connection to pinpoint current location. |
[2012-10-22] Do: Offline Maps? Seems to cache online maps for offline use... More complex to use than it needs to be, so not for me. |
[2012-10-22] Todd: Extra lines seem buggy (DROID 4) The free version has a bug. It displays multiple parallel red lines between waypoints and current location. These lines come and go as the zoom is changed. Seems pretty fundamental so I am not confident the paid version will have this fixed. |
[2012-10-19] Venkat Reddy: Eeeee Xtrdanary |
[2012-10-18] David: Great app, but unusable offline I like this GPS app the best, but I want to be able to load maps for offline use. It's supposed to be possible, but the reality is something else. Maverick depends on Mobile Atlas Creator to create offline maps, but that program abuses the OpenStreetMap servers, so instead of map tiles you get notices that the application has been blocked. Maverick also points you to a source to download complete map tile packs in AndNav format, but that's a dead link and I can't find them anywhere. That leaves me with no easy way to get offline maps for a planned trip outside of my free data plan zone. I emailed them over a week ago about a problem with the compass cone and haven't received a reply, so I won't bother contacting them about this issue. Too bad, because it works really well with online maps. |
[2012-10-17] Jessica: Confusing a bit? I dont see a USA map, and im confused on how to use this app i dont no how to put in my locations or routes or anything! Ugh please help. Rating is low cause it is confusing me! |
[2012-10-14] Rishad: No navigation Looked good. Could not see navigation |
[2012-10-14] the 10/15/2012 Not so good When I fist went on the app it shut down and it also takes for ever to load.UNINSTALL |
[2012-10-13] Cheech: maverick work's great without phone signal |
[2012-10-13] Sutirtha: Target How to set target |
[2012-10-10] Grrgoyl: Amazing I was pleased when it let me search for MTB trails by plain English names and not official street addresses. I liked that the map was still there after exiting the app and shutting off data. But the map STILL stayed after a complete reboot. WOW. Will probably go pro. Excellent work! |
[2012-10-09] Chris: Worst GPS app ever Search function is useless... Tried to send me to another state for a 15 minute drive. :-( |
[2012-10-01] florin flueras: Problem The address search doesn't work anymore.. It will be better with an option to have the map in full screen.. and if you are offline to display whatever level of zoom you cached even if you are at a different level.. |
[2012-09-28] Apehanger: Don't pay! This free version is tons better than the 'Pro' version. Very good program so don't pay to downgrade!! |
[2012-09-28] Mixolottian: Not what it claims! Google Navigation is not a bad app in terms of doing what its supposed to on ICS, so the main point in trying a different app is to have whole countries on your phone for offline use. That's a hefty download for the US, and it should have kept my phone busy for at least several minutes if this app really does what it claims! This didn't happen, and I don't want to find out for sure on the back roads of South Carolina! For useability, it does look much nicer than Google! |
[2012-09-26] Kestutis: Flickering on tablet Map is flickering using asus transformer tablet. Tried to change map options...No go, need some help |
[2012-09-16] Prakhar: Aembgel Jhato |

