BikeRoute (v. Beta 1135) Разработано J Gray |
BikeRoute is the 'almost satnav'* for cyclists, live turn by turn route guidance and cycling specific routes all over the world.
If you find a route plan fails, please send us the start and end addresses so we can investigate!
If you are riding a CycleStreets route and you aren't happy with it, please use the feedback option to report it to CycleStreets. BikeRoute does not do any route planning - routes are planned by Google, CycleStreets.net or MapQuest.
Features:
Back to bike navigator

*By 'almost satnav' we mean that you can enable spoken directions and 'satnav mode' in preferences, which will result in directions being spoken as you cycle along, but at present the app will not automatically replan your route if you stray. You can manually replan the route based on your current location by choosing replan from the menu.

[2011-08-08] Y: it was unable to find an easy address to downtown |
[2011-07-24] ashley: Would be great if it didn't crash The concept is great, but the app usually crashes less than a mile out and stops speaking directions. After putting it into map mode to pan and zoom on tricky junctions, it's then very difficult to get it back into navigation mode. |
[2011-07-24] Eric: Not worth the download google maps is better. Imperial units are a joke who knows what 8724.23 feet is!? Doesn't list the street name to turn on. |
[2011-06-25] Filip: Wonderful :-) the first navigation app, I have tried, with voice, that actually got cycling routes right. If only there were a Danish translation.. |
[2011-06-24] Dr. Alex: Does't work for Seattle WA USA |
[2011-06-23] Matt: Essentially a glorified GPS. Not really cycling specific. Boo. Uninstalled. |
[2011-06-19] city: Doesn't work on my Nexus S. Error message says it can't connect to server. My web connection is fine. |
[2011-06-10] Douglas: Spoken directions is a killer feature. But to really make it wonderful let me load gpx route of my ownand follow that instead of a generated route. |
[2011-06-09] dean: Good when it works but crashes very very often |
[2011-05-30] Mike: Not dependable. Routes are often nonsensical; elevation data is not always available. Overall, a bit more refinement will make this a fantastic app. |
[2011-05-30] Krzysztof: No cycling paths |
[2011-05-24] Ufnb: Great idea but let down by slow or non-existent map downloads. Please fix! |
[2011-05-20] Alex: Gave 5 stars for potential. Biggest improvement: if the app does close it should resume with last destination from current location automatically. |
[2011-05-04] Adam: I'm giving the devs a chance. This app has potential, everything in one place. But after recent update no bike routes in central LDN ;( |
[2011-04-30] James: Features and concept are great but remain useless until map download is fixed. |
[2011-04-26] sofian: I really want to give this app a try, but to load the maps it takes forever. Please fix this issue. |
[2011-04-22] Tyrone: Quite a nice idea, spoiled by slow servers when redrawing maps, oh and how are you meant to shut the app down? Uninstalled |
[2011-04-13] sota767: Should use the address book on the phone for to/from locations. Turn-by-turn is annoying to get out of. Needs more polish. |
[2011-04-12] Leon: Has rarely worked on my HTC wildfire. Regularly posts error messages when asked to find a route. Great idea but too irritating to keep. |
[2011-04-06] James: Fast and light. But doesn't do real satnav (yet?), sometimes maps go blank, crashes fairly frequently. |
[2011-04-04] Alex: Force closes a lot on N1. Great routing but app needs more work. |
[2011-03-20] ml: This app has SO much potential but it keeps force closing to the point where it is unusable (htc desire) |
[2011-03-11] David: There are more places on earth than just the UK and US. Ireland for example. |
[2011-03-08] TriMontana: Not very good |
[2011-03-03] Pegasus: Chooses stupid and impractical routes. useless. |
[2011-02-27] stuart: IT COULD BE BETTER |
[2011-02-25] Jon: Awesome. Why can't other mapping apps load as fast as this ???? Got me out of being lost on second day. Nice job. |
[2011-02-17] Joshua: Needs option to show current location only. Diverts FROM marked cycle lanes in London! Back to Gmaps I'm afraid |
[2011-02-01] roey: nice job....i have tried it with my n1 in tel aviv israel and it worked fine. tnks |
[2010-12-16] James: All in all a great tool that sources excellent CycleStreets routes. Now I don't get lost in London any more! Auto replan needs more work though. |
[2010-11-20] matt: Used to be a great app but no longer seems to work :'( |
[2010-11-14] Taz: Nice app for cycle routes. Wish you could set it to navigate only using cycleways and wish you could turn of caching images. |
[2010-11-08] Chris: Tried Bournenouth to Sandbanks and it wanted me to go to Poole then back across water! |
[2010-11-08] Kristoffa: This has such an excellent chance of being one of the most popular apps for outdoor lovers.shame it works only 20% of the time.otherwise wud be my fav |
[2010-10-28] Ims: It's ok. But route mapping should be allowed a custom feature and settings... |
[2010-10-23] Andy: Unable to plot a personalized route. It will give a route to a place, but will not plot a loop in a town. |
[2010-10-05] Jill Morton: Needs option to navigate on cycle routes only |
[2010-09-29] rob: Very good, identifies most cycle paths and tracks. Preferences needs option to select navigate by track/path only. |
[2010-09-27] matt: Looking good. Be looking for something like this for ages. |
