Volume Locker (v. 1.3.2) Разработано HourDB |
This app helps prevent against accidental volume changes by confirming the change you made, by either tray notification or a pop up. If you don't approve the change, the volume will be reset within a set amount of seconds.
Great for people who accidentally changes their volume, have small kids, don't want their phone to go off accidentally in meetings, or even have apps which modify the sound settings a lot. It works with most profiling apps: Locale & Tasker ("Locale Audio Update Notifier" plugin necessary), Timeriffic, Setting Profiles, Ring Toggle, AAM, Bedside, etc.
By setting the timeout to "instant", the locked volumes will revert instantly without prompting.
The camera permission is to prevent Volume Locker from popping up due to the shutter sound on some devices. This app doesn't take pictures, it just detects if the camera is in use.
Features: unobtrusive, auto-start, call friendly, multiple volume lock
Exclude from task killer!
Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S: If VL doesn't work or save your settings properly, it's due to the upgrade to 2.2.1 breaking the settings permissions. Reinstalling won't fix it, the only fix is resetting the device. This is a Samsung issue and not related to VL.

[2013-10-01] A Google User: Quintessential app for Android phones with ringer volume switch I always keep my phone on vibrate, and sometimes I accidentally bump the volume key and change it to silent, and then I miss calls and texts. This app has made that problem a thing of the past. Thanks! |

[2013-09-12] A Google User: Confusing Can't find out how to get it to work on my s4 :/ |
[2013-09-06] A Google User: Doesn't lock on S3 I made sure all the setting were correct for enabling the locks, but it did not lock any volume control on my Galaxy S3 |
[2013-09-02] A Google User: Thanks for sharing The only way to go |
[2013-09-02] A Google User: No locking Galaxy s4 |
[2013-08-31] A Google User: Love it! Must have! Sometimes my volume changes, I don't know why. And it annoyed me, so I typed volume locker and found this! Now if someting changes the volume, I have to confirm it before it is accepted! It is like a popup: "Are you sure you want to change the volume?" If you don't awnser, it times out leaving volume unchanged. Just what I looked for! 5 Stars Samsung Galaxy Y Pro! Just converted it to a system app, keeper! |
[2013-08-24] A Google User: Works as Described Does not allow power shortcut menu to change to vibrate / mute. Would also be great if you could enable / disable via Tasker. Galaxy Note 2 - No Root |
[2013-08-19] A Google User: Nice App |
[2013-08-19] A Google User: Fantastic Just what I was looking for. Works everytime |
[2013-08-17] A Google User: Does not work on Galaxy Active Would not lock my volume on my Galaxy S 4 Active. Many options are grayed out and unaccessable. |
[2013-08-17] A Google User: Stops me hitting volume button by mistake Works perfectly and exactly as described. |
[2013-08-14] A Google User: The only and best out there, using on htc amaze and Samsung note 10.1 The only and best out there, using on htc amaze and Samsung note 10.1 |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Not bad on my Galaxy Note Won't hold my ring volume at max but one step less. That's mildly annoying. Notes say I can clear it from the notification bar but not for me. |
[2013-08-09] A Google User: Great Works well best one iv tried |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: Awesome must have app Before I found this I was always turning down or muting my phone by mistake. Now I don't do that. My only suggestion is to allow certain apps, say a silencer app to silence the phone at night. I use my phone as an emergency clock and just decided to have an auto silencer app. Have a list of apps allowed to change the volume and it would be perfect! |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Won't revert to vibrate HTC ONE, if I set to vibrate only (almost always) and make an inadvertent volume change it tries to revert back to silent (instead of vibrate) which is still not the original state so it tries to revert again and again and again stuck in a loop until I stop it! If not for that it would be great. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Cannot uninstall Not sure why but cannot uninstall. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Just what I was looking for I kept accidentally setting my phone from vibrate to mute with the volume rockers, this solves that problem. I was looking for a way to lock it on vibrate but it's even better that this let's me temporarily override using that timer. |
