Garmin Mechanic™ (v. 1.2.1) Разработано Garmin |
Find out what’s really going on under your hood with Garmin Mechanic.
Get insight into how your car is performing with the free Garmin Mechanic™ app. Use the Skidpad to measure lateral acceleration, and track your speed and distance using GPS.
Taking a trip? Garmin Mechanic tracks your trips and calculates total distance, average speed, and estimated mileage to help increase fuel savings. Got more than one vehicle? You can track and collect data on multiple vehicles.
At the pump, enter your fill-up data and track average mileage, total fuel used, fuel cost, cost per mile and more. Set up service schedules for maintenance on all your vehicles, and get notifications when service is due.
Expand your toolbox by pairing the Garmin Mechanic app with our ecoRoute™ HD module (sold separately) and gain access to real-time performance data, including live gauges showing RPM, throttle position, intake pressure, manifold vacuum, boost, instant economy, battery voltage, real-time estimated power and torque, and more. Evaluate your driving style with the Eco Score gauge.
Create gauge sets and save them as Dashboards, and instantly recall them for different driving modes (e.g. towing, economy, racing).
Measure your vehicle's performance with the Acceleration/Dyno feature. Measure 0-30, 0-60 and 1/4-mile times, torque and horsepower.
With the ecoRoute HD module, Garmin Mechanic also calculates your instant and average fuel economy, and checks your vehicle’s self-test status for emissions certification. The vehicle diagnostics feature reads and provides descriptions for over 6500 error codes and resets your vehicle’s Check Engine light.
Export all your vehicle information (including fill-ups, service schedule, service history, sensor data, diagnostic data, acceleration runs and more) to view on your computer.
Features
- Tablet support -- works with 7" and 10" tablets (all Android versions)
- Move to SD Card option
- Track average mileage and service history on multiple vehicles
Features (when paired with ecoRoute HD module):
- View diagnostic codes and reset your vehicle’s Check Engine light
- View and record real-time sensor data
- Calculate real-time and average fuel consumption
- Measure acceleration and calculate 0-30, 0-60, ¼-mile times, torque and horsepower.
- Record OBD sensor data from your vehicle and view it on your computer

[2013-01-13] A Google User: WAIT it's missing an important engine! Nice software, but I cannot believe why the developers haven't included a 2.7 liter engine. Bedside my 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup I found that Chrysler, Dodge and Hyundai all have 2.7 liter engines. Do they have something against Toyota or Mopar? |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Cant connect |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Very useful Use it all the time to prove to my wife that my driving isn't anti fuel efficient. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Dont work I pair it fine but after that it just sits there saying "quarying PID (set 1)" goes no further past that. |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Great! |
[2012-11-30] A Google User: Htc wilfire Software looks good... (typical garmin) but once paired with my eco route HD it will stay connected until i have done about 4 miles the crashes and i cannot get it connected after that... GARMIN IF ANYTHING PLEASE FIX THIS AND ANSWER OUR REQUESTS! |
[2012-11-26] A Google User: Expensive The app is slow on HTC Desire HD and keeps freezing. Also the adapter is very costly and only works on this app, compared to adapters for a fraction of the cost which work on most. I also found little customizability and a boring lig view. In all it is a poor app, garnished with a good looking UI. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Abandoned The Dev has clearly sacked this off, they don't answer emails, ui is pretty poor, you have to buy at £60 adapter to make it work, don't bother, just down load torque it does way more and the ui is excellent with many skins that match many popular cars, and THE DEV ANSWERS YOUR EMAILS!! |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Latest update Worked fine before latest update to my Nexus 7 |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Disappointed Looks cool on my 7" samaung tablet but the functionality of it is pretty bad. Bought it for rpm amd boost. Its so far off on the boost reading that idk what its even doing. Rpm gauge needs to update more/second. |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Gal/Sec inaccurate Gallons per second is incorrect it shows at normal driving speeds 30 + gallons per hour on a Corolla there is no way that is accurate. Vacuum reading is also incorrect it should read 30 inches at full power and 3 inches at idle it reads the reverse. |
