[2011-07-16] Danny: Horrible download USA/north American maps and always says unnamed roads. Tech support no response |
[2011-07-15] THE LEADA: Most small streets in my city are not listed.. |
[2011-07-13] Daniel: Great App for Vibrant. Doesn't work on Acer Tablet Apparently this will not play well with Android 3.0. Please update the app so it won't FC every button I press. |
[2011-07-13] Steve: Poi dataase sucks. The gps cant find the galleria mall in buffalo ny nor any other mall. For 5 bucks, what do u expect |
[2011-07-13] Tim: BUYER BEWARE!! They released an update, but want you to re-buy to get it!! No discount is offered to paying customers!! |
[2011-07-12] Hazard: Used for recent trip in NV and CA. Worked perfectly well from start to finish, no issues found. HTC Desire 2.2 |
[2011-07-12] glanza: Used on a mytouch 3G slide, very acurate and recalculates routes faster than some dedicated GPS devices I've seen |
[2011-07-11] Thinh: Sluggish map drag. Been ages w/ no map or software updates. Instead of fixing existing problems, charge existing customers new version app. Sensation |
[2011-07-11] Nima: excellent offline GPA had absoultely no problems..comes with the whole of NA! |
[2011-07-10] Steve: I could say a lot about this program but don't I don't like to use that kind of language. It was an experience in futility. |
[2011-07-08] Jason: Great Program HORRIBLE activation/installation unless you have time to kill do not buy this. I purchased and took days with support to get installed/working. Upgraded device lost everything. Purchased version 9 and does not download now a few more days of my wasted time "hopefully" i will get it installed. Bottom line poor support however great program when working |
[2011-07-08] Seth: Extraordinarily poor application, from the draconian authentication issues to the hidden charges and intentional roadblocks to downloadibg map content |
[2011-07-08] dgt: Works great on Samsung Galaxy Tab Wifi This seems to be the only product that works on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Wifi (offline maps) and it worlks very well. I've used it for a few weeks now and had a problem, but ALK Tech Support was very helpful. This software seems to hold it's own with the other top tier voice guidance GPS Nav programs I've used. For the price (almost free), you can't go wrong. The POI feature seems to work well and is current. |
[2011-07-07] Leonard: Terrible. Hassle to install, huge hassle to register. Now several months trying to get a refund. Unsucessful so far. Bought navigon instead, that work |
[2011-07-07] google: This software is so annoying cant update maps with 3g thats the stupidest thing i ever seen .... 3G in somes cases is faster then WIFI |
[2011-07-04] Robert: Interface is ok.. takes some getting used to. Maps are way out of date and not updated in a timely manner when a correction is submitted. |
[2011-07-04] Isaac: Nice app. I did not experience any issues with licensing. I did, however, have crash at start-up issues that started after a failed map download. I remedied this by uninstalling and completely erasing all of the CoPilot data from the SD card, then re-installing. I have had greater success with downloading the maps via the CoPilot Central software. My only gripe with this is that I had to leave my device connected to the PC while the maps downloaded. |
[2011-07-04] Joe: Very unresponsive on Droid. Horrible regitration req. Avoid |
[2011-07-04] brian: Don't waste your money. Use Google Navigation! CoPilot does work, but the maps are at least 6 years old meaning the routing will not always be the best and may be really bad. You cannot route from one region of maps to another region of maps, that is, I could not navigate from Denver to San Diego even though I had all the maps installed. If I'm just going locally, where CoPilot might work, I would rather use Google Navigation. It works well. Sorry for the bad review but that's the way it is. I was really hoping it would work. |
[2011-07-03] Alan: People are way too hard on this app... It does what it says |
[2011-07-03] Peter K-S: Great value and functionality. |
[2011-07-02] Joseph: Will try, then post |
[2011-07-02] monStream00: No free update!!!! |
[2011-07-02] Tony: Interference and menu is a bit tricky and difficult to work with, especially with a new user. |
[2011-07-01] Torche: I just bought 2 months ago. This is BS. I WILL NOT be "upgrading" |
[2011-07-01] Mark: NOT COOL AT ALL! NO FREE UPDATE FOR OLD CUSTOMERS! |
[2011-06-30] Mike: My original problems were from a bad SD card. But the unresposive support is BS. |