[2013-07-17] A Google User: Pretty good But it needs an auto save for switching between vibrate, sound and mute, just like it has for silent. So like if the volume changes 1 notch, then notify. But if it goes from 7 down to 1, thus in silent or vibrate mode, then don't notify. |
[2013-07-17] A Google User: Does the work. Thank you! Sony xperia tipo |
[2013-07-12] A Google User: Accounting Guru Does not work at all on my samsung SGH-T599 version 4.1.2. |

[2013-07-08] A Google User: Greay Just what I was looking for 5* |
[2013-07-01] A Google User: Great App Great app does everything it is supposed to just wish there was a widget with it so it could be started with a single click I would rate a 5 if it had this option! |
[2013-06-28] A Google User: Perfect Just what I needed on my HTC Droid DNA. Very sensetive volume buttons. |
[2013-06-27] A Google User: Never worked VL did nothing on my Note 2. The volume auto lowers when headphones are used because of euro-regs that don't apply in the US. VL should have locked the higher volume and show a pop up about the volume change. It did neither. Uninstalling. |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Waw Waw |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Doesn't work I am unable to lock my ringer on vibrate so it doesn't accidentally go to silent or sound. Am I missing something or does this app suck?!! |
[2013-06-18] A Google User: No effect Installed on Droid 4. See no improvement at all. Phone volumes still feral. |
[2013-06-17] A Google User: An amaging app I give 10 star 4 this app....thank u vry much ......... |
[2013-06-17] A Google User: Badly needed feature My phone kept dropping out of vibrate because the volume rocker would get bumped. Found this app and it definitely did the trick! |
[2013-06-12] A Google User: Worked for my HTC one x |
[2013-06-11] A Google User: This is the worst app EVER!!! It doesn't lock anything. It sucks |
[2013-06-11] A Google User: Great |
[2013-06-01] A Google User: Fantastic! Great app for droid. Works perfectly so far. |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Perfect apps for Deaf Communities I am Deaf and there been time when my vibrate mode shifts to either silent or sound mode causing me to miss my texts or emails or IM. This App is perfect and what Deaf people like myself need! Thank you for making it possible. It will save me the embarrassment of unknowingly shifting my volume from vibrate to sound mode and my phone going off in places like movie theatre or in my college classrooms. Then seeing everyone staring down at you. Thank again and I email the developer in hope he can add one more optional feature is to disable the icon from showing up in the notification bar. I plan on leaving it in vibrate mode forever and I need all the spaces I can get in notification bar for other apps since we Deaf people are strong visual people and having volume locker in notification bar is no benefit to us when we only use one setting all the time. If your Deaf, I strongly recommend this app. Bill |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Brilliant! Finally found the app that completely suits my requirements. I had been encountering the problem of accidentally increasing the music volume due close to max with my headphones on while grabbing on to my phone in a crowded train. The sudden increase in volume was frustrating. And the s3 is especially prone of accidental volume changes eg. When u attempt to lock phone u could end up pressing the volume button too |
[2013-05-25] A Google User: Just as described... Does EXACTLY what I needed an App to do! Offer a paid version for a buck... I'd buy it! |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: Garbage This program is completely worthless cuz I installed on my Note 2 to prevent my ringer volume being turned down, but everytime someone calls it turns my ringer volume way down as soon as it rings. I barely hear a full volume ringer, before low volume! |
[2013-05-19] A Google User: Its a must have for me. Useful. should be a standard android feature. Dev is very helpfull fixes new problems very quickley. 5* |
[2013-05-15] A Google User: Overrides Headphone Jack S3 When I plug my phone into my car to listen to internet radio, the S3 drops the audio level, this puts it back to the correct (or max) audio level. Never again to i have to turn my phone volume back up after plugging in. Thanks! |
[2013-05-09] A Google User: Very useful Helpful app |

[2013-04-29] A Google User: Doesn't work on one s Doesn't work on HTC one s |
[2013-04-28] A Google User: Doesn't work properly. Well, it certainly locks the volume when the screen is locked, but it doesn't let you change the volume when the screen is unlocked. Hmm... Doesn't do for me what it was meant to do. |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Thank you !!! This is a must have app especially for anybody who has a Samsung smart phone where the volume buttons are easily pushed by accident.my biggest pet peeve is no more ,thank you !!! |