[2012-10-31] A Google User: To darn Confusing I cannot figure out how to use this app. But I think it's me. |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Not working Does not work |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Good app but useless in Europe Works nice but missing the options to use kilometers, liters which is used in europe. It is frustrating to convert everytime to miles and galons. Give this option and you will have 5 stars. |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Very nice For all car people |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Why is 5.8 not an engine size option? So far I like it, but why no 5.8 engine option? Garmin has never heard of a Ford 351? |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Great app Cool app thanks |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: Less guage options. No option to calculate trip average economy. Only displays the current economy |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Not tried it |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Good Could You, please, add trans oil temp for Jeep JK... othervise 5. |
[2012-08-29] A Google User: Can't edit date Love some of the features, but cannot edit date on fill-ups- lets you change it then saves as todays date. Also does not scroll correctly in portrait. Uninstalled. (SGS2 SKYROCKET w/ICS) |
[2012-08-27] A Google User: Garmin mechanic This app is great for managing car info and even better when you add the HD accessory |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: nice app, missing restore data It's nice app, reading car data bus is awesome. I'm only missing the ability to restore back exported data. |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Good idea Clocks 2mph on couch |
[2012-07-07] A Google User: Update Please Would be much better if it could connect to both the Nuvi unit AND my phone!!!! Please work on this. |
[2012-07-03] A Google User: Worthless Worthless without their expensive code reader. |
[2012-07-02] A Google User: Good App The first time everything was running fine but afterwards the dial gauges are not showing anything. Please fix it. |
[2012-07-01] A Google User: A big disappointment This app was one of the reasons I got an Android phone and it's only thanks to other apps that I don't regret it now. This app has so much potential to be a very useful tool, but the poor quality and botched functionality make it almost unusable. To be a bit more specific, I'll list some of the problems that I am experiencing: - No multi-tasking. You phone rings and Garmin Mechanic stops recording your trip. You have to come back to the app, reconnect with the module and start recording again. This should be a service running in the background, recording every trip quietly and without fuss. - Every second of the "stopped" trip time, is recorded and 3-5 seconds, which means that when driving around the city you very often end up with the "stopped time" longer than "total time", which means your "moving time" is negative and therefore set to 0. That brakes all the average trip statistics and makes it completely useless. - The pairing prompt pops up every time the app connects to the module. It still works without pairing but it's just annoying. Pleas Garmin, fix it and make it the bast smartphone addition for a car. Also opening the protocol to 3rd party devs would be nice. |
[2012-06-30] A Google User: Will not connect Will not connect just keeps asking for pairing code |
[2012-06-30] A Google User: Change it It needs to have a 5.8 caused it what I have in my truck |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Buggy, No support When editing an old record, app forces you to change odometer reading of a past event. When entering historical service records, app refuses to accept any date other than the current date. Sent e-mail to developers, and they ignored me. Uninstalling and buying aCar. |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: LG Thrill Crashes App crashes with LG Thrill after it pairs with Garmin ECO HD bluetooth |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: Why doesn't this app run in the background? Has a lot of great features that are totally negated when you get a phone call. When it doesn't stop running, it causes a force close. Why can other apps seem to handle this, but not Mechanic? |
[2012-06-23] A Google User: Has Potential I have used a spreadsheet to track all of my fuel cost and economy data for my truck since 2009. I downloaded this app because I was looking forward to having a mobile version on my tablet/phone. Interface and options look good, but there is one critical flaw; I can't save old data. When I input a fuel purchase with a date from 2009 it saves it with the current date, so in the end every purchase prior to today would save with the same date. I will stick with a spreadsheet. There are enough apps that will allow me to use one on my tablet. |
[2012-06-21] A Google User: I mis " km/ h per liter gasoline |
[2012-06-09] A Google User: US Values Users in the UK, note that the fuel consumption is in US gallons, and there's no option for miles per UK gallons |
[2012-06-06] A Google User: My new car diagnostics I just my eco route hd and I love your the only problem is I can't make the gauges small enough to fit more on there but over all its great app to have. |
[2012-05-31] A Google User: Ecohd will not connect will not connect to my blue tooth ecohd device plugged in to my obdII . other software works but no matter what I do this will not work. Wasted my money |