[2012-09-05] Chocoking: Needs improving The layout is a but confusing and I don't know how to get directions |
[2012-08-31] .: can't download maps! caching large area's sucks. |
[2012-08-27] Jesse: good fun when you are 4x4'n in a new place. also a life saver if lost on new trail's |
[2012-08-21] Ahmed: زي الزفت كلام فارغ ولا يسوى ربع فلس |
[2012-08-21] Foracijus: saimis this app is just awesome, the way it saves maps for offline use is so fast and easy. love it and recomend for everybody! |
[2012-08-20] vcoolpenguin: Screen flashes Does not work well on my Asus transformer running ics. Too bad, has potential. Uninstall after several attempts to load maps. |
[2012-08-18] 政皓: Great! |
[2012-08-15] /' 'ordor: Wrong Continent I'm also standing on land, not in the middle of the ocean. Boo. |
[2012-08-08] lucmove: Good. Just good. Lacks Google maps, but the Bing and OSM maps make up for it. Besides, those can be cached, unlike Google maps. A search tool makes this app even more useful, although it's pretty dumb. If I am, say, looking at the map of Boston and search for Mercer Street, why does it have to return Mercer Street in Jacksonville instead of Boston? Downright stupid, forces me to enter the name of the city with every search query. Also, it won't navigate to the wanted location after it's found; rather, it just looks like nothing happened, it took me a while to figure out I am supposed to zoom out and look for the checkered flag, where the wanted location is. Foolish design about that, too. All in all, it still can't beat Google Maps, because it doesn't support car or public transportation routes. Good, but also because it's free, I wouldn't pay for it. (*Note: Mercer Street, Boston and Jacksonville are random names I picked for the sake of example. I don't live in the US.) |
[2012-08-07] Brock: Awful The title says it all |
[2012-08-06] vstabill36: No maps Can't get maps to show up. Making it worthless. |
[2012-08-06] Dung: Mab |
[2012-08-03] folkdisco: Okish Pretty good to be able to pre-cache maps, and use British OS maps. But why can't you hide the big task bar. It's a waste on a low resolution screen. |
[2012-08-02] Allix: Great for a free map app! I've cheated the system and only have wifi on my phone but no 4g so I can't use the Google map app when I'm out of wifi range. This app loads the maps into your phone so I can turn on my GPS wherever I am and it works! I love this app! |
[2012-08-01] Paul: Good, could be great Really useful mapping app, UK OS map support is great. A better way of caching maps before going offline would be good, and the map flickers at some zoom levels. |
[2012-07-30] Jason: Needs google maps Good app, but would be WAY better with google sat views |

[2012-07-25] -RobW-: Almost perfect Tried out a few GPS tools, and this is definitely the best compromise between features and simplicity. Doesn't rotate the map as you navigate, but the direction you are facing is very easy to read. Entering lat-long coordinates manually is much better thought out than any of the others and very easy. The interface is truly superb, clearly designed by someone who actually uses the app AND can imagine how other people use it. Choice of map providers is great. Really, as someone else said, with a better way of caching maps, this would be perfect, but I understand the difficulties with agreeing things with the providers. I've given it 5 stars as I'm seldom out of network coverage, so for me, I can't fault it. Going to give it a few more days trial then will get the pro version to help support later development, at £3 it's a steal. |
[2012-07-25] Don: Screen map flickers Unable to use because all the map screens are constantly flickering or refreshing |
[2012-07-21] Alok: awsome please allow google maps cache to this awsome app, i unfortunately bought alpine quest and it UI is total pain in the ass |
[2012-07-20] Wahab: Maps How can i get UAE map ? I want to download it. |
[2012-07-19] gajendra: gajender its realy work |
[2012-07-19] Juan: Best of its kind! This app is one of a kind use it all the time at work. Don't rate low because Google took down they're maps complain to Google. Keep up the great work. Oh n needs a menu button for the galaxy nexus. Other maps are just as good stop whining. |
[2012-07-16] Tandava: Uses battery fast On the default settings the battery is used at about twice the rate of "phone only" operation. Does anyone know if tweaking the settings helps? |
[2012-07-15] Abhimanyu: SuPeRlYk.......!!!! I was waiting for a simalar kind of app dat could run even if I am offline and Here it is.....!! Dont hesitate just click the install button......!!! ^_~ |

[2012-07-14] Alex - Petre: Very Good App This is a very good app, the best features that I personally like are: - the offline map cache, which works pretty good - the availability of multiple types of maps in the same app, easy to switch between them. - very useful icon for information on GPS status, even with the number of connected satellites. - the possibility to load GPX tracks, even made from BikeMap. - Multiple views and useful info on location and status - and there are many more... I really enjoy this app, and it helped me a lot in my bicycle trips. Many useful features in a FREE app. For some future improvements I'll suggest some more offline maps support, I would prefer it in the way that MapDroid has, but with some more detailed maps. Anyway I want to thank the developers, they made a really great job, and I appreciate that it's free, and I hope that it's going to stay free. I recommend this app for anyone, from car to bicycles. |
[2012-07-14] Jerid: Very easy and accurate I own an LG P925g, and all of the sensors work perfectly for me. The saved points are very accurate. I am running firmware V21C for the LG P920. |

