KNOWN FIRMWARE ISSUES (please do not report them):
- Samsung phones: Because of a firmware bug those phones may report extreme battery consumption for GPS Status (and for other programs using sensors) even if it is not running. This is harmless and no power is consumed! Just ignore it and let's hope that a future firmware upgrade will fix this.

- Drois 3: The initial Droid 3 firmware does not implement the satellite status API so you will not see the satellites and the signal strength bars. The rest of the features should work properly.

- Motorola phones: Turning your phone to airplane mode will turn off the GPS receiver too on some phones. This is a hardware limitation.

- Droid Charge: Reports 0 altitude

- LG Optimus: The phone cannot report the SNR values correctly (all signal bars will be maxed out)

- Nexus One/S: With Andoid 2.3 it cannot report NMEA sentences. This means that the DOP/HDOP/VDOP values are not available.

Thank you!!! Would give more than five stars if I could! This app has helped my GPS lock on so much faster, it is very impressive! Simply open app, watch for time to fix on satellite, once fixed hit your home key & open any other app like Maps or Endomondo. You'll be impressed with how fast you locate satellites. Endomondo is now usable again!! Thank you developer!!!

Finally Tried loads of apps and this is by far the best for speed, accuracy and simplicity to use. Just great.

Give it time I had to root to upgrade to ICS, and I thought the ROM borked the GPS. Turns out it didn't. After several days I was back to not only getting a lock in under 10 seconds (faster than before), but also locked on to more sats - 21~26, compared to 17~22! Get this app, use it at least twice a week, and wait a few days before asking a professional if your GPS is broken. Also, allow it to automatically download AGPS data.

It Really Works The GPS on my Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch had become just about useless, with all of my GPS apps taking 20-30 minutes to lock onto satellites, if at all. After installation of this app, all those apps acquire in less than 10 seconds. This app claims to reset the GPS, empty a cache and download orbital information about satellites that's good for 4 to 5 days before having to refresh. Whatever it was, it worked wonders for me. The other neat things this app does are all bonuses.

Very helpful for diagnostics; needs more GLONASS This utility is a great way to diagnose your GPS connectivity and other sensors' functionality. Also provides interesting raw data. I recently got a phone with a GPS/GLONASS chip, and those are becoming commonplace. As far as I understand, GLONASS satellites are represented by higher-numbered dots. However, I feel like this program can benefit from better GLONASS options - like, strength display for GLONASS (current bar graph only services GPS), different color for GLONASS satellite dots, options for showing (and maybe using, if it's possible?) only GPS or GLONASS. Other than that, this app is perfect for its purposes, and well worthy of donation.

Outstanding GPS application! This is the best compass application I've seen so far, and SO much more. If you're a bit of a GPS nut you're going to love this app. Gets sat lock really quickly, great A-GPS functions, lat/long, acceleration, speed, altitude, temperature... even shows satellite signal strength. If you don't like the adverts (and they're really not that obtrusive) then the donation version is very cost-effective. Just watching the screen is fun in itself and if you're out hillwalking, off-roading or orienteering it'll be an indispensable tool. Well done EclipSim, five stars for sure. I love this app! :-) Samsung Galaxy Note 717.

App hides Android notification bar App works fine. Only point of criticism is that on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Gio with Android 2.3.6) the app hides the Android notification bar, even when option "Force full screen UI" is disabled.

So loveably geeky It might look a touch banal at first but this app offers some tools for everyone from GPS geeks to day to day users. The A-GPS download allows faster fixes (a must for some phones such as my wife's) to magnetic field strength information (just plain geeky for me) Considering it is free you really should try it out. Read the FAQ if anything strikes you as odd or confusing, everything has a purpose. There is a lot of data on one screen. At worst you have a way to share your exact location, get faster GPS fixes, and with the radar mode find your car in a large parking lot. At best you'll have a powerful tool to help calibrate sensors, get detailed GPS location data easily (Even has a QR code mode so you can share to a foreign device really quickly), and learn a thing or two. Enjoy
