TetherGPS (v. 1.2.2) Разработано Compton Software |
Now supports Android 4.0 and beyond.
TetherGPS allows you to share the GPS on one WiFi enabled Android device with another WiFi enabled Android Device.
TetherGPS can be launched by using the included 1x1 widgets, through intent broadcasts from other apps, or by using the launch buttons in the TetherGPS configuration app.
Example use - Connect your Nook Color and your HTC Evo to the same network, or tether the Nook Color to the HTC Evo with android-wifi-tether. Run TGPS Server on the HTC Evo and TGPS Client on the Nook color. The Nook Color will receive GPS data from the HTC Evo. Applications on the Nook Color such as Google Maps and Google Navigation will then work using the shared GPS data.
-Mock locations on the client device must be enabled. Settings>Applications>Development>Allow mock locations.
-GPS location must be enabled on both devices.
-Use the TGPS Client and TGPS Server widgets to enable the services.
If the widgets are not showing up in your widget list, check to make sure the application is installed on the device and not on the SD card.
If your device does not include a way to enable GPS navigation, download one of the freely available GPS toggle widgets from the Android Market.
TetherGPS uses the following intent listeners for activation by Tasker and other apps:
com.comptonsoft.TGPS.START_SERVER
com.comptonsoft.TGPS.STOP_SERVER
com.comptonsoft.TGPS.START_CLIENT
com.comptonsoft.TGPS.STOP_CLIENT
If TetherGPS does not show up in the market on your Nook or other tablet device, you can download the lite version with a fully featured client from our website, http://www.comptonsoft.com

[2013-01-26] A Google User: Server crashes all the time I run the server on my phone and client on my Asus Transformer Prime (Anyone that owns one would know why) and it works perfectly. Only problem is, once in a while it seems to get stuck in "running" mode on my phone. The notification icon is gone but after a while has passed I start getting popups that TetherGPS has stopped responding. I'll select force close but then get the message about 3-5 more times before it stops. I do shut down the server by selecting "stop server" every time. Other then that it works perfectly and fast. [HTC Thunderbolt & Asus Transformer Prime tablet) Server now crashes all the time with not responding' when playing the game Ingress. |

[2012-09-15] A Google User: 4.5 stars Excellent!!! Bought the full version after testing with lite. Only 1 problem, it does work with ICS "IF YOU" turn off " Auto Broadcast IP" and manually put in IP address of the client. Galaxy 2S and Galaxy Tab 2, both ICS. Read full description because you also have to tether wifi, the developer has covered this aspect well in the description. Great job all around, fix the IP glitch and it will be a 5 star app! |
|
[2012-09-13] A Google User: Great App Use it to add GPS functionality to WiFi-only tablets. Works very well based on the limited times I've used it for route guidance with Google Maps Navigation. |
|
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Works It works exactly as described! |
|
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Crashes on HTC Rezound with ICS 4.0.4 I've been having some trouble getting this to work over wifi tethering to my Kindle Fire until this morning. I learned that you have to turn off auto broadcast on the server and enter the client device's IP address in the server's broadcast field. Woohoo it works! Now... after just a few seconds of use, the server crashes with the all so helpful "Has stopped working" message. So for now, giving this a 2 star rating mainly because I've sent 2 emails to the devs and have yet to hear a back. |
|
[2012-05-24] A Google User: Crashes constantly Server crashes over and over on my GSII (ICS) then stays resident until reboot as an unkillable task. Refund sought! Works on my T201 but you can't make a sandwhich with one piece of bread. |
|
[2012-05-18] A Google User: Crashes Force closes as soon as I try to start the server HTC rezound with ICS 4.0.3 |
|
[2012-05-06] A Google User: Worked.... Broken Worked like a dream on my s2 with gingerbread tethering over to my nook color with cm7. But now I have ICS on both my s2 and nook (cm9) the app wont work. Its fine on the nook, the problam is with my phone. Once the widget it activated the phone crashes for about 20 secs. Test before uou buy. Hoping for an update as this was a sweet setup in my car. |
|
[2012-03-28] A Google User: It was good. |

|
[2012-03-06] A Google User: Update Once again working on Asus Prime running ICS. Thanks for the update. |
|
[2012-03-05] A Google User: Finally a fix for ICS Sweet my CM9 Nook is finally working GPS. Thanks dev |
|
[2012-02-27] A Google User: Works Great on CM7 But Not ICS & CM9 Updated to 4.0 and get Unfortunately, TetherGPS has Stopped . I Think its the application and not the ROM I'm using please update. other than that it was perfect with Gingerbread well worth the 3$ i paid for it. So if you plan on buying this for ICS test it first before you make a purchase |
|
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Changing from 5 to 1 star UPDATE: The update is that there hasn't been an update to address possible Android 4.0 issues. The client simply won't run on my TF201 after the 4.0 update and I've been unable to get a response from the Dev. I paid for the product and I feel I should get a reply, even if just to let me know they're working on it. |
|
[2012-01-26] A Google User: Do not buy this...no email support from developer. I've emailed the dev 3 different times asking for help with an issue where the client device receives the GPS signal for 30 seconds then loses it for 30 seconds repeatedly and I never got a response. If I could issue a zero star review I would. |
|
[2011-12-29] A Google User: Use w nook color for gps solution Many problems. Repeated force closes. Will connect for short period, then force closes. Using google maps on nook, w additional problems there. Phone is casio 771. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times now. Im only out 6 bucks, but spent way too much time. Looked great on youtube, but this is a hobby, not a solution. |

[2011-03-22] A Google User: Enabling GPS Great app when you get it setup. Developer needs to explain that you will also need to download a GPS switch for the stock rooted Nook because there isn't a GPS switch in Nook Color Tools. GPS Onoff works. Took a long time to figure that out after GPS suddenly stopped being enabled for no apparent reason. You don't want that to happen on a back country trip. Needs to be part of the instructions. |