[2013-04-16] A Google User: awesome app by using this app, I am now able to listen ringtone while my phone in pocket. My phone had problem, it was auto decreasing the ringer volume on its own. This app locks the volume. Totally awesome app. thanks developer |
[2013-04-15] A Google User: Very useful Works perfectly so far. I use the instant feature to revert to the volume I want for each function and it does the job flawlessly. Now I can work out with my phone in my pocket without muting the phone by mistake. Great ! |
[2013-04-13] A Google User: Sucks Does not work at all on my G2. 1000 thumbs down |
[2013-04-04] A Google User: Bad icon shape Very good app, working excellently but the shape of the icon kills my love with in the app. |
[2013-04-03] A Google User: Samsung Note 2 Stops working even though it's running in my notification bar. I'm sick of it not functioning properly but running. Un installing. |
[2013-04-02] A Google User: Broken? Doesn't lock anything! Android 4.2.2, custom. Volume Control+ works as advertised. |
[2013-03-28] A Google User: Needed it badly Awesome app. |
[2013-03-27] A Google User: Galaxy S3 lifesaver I always miss phonecalls and texts because my phone's audible setting changes while in my pocket due to poor volume button placement by Samsung. Not anymore! My only 2 complaints...and they may be bugs or Google API issues...are that even with notifications unchecked, the app causes my phone to vibrate when it reverts after the countdown timer expires. Also, the popup revert notification gets hidden behind the pulldown menu when I'm cycling through the audible setting via the pulldown menu in Android 4.x |
[2013-03-25] A Google User: Great app ! Easy to customize and I have found no problems. The disable while on a voice call is a great option. Before I found this app, I was continually accidently changing the ring volume. I use the beep option to alert me and then revert. ADDED - The S3 i9300 has a TOO sensitive volume control button. This warns you and easily reverts. |
[2013-03-23] A Google User: Don't leave home without it! It's saved me so many headaches from the volume getting turned up/down accidentally in my pocket. Every android phone needs this! |
[2013-03-23] A Google User: Bug Worked well for some time, but then my phone behaved very strangely. I uninstalled Volume Locker, and now everything is back to normal. |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: Buggy Doesn't seem to work very well if playing music. Uninstalled. |
[2013-03-20] A Google User: Shame Could be so good but the settings work against itself. I have it set to auto save silent mode (which was my most important feature) but then it reverts itself within seconds, then changes back to vibrate then reverts endlessly on a cycle ever few seconds. Huh? |
[2013-03-19] A Google User: Fail Doesn't really Work like it should |
[2013-03-15] A Google User: Something is wrong now. This used to work great. Now turns the volume off with no warning. Also, for no reason the window pops up over and over and over again that says 'volume change - keep or revert'. Am uninstalling and will reinstall and give one more try. Galaxy s3 phone. |
[2013-03-08] A Google User: Volume never locks! Volume does not stay locked while ringing and even though the disable when ringing box is checked it still wants you to save changes or revert |
[2013-03-06] A Google User: Excellent Excellent |
[2013-03-06] A Google User: YEEEEESSSS For some reason my phone just started going into vibrate mode on its own. Don't know what is doing it. I missed so many calls and TXT messages because of this. This app is PERFECT!!! Thank you!!! |
[2013-03-02] A Google User: Kong Good good |
[2013-02-28] A Google User: Stopped working on 4.2.2 Stops me from constantly changing my volume on my Galaxy Nexus. UPDATE: Seems to have stopped working after Android 4.2+ updates (I am using stock 4.2.2). No longer locks the volume. Worked great on 4.1 and below. |
[2013-02-22] A Google User: Perfect Does everything |
[2013-02-20] A Google User: Don't work |
[2013-02-16] A Google User: Sometimes it doesn't work Sometimes it stops working even though it stays running in the background. Then I have to uncheck and recheck the service to run it again. Last night I changed the phone volume to mute and it let it without prompting anything. Still needs to be worked on. |
[2013-02-14] A Google User: Perfect! 100% better than other apps as it allows you to lock indivdual volumes eg. Media, system, notification etc. When ever I played a game or similar i would have to decrease volume and often accidently decrease phone volume not media, this prevents this! |