[2011-06-30] arnoldmm: Works well htc 4G on T-Mobile good value |
[2011-06-30] Kenny: Saves battery vs Google nav and is pretty accurate, live traffic saves me so much time. Worth the $ |
[2011-06-30] Simon: Why treat your customers like crap? Why can't you just update this version? |
[2011-06-30] Ruben: Love this app great on my Eris |
[2011-06-30] andrew: Why crap on your customers???...I should not have to buy an update tho you call it a new app...you should just update this app...wtf!?! |
[2011-06-26] ja: You get what you pay for. Maps are out of date in many places. Works where accurate though. |
[2011-06-26] Ryan: works amazing on my xoom! please add red light camera poi! |
[2011-06-25] Fox: Updated review: Users of Epic 4G. Any GPS app will not work that best due to hardware issues. Working perfect on my Evo 4G :) |
[2011-06-24] Daniel: Works |
[2011-06-24] Daniel: Works |
[2011-06-24] Randy: After install the program icon just starts installation again. Map never downloaded though progress bar reached the end after a couple hours |
[2011-06-23] Rakesh: Maps are kinda dated but the app is pretty decent for the price. |
[2011-06-23] JP: Awesome app but rendered usless: (activation) after phone os reinstall or phone replacement due to warranty(fixed by calling cust support) |
[2011-06-23] JP: Awesome app but rendered usless: (activation) after phone os reinstall or phone replacement due to warranty(fixed by calling cust support) |
[2011-06-22] perry59: does not work on acer A500 emailed company about the problems I had (see below). the just said they could not test every tablet. according to the market, this is supposed to be compatible with my tablet. IT IS NOT! |
[2011-06-22] Robert: Denies my google checkout code half the time and won't work. Unacceptable behavior for a paid app. Slow support. |
[2011-06-21] Pla: Great app. While app is on SD some 9MB data still on phone. |
[2011-06-21] Vadim: Very bad! Can't find easy adress.:( |
[2011-06-20] Mark: Pretty good. I run into a few bugs within the program...occasionally a different destination will show up or words won't show up. OV |
[2011-06-20] Josh: Needs some UI work. Not intuitive when traveling through multiple states. Pretty solid otherwise. |
[2011-06-20] Paul McDonnell: Nervous about buying, but after assurances via email, I purchased. Says the maps I download are incompatible, refuses to quit. Samsung Galaxy Tablet. |
[2011-06-20] Steve: They nickel & dime you for everything. Maps wouldn't download properly. Desktop app difficult to use. I returned it for a refund. |
[2011-06-18] Daryl: Works Great With Motorola Xoom WiFi Downloading maps took a while, but enables full GPS capability without a 3G/4G data connection on Xoom. Works great; great value for the price. With this app you won't need to pre-load maps on Google Maps prior to your trip. |
[2011-06-18] Ken: Outstanding Program I used this program previously on my various Windows Phones, and now on my HTC HD2 rooted with Android 2.3. It works flawlessly, and the maps are spot on, at least in the areas where I've used it (which is in over 15 states). I like that it does not require an Internet connection. I see a price on Android Market is only $4.95 for the USA version, which is AMAZING!! I highly recommend this program to anyone, whether your phone is Windows or Android. I use it with my BlueAnt bluetooth device. Works perfectly. |
[2011-06-16] Paul: It is an old app ported to smart phones. The interface is klutzy. The directions are very poor. It doesn't give the street names. Just says turn. |
[2011-06-16] Nikolas: Waste of money, does not work on samsung galaxy s2 |
[2011-06-15] bikcmp: Support fixed activation issue after days of waiting. |
[2011-06-15] Skinny: No longer has the google checkout issue. Thanks for fixing! |
[2011-06-15] rich: Can be used without any cell service. Customer service my google checkout issue with a new phone, it is possible to chng. Works great on Vibrant |
[2011-06-14] biu: I use mapquest instead |
[2011-06-13] dewey: App is crap does not work tried all tech supports tricks and it takes them forever to get back to u and on the end nothing then refuse to refund. |
[2011-06-12] troy: Downloaded for business trip. easy install. Flew to USA, could not download maps! Got back, and I could. Lesson is, download you maps before you go. |
