[2013-09-12] A Google User: Poor Wanted to mount drive. You have to pay. |
[2013-08-20] A Google User: Syncmate Toubles Resolved I wrote the review below when SyncMate broke. Now after a re-installation, it works - happy customer again!!!!.......................................... I installed Syncmate a year ago & it worked ok. Then it decided it could no longer sync (same MacBook & same Galaxy Note), so i am trying a re-installation. If it works, great, if not, I will find an alternative. |
[2013-08-20] A Google User: Didn't work. Terrible service. I downloaded this app and was never able to sync photo albums even after following all instructions and purchasing the very expensive sync mate expert license. I sent all of the program logs requested by their support team and was never provided with a solution. When I requested a refund I was told that I must have a team viewer session with their support team (after I told them I am not available during business hours which is the only time they can have a session). App never worked, terrible service. |

[2013-06-25] A Google User: Terrible App - One of the Worst It's one thing to have an app that doesn't work very well, or crashes, or is hard to use. It's a whole other thing when it trashes important existing data on your smartphone and computer. This app has basically made my existing calendaring function and data completely unusable. There is massive amounts of duplication that happens when you sync calendars - it does not recognize existing info. In some cases I now have 8 instances of the same appointment. You have to go through your entire calendar and delete all dups manually every time it syncs. Then for reoccurring appointments - it gets it wrong - putting them on the wrong days, weeks or months. Are you kidding? They are actually trying to sell this stuff - it's the worst app I've ever used. After reading the other reviews - I see that this is a low quality product put out by folks who obviously don't know what they are doing and don't care what damage they are causing to their users. Otherwise they would have fixed this - and it's not that complicated to fix. I've been a software engineer for 35 years - and know that this is due to bad software design and coding - and could be fixable. But they have not. |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: too basic Have to buy $40 version to sync disk files. |
[2013-05-15] A Google User: Fails to sync Notes, incomplete product This fails to sync Outlook 2011 Notes in Mac 10.6.8 . A major reason I bought it. I hate being an alpha product tester. Tis is not ready for prime time. Also syncs multiple copies of contacts. Grr. Just spend 15 minutes cleaning dupes from this ... product. |
[2013-05-08] A Google User: Finally! It works I have been searching for a way to get my work calendar on my new Samsung GS4. I was finally able to accomplish my goal using SyncMate. It was very straight forward to setup, and it did take some time getting good communication between the devices, not a SyncMate problem. But once I crossed that hurdle it just a matter of configuring the application and hitting "Sync Now". The best part of this is that its all free. I don't need the advance setup for what I am doing. Great job guys!!! |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: SyncMate Note sure what people's issues are. works well for me. not sure why people don't read too. I clearly understood only contact and calendar syncing were the free plug ins. I suggest ignoring all negative reviews based on the "it's not free" factor. I too had a positive experience with support. I suppose of you're on a jerk, they'll help. fair enough right? no issues with macbook <-> RAZR hd and htc one. Some crashes on desktop app but overall good. I've recommended. |
[2013-04-24] A Google User: Lost Faith This app worked well until a recent up-date, same as other user expressed, app no longer works like it did before. I uninstalled and re installed but nothing. Tech support? After reading other reviews that seems like a waste of time. Moving on to find another product |
[2013-03-23] A Google User: It is free, don't expect much!!! I installed this application after I uninstalled Missing Sync because I couldn't get it to work with my iMac. I can say that Syncmate was ridiculously easy to install in both my Samsung Galaxy S3 and my iMac. It syncs calendar and contacts well. However it would be great if it let us sync music, pictures and videos without having to pay $40. I think it is too expensive. |
[2013-03-13] A Google User: More trouble than it is worth.. Best avoided After a recent update the app deleted all my future calendar events. Support have not responded to my request for help. It creates duplicate contacts in the address book. Support is either non-existent or very slow. I bought the 'Expert' version, then an update came out, I tried the update which offered no advantages, so wanted to return to previous version, but was told that I could not return to the previous version and would have to pay again to get the 'Expert' version. |
