[2012-11-10] A Google User: Excellent flight planning aid This is the best calculator of wind triangle problems that I've ever come across. I wish I'd had it when I had to plan flights for my PPL! It's great that it actually shows the wind triangle, so you can visualise it. It also uses the conventional arrows that are shown in wind calculation problems. There is also a true airspeed calculator which looks handy, although I haven't tested that out. I also like the interface. You don't enter the numbers by hand; you rotate the wheel to change the track, wind direction and/or heading, and you use the "trim" wheel to change the airspeed, wind speed and/or groundspeed. I haven't used it in flight, but I think it wouldn't be very difficult to do so if necessary. Many thanks to the developer! |
