CoordTransform is an Android tool that converts between geographic (latitude/longitude as provided by GPS) and UTM coordinates. Input coordinates can be in Decimal Degrees (DD), Degrees Minutes Seconds (DMS) and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM). It's an useful tool for map reading and navigation (land or sea navigation).
Currently only supports 58 reference ellipsoids, but is not capable of transforming coordinates from one ellipsoid to another.

[2012-01-11] Anthony: Hemisphere combo box does not seem to work This tool seems accurate, but I found a few small user interface issues: (1) If I enter a latitude of 33 and longitude of 151 but I actually meant the latitude to be in the southern hemisphere, I thought I could use the combo box at the bottom to change the hemisphere. But it would seem that this is only for output purposes since changing it does nothing. The only way to correct the problem is to re-enter the latitude with a negative sign. This leads me to my second issue (2) which is that you cannot enter a new latitude without re-entering both latitude and longitude. Other than that it seems to work well. I like the feature to email the location. |
