This is a two piece Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system.

The client piece (this) is running on the Android device will periodically send location and (on demand) camera pictures to the map server (the second piece).
Initial access requires registration using an email confirmation system. Each subsequent log in uses these credentials to manage each user.

The map piece displays location and picture information using Google maps. The community website for the map piece is www.andsnow.com/tracks and is freely available.

The community map configuration is set to collect a location every 5 minutes, or every 400 meters (which ever happens first). For best results, the device should have a reasonably clear view of the sky, but WIFI location can be used if no sky view is available.

Connect to friends and colleagues using the friend request / accept / deny functions.