[2013-02-22] A Google User: Not sure what peoples problems are? I have just installed SyncMate on my Macbook Pro (MacBookPro5.5) and connected to my Galaxy S3 via USB with zero effort. Plugged in, turned on USB with debugging as advised in the application and connected. Took 2-3 minutes. I enquired about an issue with external SD cards and mounting them and had a proper helpful e-mail response in about 15 minutes actually answering my question and resolving it. So clearly Customer Service is working. SyncMate is so much better than the standard Android Mac file transfer which is basically rubbish. Its made pretty clear that this is a paid for application, why do people think it should be free? Grow up, read the web site and try it out. I don't need it to sync calendars or contacts as I have separate applications that link into my corporate mail and calendars. The new version they sent me handles internal and external SD cards correctly. I use that to move music around as I actually don't want to auto sync given I have 100GB of music. I use this on two Mac's as per the license and had the same easy experience. So overall I find it works well, is easy to install, the customer service has been good for me. |
[2013-02-15] A Google User: Sync? Really? Its very misleading. The "sync" feature of iTunes playlists actually requires you to setup a pairing for each playlist and then create the playlist manually on the device. The same happens for each picture album within iPhoto. So if you have 10 playlists and maybe 20 picture albums you need to repeat each step 30 times! It also is very slow at copying the files. I contact the seller looking for a refund but was refused. I would avoid at all costs. There are better options out there. |
[2013-02-14] A Google User: Don't buy I have an S3 and a Mac. It is so hard to set up, poor customer service and even if you manage to eventually get out working. It gives you loads of duplicates and messes up your sync services. If you have a pc use Iphoneexplorer, it is brilliant. If you still want to sync your android device with a Mac. Good luck! |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Paranoid Developer It synchronizes my iCal and Contacts from my Mac to the Galaxy Note 2. It works more or less, but makes often errors about deleted entries and other things. But the worst on this software is, the desktop client demands contact to Eltimas registering server all 7 days. So if you can not connect to the web or Eltima decides not to support SyncMate anymore or Eltima gets shut down, you can not start your desktop client anymore. Money completely wasted. This is about the most paranoid developer I have ever seen. And this for a third-class little helper app, its ridiculous. It is so customer unfriendly that I can only recommend: hands off! Also: It does not update detail informations, for example if you add a phone number to an existing contact on the Mac, the change does not get synced to the mobile. |
[2013-01-21] A Google User: Fraudware The only features that work are the ones in demo mode. All the paid features are broken. And I'm not exaggerating -- I mean all of them. Support line was dismissive (the few times they've responded at all). Total ripoff. |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Don't Buy! Bought this in hopes that it would sync iTunes on my Mac with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Bought the "expert" edition. It doesn't work ... period. I contacted customer support who told me that the "standard refund procedure implies that technicians confirm the presence of the bug or make a resolution of "unreproducible" malfunctioning." I sent them a diagnostic report to prove that the program isn't working as advertised, but I have heard nothing back from them since that time. Don't waste your money on this program. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: App is fine, but the $40 expert edition is bull. Got this to try and sync tunes and movies to my Nexus 7, realized that I would need to spend about $40 to download the "expert" version to do anything worthwhile with Syncmate on my Mac. Insta-delete, and Insta-1 star. Disclose your REAL fees before you do stuff like that. AVOID THIS APP! |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Great ! I was able to sync my contacts from a macbook to a LG phone not supported by isync from Apple. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Not a solution Within days my computer is glacially slow. 6000 contacts duplicating themselves, duplicate x event reminders....galaxy note, outlook 2011 (mac)...days tearing my hair out, online searching.. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: What a joke Cant tell you if it workshop because none of the features are available unless you buy the plug ins what a shady way of presenting an app. |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Very successful I was able to sync contacts, calendars, and photos using usb and the icloud. I only had the free version. I was very satisfied with the ease of installation and usage. |
[2012-11-02] A Google User: No point to this... Installed and went through all steps and paired it with my Mac, only to find out I had to buy the expensive version to sync my photos, videos and music. It only allows you to sync contacts and bookmarks. I can do a manual sync with my USB ... |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Sux Don't waste your time with this garbage |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Cheats and Thieves The worst, slowest and unfriendly customer support. I purchased v3 family edn for OSX 10.5.8 and accidently upgraded to v4. That does not work on 10.5.8!! If I need to roll back I am blackmailed to pay $40 for v3 that I already paid for. Whenever updates come we just click YES and let the update happen. We do not download that version or the previous version software. This company is the most customer unfriendly company I have seen. Use Kies for Samsung phones with Macs. DO NOT BUY THIS AND GET CHEATED!!! |
