Text To Speech Speedometer.
Get spoken hints about speed and other infos without loosing attention to the driving environment.
I use my Android phone installed in my motor bike helmet. A blue-tooth headset is for sure a useful gadget with this app.
Also useful in cars due to the speed camera warnings.

IMPORTANT: The speed given by android GPS systems usually arrives suffering a delay of about 1 to 3 seconds.
IMPORTANT: POI (point of interest) lists are stored on SD card. All POI/radar/speed camera and logging related functionality depends on the presence of an SD card.

To register fuel refill, tap on the fuel button in the main window. The fuel window opens. Adjust the fuel amount with the + and - buttons. Finally tap the register refill button.
Set the warning mileage on the same page to get a notification when to refill fuel.
Example of sattelite status announcement: sattelites 2 of 5 means:
- 2 sattelites with ephemeris data
- 5 sattelites visible
Ususally you get a GPS fix when you have at least 4 sattelites with ephemeris data.
Add POIs/radars as you pass by them with only 2 taps. Or use volume keys to add POI.
Supported formats for POI import:
- iGO8: files with extension .txt are interpreted as iGO8 format (like on http://poiplaza.com or http://speedcamerapoi.com)
- KML: example at http://maparadar.com -> exportar para GPS -> NDrive
- GPX: as imported/exported by the Locus app.
TTS-Speedo stores the POI lists in GPX format. After you added at least one POI you will see an example in /sdcard/Android/data/net.gmx.polasy.tts_speedo/files
Try to get database files including direction information (as on http://maparadar.com). This allows that the app only warns on radars in your driving direction.
Do not try to import other file formats, this might crash the app.
TIP: After downloading a radar data base file this usually is located in /sdcard/downloads, the following steps to import the POIs:
- app menu -> 'edit POIs' -> add category
- give the new category of points a name, for example radar.saopaulo
- menu -> 'import POIs'
- select the previously downloaded kml or gpx file
I recommend to use a filter to reduce the number of POIs, delete far away POIs. This speed up the app and saves battery:
- apply a filter for distances greater than 100 km (for example)
- then use the 'remove filtered POIs' menu option
Logging is stored in /sdcard/Android/data/net.gmx.polasy.tts_speedo/files/log
