gStrings (www.cohortor.org/gstrings) is a chromatic tuner application measuring sound pitch and intensity.

It will let you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, piano, wind instruments).

Features include:
1. orchestra tuning (shifting/redefining tone frequencies),
2. different temperaments (just, pythagorean, meantone, comma, etc.),
3. a variable range nonlinear scale,
4. microphone sensitivity setup,
5. pitch pipe,
and many more.

Finally bought it I've had this app since I got my phone. It's never let me down and I thought it was about time I bought the full version. I love it, especially how it tells you the frequency of each note as recently I've been tuning down to 432hz. This tuner can be adjusted for that too! Awesome work bro.

Accurate, stable and sensitive A very nice tuner! I'm stunned at how accurate, sensitive and stable it is. Better than my other dedicated tuners. It can get a little confused with the low notes on a bass guitar, but if you tune using harmonics it's as solid as a rock. Highly recommended!

Great app Galaxy S3 I rarely post about an app, but in this case I have to say great app, Works for acoustic as well as electric (plugged into amp) I have to tuners one cheap priced and one decent priced and this app matches the decent one and its miles better then the cheap one so I definitely recommend it.

Love it, but... This app used to be unfailing, but for some reason, it consistently registers A 220 when I tune my mandolin's E strings. It won't seem to move off A. Then I strike another string and registers correctly, for G, D, & A. This makes it more difficult than it should be.

Excellent tuner for all instruments This tuner works great. It finds the note you're playing quickly and is very sensitive and accurate about letting you know how far off you are. I've used it for fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin. There is a free version with small ads at the top but in my opinion it's worth the price to pay for it. I never bring a stand-alone tuner with me anymore. No need! Depending on the instrument and how you position the phone, very noisy environments may still benefit from a regular clamp-on tuner.