[2012-10-04] A Google User: Don't bother with this. This is such a dumb program and it can't even sync your calendar correctly. It moves events around to different days. Don't waste your time with this. |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Very good. The best I have found so far. Ok, I tried many sync tools to try and sync my Galaxy S3 with my Mac Book Pro and this beats them all hands down. It works, it is very comprehensive in what it does. I can sync music, photo's, video and more between the two devices quickly and seamlessly. It evens allows you to mount your Android device as a disk without issue.... and all over Wifi. I do have one issue with syncing iPhoto events, I have raised this with support which I hope they can resolve. All in all though, I recommend this, very good indeed. |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: DO NOT BUY INTO THIS Forced update delete iPhoto sync requiring full price repurchase. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Doesn't work I tried and tried and tried but this stupid app doesn't work |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Don't buy product! No customer support! I purchased the expert edition (v3) for $40 a few months ago this year. I had a problem with my computer and asked for them to send me a copy of v3. They're telling me that now they have version 4 and no longer support v3 and I have to pay an additional $40 to get the expert edition! WTF! Additionally, it will cost extra for CD copies, lifetime upgrades, etc... Now I'm stuck with a fully paid product with limited use! |
[2012-08-27] A Google User: had many bugs on samsung note so i deinstalled it |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: BEWARE!!!!!!! The app and solution is pretty ok. However, as a web developer since 1998, I've interacted with hundreds (thousands?) various support and helpdesks. Some excellent, some fair, some bad and some really, really bad. But Eltimas "support" beats them all. Their "support" simply doesn't exist. So, roll the dice. Either buy their app and hope you'll never have any problems. Or get a slightly less fancy gadget like e.g. AirDroid or The Missing Sync for Android (free) and never worry at all. |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: Dave Causing hangups on MB Air with Mtn Lion. Had to uninstall. |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Piece of malware-like software Doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy S3. Did not uninstall cleanly on either phone nor my MBA, which is criminal incompetence. Or worse. |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Frustrating When I first downloaded this app it worked well when syncing w Mac, but since the last update it hasn't worked at all. So frustrating. I'll have to find another app to sync my android phone w my Mac. |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Waste of energy Free version used to work with mac but now only with mtn lion. waste of money for paid version. no phone tech support for paying customers. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Works for my VirginMobile LG Optimus V Works well on my VirginMobile USA LG Optimus V. Syncs my calendar and contacts reliably since installation on my Mac mini (OSX 10.6 8+) in May 2012. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Wasted 2 days trying to makr it sync calendars Wasted 2 days trying to make it sync calendars with mac. Address book reveals previously deleted groups, and there is no way to remove them. Calendar sync doesn't support events deleted on iCal, they stay visible on the phone. Event repetitions don't transfer correctly either, when you change one of the repetetive events, it duplicates it. iCal' s built-in sync with google seems to work better.. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Lame Didn't work or synch. |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Not bad but not far from it. However the only way to sync Mac and Droid. Thanks for that, Eltima! :) |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Galaxys3 failed Won't install on my galaxy s3 :( |
[2012-06-28] A Google User: Not good This worked Ok for a month but stopped accepting work and home entries from i-Cal. I have tried everything to fix including visiting the not-at-all helpful website. Currently looking for alternatives. |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Oops Got really bad battery drain and phone would not charge properly un installed all is good again |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: Terrible!!!!!!! Would not sync iTunes or I photo on Galaxy Nexus. Waste of money and poor refund policy. No support either. |
[2012-06-19] A Google User: Now seems to work Seems to work on my nexus samsung stratosphere but nevere did quite work on my nexus one. |
[2012-06-17] A Google User: Bluetooth doesn't work It simple doesn't work. Think before buying expert, try the free one first. I use OSX Lion with a Samsung device. I can exchange stuff between the devices using bluetooth (native OSX apps) but can't connect using Syncmate.. |
