Permissions explanation:

READ_CONTACTS - Car Locator has the ability to "beam" your location to another user who has Car Locator installed. You can select the recipient of your location by using your contact list

SEND_SMS/RECEIVE_SMS - The "beam" communication is done through SMS. This is why the SMS permission is required. No SMS's are sent without your explicit action.

Unistalling! After contacting the maker he told me that "The issues should be resolved in the full version of the app, because in the full version, some of the screen space is not taken by the banner ad at the top of the screeen." Not going to buy this app just because I need a little bit more of real estate. It doesn't show as it should on my device. Text gets overlapped, the arrow pointing to my car is soooo small I can barely see it. Unistalling!

Not so hot although the app was pretty accurate regarding distance from the car, it always indicated the same direction to the car regardless of where I was in relation to the car. Four attempts using my LG Optimus G, four failures, one uninstall.

Not useful Couldn't a GPS signal in airport parking garage to save the car's location, so this app is of no use there. Will try Walmart parking lot next.

Well worth the price I did some field testing and this app on my HTC LTE is accurate to an inch. It also does not slow down my phone...very cool!

Privacy issues I did not install this app because, besides the necessary GPS location data, the app also can read your SMS and MMS messages, and send messages on your behalf. It also gets access to your contacts list, and their information. This access to personal data is not acceptable to me.

Trial impossible No trial usable. When you open the app to learn how it works the app counts that as a trial! Then if you close the app a trial begins when you open it again. I never actually got to try it so of course I won't buy it