[2011-06-12] Loren: Finally Got it Working and Looks Okay After three weeks of being unable to get CoPilot USA running on my Droid X (and posting a couple of bad reviews) and after the third install I finally have it running. And so far it looks okay, maybe even good. But be aware that in order to get the maps downloaded and installed requires either a wifi connection or the use of a computer and a special program you download from their website. This is not a simple 'download and run'. But so far it looks like it will do the job. More later. |
[2011-06-11] Scot: Good program over all. Only major issue is with interstate navigation. Can only load one state at a time. How does long range navigation work? |
[2011-06-10] Justin: Do NOT install. Droid 2Global. Will not load. |
[2011-06-10] festmaster: Activation system broken There is no need for this app to have activation and the developer support has admitted that they cannot fix their broken system. The app worked for a month and is now useless |
[2011-06-10] Kim: Activation fixed! Activation is fixed and the program is a definite value for the price. |
[2011-06-09] Doug Deal: Absolute junk. Good luck getting maps to download. Screenshots look nice though, suitible for framing, since you'll never see it on your phone. |
[2011-06-09] Doug Deal: Absolute junk. Good luck getting maps to download. Screenshots look nice though, suitible for framing, since you'll never see it on your phone. |
[2011-06-09] Roger: takes a long time to download but once it is all in there it works great |
[2011-06-09] brent: Crap! |
[2011-06-08] Rick: The maps are old and had no update since I bought the software. |
[2011-06-08] John: After using this app for about 3 weeks to a month, I have to say it's average. Missing roads, outdated POI, this is why live maps are better. |
[2011-06-06] Cody: Bad Registration! It asks for a 15 digit google checkout number. (google uses a 50 digit checkout number...) Contacting customer support, until it is working, 1 Star it is. |
[2011-06-05] Ed: Thank god it was only $5 I guess if you live in the boonies this is a good product. I figured "for $5 how bad could it be." First thing is that it doesn't speak street names .... OK, $5, whatever. Next is it doesn't say "take next left turn or take next right turn" all it says is "bear right or bear left." There is a BIG difference between bearing left and making a left turn. Maybe in the country when streets are miles apart it's OK but in "the big city" when streets curve and there is another street every 3 blocks that is bad. |
[2011-06-04] Neal: Works great on huawei s7 slim. Lots of setup options to perform the way you want it to. |
[2011-06-04] paul: Good at what it does, but limited + Does really good at getting from point A to B, and can use alternate routes if you request. - If traveling from state to state you must download a 1+ GB map to navigate. |
[2011-06-04] Aaron: Having trouble getting maps Paid for and then downloaded, then it tells me I can't download the map for my state because it needs wifi. Tried to get it on my computer but it needs some download program that needs windows (WINE does not work). I can download city maps but it can't show my town even when all of the surrounding ones are installed. It can only download one map at a time and it takes eleven clicks to get to each one so its taking some time. maybe all of the city maps will give me all of Ca but I'm not holding my breath. |
[2011-06-04] Robert: Still waiting for a fix. Still getting invalid IMEI number on wifi only tablet. Loved it when it worked. :-( |
[2011-06-02] Hamza: It is worth every penny I have paid. |
[2011-06-02] El Guapo: Not bad but lane assist didnt work. Live services didnt pick up that Highway 1 closed which meant 4 hrs driving wasted. Detour function failed too. |
[2011-06-02] Mitch: I had trouble reinstalling after getting a new phone. Got it to install but then it wouldn't register after an update. CS couldn't fix it. Useless!! |
[2011-06-01] Nik: Absolutely perfect offline GPS. Love it! Rooted G1 running 1.6 Super D ROM. |
[2011-06-01] John: Ok, just added 2 stars Submitted email to tech support on their web page and also called them. The guy I talked to (in India) was nice on the phone and I received an email for me to respond with Google 50-digit number. Will add 2 more stars when I get the 15-digit number and the app accepts it. To their credit, ALK was friendly and responsive to both email and phone call. |
[2011-05-31] wwefewref: Yep, registration is terrible. Great app otherwise Why do I have to add a long string of numbers just to get an app to activate? Get rid of this requirement; I understand why it might be needed, but it's irritating. Other than that, it works beautifully. Offline navigation has worked without a hitch (so far), lots of POI, and it's a great complement to Google Navigation. |
