Acting as a car blackbox, dash cam or auto DVR, DailyRoads Voyager continuously records videos and captures photos during your journeys. The app automatically records everything, but only important events are retained for future reference or as evidence. Love it Update: the video is no longer dark - however, the camera will pause while recording. The video literally stops for a second and then continues. This is also affecting the recorded files. It occurs every 10-15 seconds or so. I have to set it to a very low quality to avoid this. If we can get Hd working again, that would be awesome!

Fantastic app, I use it every time I drive My only suggestion to users is not to use the default configuration. If you have the storage space available bump the values up to take video in 30 minute blocks with a 4 gig rotation file size, 720p, medium quality and everything is great. My only real complaint is that the speed math for the GPS doesn't take enough samples between updating the subtitle files and you end up with wildly inaccurate speeds for a couple of seconds when accelerating and decelerating. Fix that, and I will give it 5 stars.

casmim Great app, does what it says but....I have an issue on my Motorola razr, once in 5-6 times after using this app the camera si blocked, and unavailable to the camera application or to another one. I use it with autostart when connected to car holder.

Great app! Use this daily. Would love to see split screen operation for use with front facing camera. Developer should also consider intergrating LED on very low power so that recording can be verified from the front of the vehicle, much like emergency vehicle dash cams. A must have.

Landscape video upside down works great but need to fix landscape orientation. video is upside down in relation to on screen controls, SG3. i still see they still havent fixed the samsung galaxy s3 upside down video in dock mode when the connector is on the left side.

Great app and it's free! Works flawlessly! I like the large video button, easy to turn on and off and easy to know if it's running or not. Been using it for a few days only and so far no bugs at all, all recorded videos record fine and viewable. I would get this even if I had to pay for it.

Great!!! Default autostart doesn't work that well. But combining this app with Tasker + TecTiles creates magic: app lounches and starts recording when i put the phone into the car mount, and stops when i disconnect charger. Waiting only for HDrecording support for GS3.

Portrait mode Very early rating, but am disappointed that this doesn't seem to facilitate putting my phone in a portrait mode car dock. I can't reorientate the screen when it's in operating mode. Also the menu system seems a bit confusing to me. And finally, why so many date representation options..why not just have it use the first that the device running out its using?.the owner has already decided how they want to see dates represented.

Great app. I really wanted to like this app. I tried 2 or 3 other dash cam apps and this one has all the features I wanted. Unfortunately, it only works for a few minutes on my GSII and then crashes my phone so bad I have to pull the battery. UPDATE: After e-mailing the developer, they replied with the suggestion that I turn down the video settings. Bingo! Works as advertised.

Fantastic app but 1 gripe This is a great app and I would recommend it to any driver. Would be 5 stars if the video would orientate correctly. All of my videos come out upside down and I cannot place it the other way up due to in car holder. Hopefully something that can be fixed easily in an update :-)

Great app Great app but for some reason the controls appear upside down when I use it on my Galaxy S3 in landscape mode with the USB port to the left. The video, oddly, appears correctly right side up though. Still a 5 star app though. Helps to make a potent NFC controlled "Get in my car and start up maps & overlaid dashcam controls" automation, wonderful for those "Can't your iPhone do that?" moments.

Kills the GPS signal when in use. It was working great for about a week - but suddenly, on my Samsung Galaxy S3, Google Navigation goes into an infinite loop of "Searching for GPS...". This ONLY happens when DailyRoads Voyager is running! If I launch Google Maps first, enter an address, then Navigate, then run Voyager, it works for a couple of minutes before losing GPS signal again. I wish I knew why this happens. :(

Robert is the best! Robert's the author of this app, and is very responsive and helpful. Initially, this app would crash on my Samsung Transform Ultra and T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. Robert then sent me a beta version to test. He fixed it!

Not impressed When set to the same quality as the normal camera on my phone it takes twice as much memory for same video legnth, with all speed and other info turned off. Also, shows true pictue to begin with but zooms in when recording starts. Could have been great.

Great, but need to be able to flip screen Great great app, but you really need to be able to flip the screen. My car mount is horizontal in the opposite direction, so the app displays everything upside down. Seems like it would an easy fix. Thanks for the app!

Locks up and crashes LG 4X HD It will lock up and crash my LG 4X HD and there is no exposure setting to compensate for LG's poor camera in low light.