[2012-07-09] Ross: Even 6 stars from Bulgaria Highly recommended for android users in BULGARIA because you have the choice to use Ovi Maps –they have street names of Bulgaria contrary to other maps developers which have very disappointing maps. Google ,please find Bulgaria finally... ! |
[2012-07-07] Ro: Compass Great app, I thought compass was going in the wrong direction first but it is actually correct! |

[2012-07-01] Joao: Phone tracker |
[2012-06-29] Solaris: Not worth it! It's not what I was led to think: the offline map mode is very poorly done, in fact, it never worked for me. The available maps are inaccurate in many areas and not up to date. It's difficult and frustrating to use. How did those five-star rating come about? |
[2012-06-26] Kevin: Couldn't download Google maps failed to download |
[2012-06-26] gordon.hossick: Great Navigation App Just been up highest mountains in Scotland and England and this app is a must to help you get there. You know where you are even in the worst weather. I went wrong a couple of times reading my map and used Maverick to get back on the right trail. |
[2012-06-25] William: Doesn't open all the way doesn't work well on the LG Optimus |

[2012-06-15] Terry: Very good, but ... Great for walking using OS 1:25000 maps, however attempting to upload a track to GPSies crashes the app. Also, I may have missed it, but I can't find an option to clear a track. It would also be useful to be able to save a track as a kml file for transfer to home PC. |
[2012-06-13] Gaurav: bad & very bad |
[2012-06-05] sudhir: Good |
[2012-06-04] Hassan: Goood .. +1 It is vrey good .. I lovet |
[2012-05-31] Ian: Most used app on my phone. Updated to latest version with Android4. Step backwards: Now lost "my location" option - fundamental after scrolling around maps to be able to find yr location. It now has info bars permanently on top. Why? What was wrong with previous method of using bottom left corner icon to see other pages. When people use maps on small phone screens they need every bit if available screen to look at the maps. Put back an option of turning off all other info but map. Otherwise awesome most used app on my phone. |
[2012-05-28] Matthias: Outdooractive map layers currently not working Nice app, but unfortunately the Outdooractive map layers are not working since around 2 weeks. |
[2012-05-26] SergeyP: Bug, Bad support At first I downloaded the free version of this app, and then decided to buy "Pro" version, because I wanted to use more custom folders with downloaded tiles. I bought it only to discover that even "Custom 1" folder that is still working in Free version doesn't work in Pro. "Not a big deal", I thought -- let's write to author, he'll fix this issue in a few days. So I wrote an email, attached all screenshots from free and pro versions, and the answer was "Have you selected 'Custom 1' map?" -- strange, yes? I replied and asked author do he need some more information from my side to troubleshoot the bug? Two weeks passed -- no more answers. Really disappointed. /// Another reason to buy Pro version was Wikipedia POI. Another disappointment, because 4squares places are in the same list as Wiki articles -- no way to filter out 3-5 Wiki articles from the list of 500 cafe and shops; no way to switch from article in my native language to English, very narrow panel to read article. /// So I don't recommend to buy this. Better take a look at OsmAnd app -- it has functionality to download the whole country from OSM in one click -- just awesome! |

[2012-05-05] gtamir: Poor support Nice app. But poor support. |
[2012-05-02] Hans: Unreliable Unsortable track names, incompatible with any other track manager. Cannot reliably record anything but very short tracks - always stops recording after a while. Switched to Locus. |
[2012-05-01] bolton: yeah! awesome |
[2012-04-21] Marlon: warren a crap gps not working |
[2012-04-17] Andy: A great supplement to other GPS apps I have memory map qct charts on my SD card and use MMTracker app with these. However I am finding Maverick particularly useful working alongside this because it can view and cache a whole range of other maps (see Overview for examples). With some other apps you have to specify which map tiles to download; with Maverick whatever you view on screen when you are online is cached for offline use, so easy peasy. When your tile cache gets too large delete it. The other good feature I like is the ability to share the current location, by text message, email, etc. Could be useful in an emergency. |

[2012-03-31] Aaron: Nice app but.... Love the features this app offers. Found a bug though, running a Droin Bionic with latest version when a try to take a photo for a saved waypoint the app instantly crashes every single time. |