[2011-05-31] james: Poor support help.. |
[2011-05-30] Lane: Great App 6 month useage, some issues when changing phones, but fixed with tech support help |
[2011-05-30] Oyvind: Just installed copilot on my Samsung phone. Everything from registration, installation to map downloads works perfect. |
[2011-05-30] Stanley: Downloaded, installed with ease and works perfectly on my Dell Streak. Great navigation app for $4.99. I was worried after reading all the reviews. |
[2011-05-30] SlimDan22: Most ridiculous product registration I would rate higher, but their whole licensing implementation of this app is horrendous, they dont even make it easy to purchase an additional license for another device (In App Purchase would be great), Entering your googlecheckout number is another pain too, ended up having to contact tech support and they gave me a new 15 digit checkout number? Works great now, just disappointed in the deployment of the app, Tech support is great, took 3 days to resolve |
[2011-05-29] paul: No data connection=awesome. Useing problem free for over 1 month. Just type in the 10 digit code that is E-mailed to you to register. Not difficult.EZ |
[2011-05-28] Sam: The other reviews scared me I read the reviews. I hesitated to install it but I did. I got to the part where it says to enter my Google checkout code. That checkout code is huge. There are so many reviews saying that this software does not work and the question of paying extra for maps and there is so much to be concerned about that I did not want to live to regret my descision. Sure it is only $5 but the developers and Google need to do more to assure us that we are not being ripped off. |
[2011-05-28] Radim: Activation code doed not work. I've been waiting 3 weeks now for them to fix it. Their customer service is horrible. |
[2011-05-28] BTO: Dose not work After taking a half hour to download which make it a non refundable item. The maps are missing most major roads. Don't count on this software to work. Iam very disappointed at the lack of support can not get a reply to my emails. I just burned five bucksfor something that dose not work. |
[2011-05-27] SC: The best GPS App out there I had activation issues with Error 703 but was resolved in a few hours from outstanding tech support. GREAT APP and very inexpensive. |
[2011-05-24] sonny: This app ok |
[2011-05-24] William: Not for Acer Iconia A500 I have to give credit to their support, they did respond in a timely fashion and gave me numerous work arounds to try until finally we all gave up and they refunded my $4.99. Like others have stated Google checkout gave me this incredibly long order number, the ALK tech guys had to lookup my order to give me the correct 15 digit code to register the product. I wish the product had worked on my device. I'm still searching for an offline GPS app for my tablet. |
[2011-05-24] Marc: Flawless app! Turn by turn navigation without a web connection. Works great-I use it everyday. |
[2011-05-23] David: I love this app. I haven't had any problems at all. Registration and map downloads worked great. Maps are mostly up to date. |
[2011-05-23] Gerry: Great to have no data connection, but EXTREMELY difficult to understand when using it for a multi-state trip. I just don't get it... |
[2011-05-23] Crey23: Ridiculous registration process This is an updated review...bought the app nearly two months ago, and I have not been able to use it since the initial "14-trail". Something that is absurd after I just paid $5 for it. Google sent an order number longer than 15 digits required, and I cannot get google support (if there is such a thing) to look into it. ALK tech, say that can do anything bcs it'a google issue. But they can do something....get rid of the stupid authentication process....I already bought the app, now let me use it! |
[2011-05-22] Michael: Google Checkout requirement onerous and dangerous I hoped to avoid the problems experienced by other reviewers, and went ahead and purchased this app. Big mistake. It initially took my Google Checkout code (which, particularly since the restricted input box won't accept pasted input, is a ridiculous requirement), and I used it to test navigate twice. I went to turn it on last night to drive somewhere, when I was without internet access, and it was asking for my code, again, on the same phone. RIDICULOUS. Do not buy this product. |
[2011-05-22] Alex: This app sucks, after u pay the $5 it says ur trial has expired, like wtf is this?? |