Best one so far. Tried this app first. Tried a few others looking for a better photo feature. This is far better than any app that I tried. I would suggest an upgrade to the photo taking ability. And the ability to go to full screen when shooting video .

Does what it says on the tin This app records my commute from my dash mount car dock without me having to do anything! Set and forget, unless something happens. I like that my SD won't fill up because of the max space allocation feature! A widget would be convenient, but it works great without one.

Don't need a large sdcard I only have under 900mb of space and that's plenty of room to record 20 minutes of HD video in 720p with audio. This program will constantly replace your old recordings as you drive and you can adjust the amount of space it can use for video. So you don't need to go out and buy a new memory card.

keeping beeping This app is excellent except that I have turned off all the sounds reset it tried everything and it still gives off little bleeps about every 5 minutes while driving very annoying. I have capture sounds off and turned to 0 but no matter what I try it get those bleeps

RadBonos I use DailyRoads Voyager on every trip, absolutely love it, and have managed to catch quite a few idiots on the roads, fortunately no accidents though. I use a dedicated android unit (LG P620 3D Optimus) which has problems with the sim reader, but otherwise fully functional, so it is permanently installed in my car. What I also like about it is that it has changed my driving habits for the better.

Something of a flaw... It works, it appears to work well, except the GPS co-ords and speed overlay are not present in the saved video (thus it's no different to that recorded using the built-in camera, really). Please fix! ;-)

Excellent app. Works perfectly on HTC Desire. Most Excellent app. Works perfectly on HTC Desire. Now using HTC One X and only issue is the battery overheating but that's down to the phone not the app. A must have app for all professional drivers. It caught the bus driver who took my mirror off and denied it.

Great app I am still having problems with the video recording on sgs2 (photo works fine) despite the latest update, changing 3 roms so far just to get this app to work (on cyogenmod now) and changing the resencoder multiple times. Great app, the idea is brilliant, the app is free definetly the best car recording app. Keep up the good work dev!

Unreliable I'd like to give this app a high rating as it could be really useful, but unfortunately it is just too unstable. It crashes every time after recording for a few minutes. Phone needs to be rebooted after app crashes. This might not be the developer's fault, I've also tested every other free dashboard cam app and every single one of them crashes just the same. This might be an issue related to HTC devices or the ICS OS.

Great app Works well on my galaxy s3. Only slightly annoying is when you upload to youtube, the speed and gps indicator wont transfer! Only see speed etc when you view videos in the app itself! In fact, maybe its a good thing, esp when speeds reach over 100mph! Forget what i said, great app, get it!

Somewhat Useful Used to crash a lot on my HTC One X, but after the update seems to be working a little better. Still crashes when disconnecting charger and auto charger disconnect shutdown is used when the screen is off. 5 stars if this is fixed.

great app, but power hog great app, but with HQ video, audio, GPS enabled, my phone loses 40% of battery even when plugged in. No fault of the developer or software...just a very battery intensive thing to do so much at once. I shut off GPS and audio, and lowered video quality and it runs very well and does not discharge the battery. The UI could use some tweaking, but I am sure that will come in later versions. All in all, a very good app!

Most-used app! This is an excellent app but it does not work well with HTC Rezound because of the phone's lighting issues. Works very well but only at night. It worked fine on my Droid 2. The developer is top notch he will work with you if you have a problem.

Great app with some caveats EXCELLENT Developer!!! I'm having problems shutting the app down, I can't get the "chirps" from the camera starting/stopping video recordings to stop, and I think that the audio issues causes occasional loud blasts of "fuzz" through my car's bluetooth speech system (SYNC) when talking on the phone. I'm changing the recording length so that the "chirps" occur less but I have to rate this 4 stars until I can easily shut off the app (stays on despite closing it via the pop-over widget) and the beeps shut off entirely (no way to know if the "fuzz").

Rear Facing Camera It would be awesome to have rear facing camera support. Maybe a split screen option. We use DriveCam in the ambulance that records both front and rear. It helps so much if there is an accident and it goes to court.

Inverted video in Landscape App only properly supports one landscape orientation in a dock (up-is-left). My Galaxy Nexus dock is configured the other way around and although the app overlays and menus orient themselves correctly, the video is recorded upside down.

Broken since update! The developer still hasn't been able to fix recording issues on ICS on the Galaxy S2. Namely, background recording still crashes a lot, and the exposure is locked at the start of recording, so video is useless in different lighting conditions. Switched to Autoguard to see if that is any better.