[2012-05-28] A Google User: It only use OBD2. Only for newer car. Not much i can do to use this app. |
[2012-05-28] A Google User: Ok Keep having to pair it. Sometimes wont show vehicle codes |
[2012-05-23] A Google User: Misleading. This is free, but they are selling hardware that should be used with this app. I cannot use some generic OBD. It wasn't said in the description that it was a requirement to properly use the app. The word that they used was "expand". |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: Ok, but with a serious flaw When you enter past services, the app doesn't save the date you entered. It just puts today's date in the field, even if you hit save. This is super inconvenient. |
[2012-05-07] A Google User: Obd 1 compatibility Not everybody has a 97 and newer vehicle! I am an eco-modder who modifies cars for better fuel economy! My 94 civic gets mileage being boasted by new car dealers but I refuse to buy a new car when the technology existed years ago to achieve 40mpg! I need this tech! Thank you for reading! |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: At least 5" screen is needed, problem with bltooh hands free systems if one uses smart phones |
[2012-03-13] A Google User: HD Device, My Mechanic App, and the GPS I bought the HD device, quickly installed it, and paired it to both my new GPS (Nuvi) and my Android phone. That didn't work. Seems that the HD can communicate to either, but not both. Since moving from the GPS screen of ecoRoute data and directions is not easy, I choose pairing to my smartphone. But I have the smartphone paired to the GPS to use its speakerphone capability. I'm not sure that my new Razr can pair and be connected to the GPS and to the HD at the same time. Garmin doesn't think so. I've emailed Motorola. It works sometimes, but drops the pairing more often than not. (It also seems that the HD went up recently 50% in price.) |
[2012-02-26] A Google User: Pairing hints Page 6 in the manual: Turn off the car, then turn back on again after first pairing (LED = Blue) to save the setup info. Otherwise you end up pairing each time you use it. Would be nice if it could pair with this app AND the actual GPS unit, because this app does way more than the GPS. |
[2012-02-25] A Google User: Lionface Love this on smph |
[2012-02-24] A Google User: Very good Very good although i use it at the moment without the Ecoroute HD. I would give it 5 stars if it kept logging data while in the background. Every time i receive a call the counter resets. |
[2012-02-22] A Google User: Does not function as advertised by Garmin Using this on a Toshiba Thrive 10.1 tablet. Decent app with a few really useless gauges. I bought the Bluetooth adapter and downloaded this app because Garmin's web site clearly states that with the Android app you get access to OIL PRESSURE and OIL TEMPERATURE gauges. That is incorrect since those gauges do not exist on the Android app. Will return my $100 Bluetooth adapter now. Also the bluetooth connection to the tablet is clunky. Required five trials before it connected. Dropped several times and had to reconnect. |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: Great tool This works well with my 2011 Honda Jazz/Fit. Really nice layout and dials look brilliant on my Samsung Galaxy S 2. Please, please add oil pressure and oil temperature gauges. These would be the icing on a very nicely made cake. Well done Garmin. |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Pita So far it refuses to connect to my device. My device is on has a steady blue light, but my phone will.not connect to it. |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Great, but needs more ... ... Works well but needs options to just log instead if constantly downloading maps as this drains the battery more than other apps. Like that it syncs my history. Perfect to log runs etc when i don't have my garmin watch with me. |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: AFAIK: VERY DANGEROUS to use with some cars From the EXTREMELY limited docs & FAQ, this product along with the hardware device, can damage many cars! (yikes!) |
[2012-01-21] A Google User: Units Need a UK friendly Celsius and MPH option please. Be better with an option to auto and off Bluetooth. |
[2012-01-13] A Google User: Where is backup and restore? |
[2012-01-10] A Google User: ? I never could pass the warning page. I am uninstalling. |
[2012-01-05] A Google User: Got the cable and works fine. My check engine ligh Got the cable and works fine. My check engine light is on but software doesn't report the error. Working with Garmin to determine issue. Update: 01/05/2012 - I was able to see the OBD code and clear the check engine light right away with the new version. |
[2012-01-04] A Google User: Pretty neat! No problems! |
[2011-12-30] A Google User: Great app, but battery killer I really like this app. The ecoroute plays nice with my rezound and it provides exactly the functionality I was looking for. However, I forgot to properly exit the app one day, exited the car, the phone in pocket, and went inside for a nap. Battery went from full to 20% just like that in roughly 4 hours. Normally, 4 hours of idle drain is maybe 10-15%, NOT nearly 80%. Some better power management is sorely needed. |