[2013-02-13] A Google User: its not working its not working |
[2013-02-10] A Google User: Doesn't work for me Wtf... Keeping my ringer volumn from changing, seems so simple, YET my ringer volumn keeps getting turned down unknowingly. |
[2013-02-05] A Google User: Motorola Photon 4g Didnt work |
[2013-02-04] A Google User: Perfect! Does exactly what it states, flawlessly! Great job :-) |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: Suggestions This app is alright. It needs major improvement because the title is misleading. I think that the volume should actually "lock" and the things that aren't locked can be changed instead. I dont really like that it gives me 30 seconds to change something back that I can do within 2 seconds. The time should be changeable to what you want. If the volume locked like it was supposed to the time thing wouldn't be a problem. There should also be an option to disable the notification if the specific volume is locked |
[2013-02-02] A Google User: Doesn't work Doesnt override volume button on samsung s3 |
[2013-01-30] A Google User: Works really great. The volume locker is NOT being disabled when i make phone calls or when the phone rings, even though i selected those settings in the app settings. And is there a way I can allow my profile scheduling app to change volume settings and save automatically? |
[2013-01-30] A Google User: Good but activates every minute of alarm setting Handy |
[2013-01-29] A Google User: Works great on my Galaxy S3 Locked on vibrate and it stays there. |
[2013-01-28] A Google User: Works Well! I can now lock my phone to vibrate without having to worry about mis-pressing the volume buttons while It's in my pocket or so. Suggestion is to make the settings menu simpler and easier to understand. I tried to teach others to use this app But they had hard time to understand... |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Handy App. I don't use a cover on my Note 2 so it's easy to accidentally hit the volume key - this app prevents accidental volume changes. It works as described. Thanks for a very handy app. |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Awesome Saved my GNex |
[2013-01-24] A Google User: Best Prevent volume change accidently |
[2013-01-24] A Google User: Did not work for me Samsung S3 |
[2013-01-23] A Google User: Not working. Nope. None. No. It doesn't work in my Samsung GT-S5360L. Resetting the phone is not fix... Uninstalling it! |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: Prevents accidental volume setting I love this App, prevents me from accidentally bumping the volume when the phone is in my pocket. Prior to this App, I was inadvertently setting volume to off or low and missing calls and notifications. " " Updated 2013 01 18... issues I am having since upgrading to ICS 4.1.1 on my HTC One-X Quadcore. Volume Locker seems to inadvertently respond to mundane issues that it did not previously (probably an ICS issue). Volume Locker now pops up when plugging in head phone or "line" connector cord, when activating Blue Tooth, etc., though the volume buttons were not touched by me the "user", Volume Locker is asking for "confirmation" by the user for actions it should not be doing so, not did it do in past. |
[2013-01-17] A Google User: Great Does what it claims. Excellent app. |
[2013-01-15] A Google User: anon Comprehensive settings,still testing |
[2013-01-14] A Google User: Doesn't seem to work with 4.2 silent and vibrate mode. |
[2013-01-14] A Google User: Perfection Works perfectly on the samsung galaxy note 2. I can't believe it's free. I would recommend this to anyone. |
[2013-01-12] A Google User: Does not work AT ALL! I tried setting my volume to full, locking the screen and the rocker still adjusts the volume! Tried a dozen times on three different phones, avoid. |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Great app Solved the problem with my HTC Incredible S which has an incredibly stupid location for the volume control, right where you thumb is while holding the phone. The number of times I have put the phone on silent and spent an hour looking for it is also incredible. In all an incredible app that works well and saves a lot of frustration. KH |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Extremely useful app Very useful to control your volume from weird volume changes by some custom roms |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Good app |
[2013-01-10] A Google User: my favorite app This is great. It works well and is simple! |
[2013-01-09] A Google User: Simply perfect Does what Android should have done from the start, permitted the disabling of the most worthless feature of the phone, the hardware volume buttons. |
