Permissions explanation:

READ_CONTACTS - Car Locator has the ability to "beam" your location to another user who has Car Locator installed. You can select the recipient of your location by using your contact list

SEND_SMS/RECEIVE_SMS - The "beam" communication is done through SMS. This is why the SMS permission is required. No SMS's are sent without your explicit action.

Hard to locate I find it difficult to use and can't really pinpoint my car. I tried the free trial but didn't have a chance to actually test it since every time I opened and closed the app it counted as a trial. Would like a refund.

Very handy & worth the money. Car Locator does what it says it will do. Its neither a CPU hog, nor a gobbler of wireless bandwidth. Installed on an HTC One using T-Mobile's network, I like that CL is car-mode aware. When I remove the phone from the HTC1s car dock cradle, Car Locator automatically takes a GPS read of my location. I don't even have to think about it. The direction finder seems to be fairly accurate. Have had no trouble with CL crashing itself or other running apps I run with it like Google Maps, SiriusXM.

Does not work on S4 with Jelly Bean 4.2 Have Galaxy S4 with Jelly Bean 4.2. GPS is on, google maps work fine, navigator works fine. Purchased this app, It locks up trying to find current location - after 10 minutes, never recovers. Brand new S4 - no other apps on it. Have to go to app manager and kill it to force it to unload.

Confusing graphics This app has no easy way for me to return to my car. Am I really supposed to continually look at the green radar circle and guesstimate my way back? Keeps Opening Unasked Ever since I installed this on my Motorola Photon Q, it keeps launching itself when i try to put my phone in standby. I've since uninstalled it and no other app has picked up the behavior, so I can confidently place all blame on Car Locator.

Russell I love this app. Don't use it much at home. When I am away from home it is the best thing since sliced bread.strange location/ shopping a show or a benda head gets turned around where is the car. I do not have a clue. This app knows there it is. In 2 years it has never missed. Easy to use. Just set location and once that is done you will find your car.

Battery Vampire This app, while useful in its application, is ridiculous in its battery consumption. Car Locator accounted for more than 60% of my battery usage during the 3 months I used the full version of this app. Great intentions, terrible implementation. Only use if you charge your phone every 3 hours.