[2011-12-20] A Google User: Won't Pair with Motorola Atrix I've purchased several Garmin devices and must admit that I'm a bit of a Garmin snob but this is the first time that I've been disappointed with Garmin. I've tried repeatedly to pair my phone with a new Garmin Ecoroute HD device that I've installed in a 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, without success. I've tried everything that the service desk suggest and am now about to uninstall the software unless they have another suggestion. I'd hoped to try the Ecoroute functionality out, before I purchased a Nuvi but now I'm worried that it won't work and I'm gworing tired of wasting so much time on something that is supposed to be so easy. UPDATE The software didn't work on my son's phone, a Motorola Droid X, so, we went out and bought a Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT and that recognized the device. I don't think though that we're going to keep the Ecoroute HD device, nor the new Nuvi 1490LMT because we're just not that impressed with the features and don't see how they'll help us save enough gas to cover the $260 it took us to get there. Sorry Garmin... |
[2011-12-18] A Google User: Garmin ecoRoute HD Mechanic Connects to ecoRoute HD and force closes within seconds everytime. |
[2011-12-11] A Google User: Doesn't work, uninstall! Droid X |
[2011-12-09] A Google User: Same as Simon - does not work with generic elm adaptors. Torque does. I'll rate more when this does as well. |
[2011-12-05] A Google User: Does not work with generic elm adaptors and i wont pay 100$ for an adapter that works on only one app that does not give 10% of what torque does.... I paid 40$ for a generic adaptor that works fine so please make this app work on it and i'l rate better... |
[2011-11-24] A Google User: Connection problems Won't connect. It says it is connected then it force closes. ATRIX 4G |
[2011-11-22] A Google User: Almost consistent but very useful |
[2011-10-20] A Google User: Good app.. Would like graphs. Date on services does not show correctly. Shows current date, not selected date. |
[2011-09-16] A Google User: Crashes all the time This software would be great if it worked. Unfortunately it always crashes. It is never running long enough to do anything. |
[2011-09-03] A Google User: Great app but a bit buggy Lots of features and a few shortcomings. Some gauges do not track current data on one screen while the same gauge displayed on another screen will be updating in real time. Repeated problems with pairing to my EVO, but seems to pair up fine with my GPS. Can't go back and edit fillups. For instance I made an error entering the odometer on a previous fillup. When I found it a couple days later the app would not Iet me change/edit the entry. |
[2011-08-31] A Google User: I'm much more knowledgeable about my car now Good stuff. This app has more features vs. using the OBD ecoRoute sensor with my nuvi 1390. |
[2011-08-12] A Google User: Truck miss firing. Garmin said everything is okay. So far a waist of $100.00 |
[2011-08-12] A Google User: Extremely easy to use. Plugged in ecoroute hd, downloaded app, started car, launched app and hit connect. Seconds later it was connected. |
[2011-08-06] A Google User: Jim Doesn't connect up disconnects from bluetooth stops recording. garmin should fix bluetooth issues before adding more gages and features. great idea if |
[2011-08-05] A Google User: Works with driod 2, but have issues getting bluetooth connection with hd module. Pairing shouldn't be this difficult. Otherwise i love the app. |
[2011-08-03] A Google User: Doesn't work with Droid X The ecoRoute HD will not connect to a Droid X. I am now left with a $90 piece of plastic I cannot use. Hopefully they fix this soon |
[2011-07-25] A Google User: Very slow updating info from ecu. Other apps are better |
[2011-07-21] A Google User: doesnt work so well with old cars. |
[2011-07-04] A Google User: Works great on my Evo. Seems to work as well with the EcoRoute HD as does my 2360 GPS. Sadly it seems to run away with the phone CPU every time. |
[2011-07-04] bqb: Works great on my Evo. Seems to work as well with the EcoRoute HD as does my 2360 GPS. Sadly it seems to run away with the phone CPU every time. |

[2011-06-27] A Google User: Great app. Wish it ran in the background. Pairs most of the time. |
[2011-06-27] Marc: Great app. Wish it ran in the background. Pairs most of the time. |
[2011-06-20] A Google User: Would be 5 stars if it would keep running and keeping mileage stats in the background. |
[2011-06-20] Fisheye: Would be 5 stars if it would keep running and keeping mileage stats in the background. |

[2011-05-24] A Google User: Very cool app. One issue... It's like a video game for your commute. Set a time and try to beat it the next day. (I drive an hour to work...it's boring.) The only issue is if you're tracking a route and you receive a phone call it dumps the route. |

[2011-05-22] A Google User: Great app, pairing not so much The app itself works great, WHEN it actually pairs with the ecoRouteHD device. Multiple resets, unplugging and connection attempts make it annoying and impractical to use on a regular basis. |