[2012-06-16] A Google User: Great Does everything I want on the free version. No problems. Works with my MacBook Pro using WiFi. Worth downloading. |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: Finally 2 weeks after buying galaxy ace 2 this did my sync on my mac brilliantly was getting ready to ditch the phone. Very relieved |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: Buyer beware - a refund is impossible to get I downloaded the free version hoping that it would allow me to transfer pictures on my phone to iPhoto on my Mac Powerbook. Once I had installed it, it appeared that only the pay version would allow this functionality. I went ahead and upgraded. Then I spent over an hour trying to move the pictures from my cell phone to the computer, without success. It seems that this program is not really set up to move pictures off the phone. (I figured out the better way was to buy an $8.00 usb card reader to put my micro sd in.) I complained to the company about these issues and asked for a refund since the program was not able to do what I wanted. The refund was denied because "I am sorry, but the standard refund procedure implies that technicians confirm the presence of the bug or make a resolution of 'unreproducible' malfunctioning." Extremely frustrating experience with this product. |
[2012-06-12] A Google User: Not able to sync Itunes Music As the title says - I still couldn't transfer music that I purchased from the itunes store. |
[2012-06-06] A Google User: Syncs calendar ok, not other libraries Got the paid versin for my Mac. Syncs my calendar ok (it will do that in the free version), but won't complete the itunes or photo sync. Waiting for a reply from CS. |
[2012-06-05] A Google User: Synced my note perfectly What a solution to a very annoying issue, was unable to sync my calender on the note with google calender or ICal on my Mac. This app did all that flawlessly! Google should take note from you guys. |
[2012-06-02] A Google User: Does not work with Mac and Android Support confirmed there are issues and the external SD card and internal is not supported at the same time. Fails advertising!!! |
[2012-05-31] A Google User: Love syncmate Use a mac and a droid phone. Was able to sync calendar, contacts and files. If they add reminders to sync to task will give 5 stars. Had a sync issue and sent tech support an email responded withun hours with directions on solving problem. |
[2012-05-13] A Google User: Great work. I was looking for a tool to automatically backup my SD card to my PC when I found SyncMate. SyncMate is clean, simple, always works, and is actively maintained and supported. I absolutely recommend this app. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: great I love this app very much. By using this sync app I can easily backup my contacts, calendars, folders, sms in my mac. nice app.5star. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: Useful Very very usefull apps,it runs smoothly in my htc magic with no problem.the one of tha best apps in my collection. |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: Great App I can just say awesome. It is even so easier to sync your phone with your Mac. It supports wi-fi, bluetooth or USB as well & I think its the best feature of this app. Now I can sync my contacts, messages, calendars, notes etc in one click. Moreover, it has a user friendly interface to attract you. No bugs I found yet. Highly recommended. |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: Nice Great tool, very sufficient number of features and no fc so far on my sgs2. One word - satisfaction. |
[2012-05-10] A Google User: Does what it says Great syncing ... ill add a 5th star when iPhoto albums show up as albums in mg device ... photon 4g .... instead of just being dumped in the ALL PHOTOS folder |
[2012-04-27] A Google User: Unreliable It does do what it says most of the time, but quite often fails to sync. It gets quite time consuming watching progress wheels spinning for 15 mins only to get red crosses at the end. Was worth buying pro to back up my phone to the Mac but maybe I should've got an iPhone instead... |
[2012-04-26] A Google User: Impress me This app has so many exciting features, but the one impresses me most is mounting android device as mac disk! Incredible! |
[2012-04-26] A Google User: nice nice work dude :)) |
[2012-04-26] A Google User: great It works perfectly, easily and fast. Many thanks for your effort and brilliant idea. |

[2012-04-25] A Google User: Must-have app This is really a must-have app if u're using an android phone & macbook. It can run the wireless sync process perfectly. |
[2012-04-25] A Google User: Awesome!!! I've just bought the paid ver. Now I can sync imagines, video, music & folder between my SS Galaxy S & Macbook Air. Thumbs up for devs! |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: Incredible! Thank to this app, every matter in exchanging data between my HTC Desire & Macbook Air was solved. Highly recommended! |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: Tip to use Some my friends also installed this app but it didn't work. Finally I found the reason: they forgot to install the same app for MAC. So remember to install both, guys. |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: A+++ This app help me syncs contacts & calendars between my SE X10 & Mac for free. Awesome! |
[2012-04-23] A Google User: Waste of time |
[2012-04-15] A Google User: Only Contacts and Calendar? Really? Otherwise you want us to spend $39.95? Not a chance. Uninstalled. |
[2012-03-28] A Google User: Misleading description The app description says you can, amongst other things, sync safari bookmarks. Doesn't mention anything about having to upgrade to expert (in other words BUY their desktop app for $39) in order to do this. Uninstalled!! |
[2012-03-27] A Google User: Kudos Synced my hero with iMac flawlessly. No bugs, no issues - well done |
[2012-03-20] A Google User: Cool app works fine. finally found a way to sync my macbook with my lg optimus one. |
[2012-03-13] A Google User: works only works with usb on acetliquid. but that's enough |
[2012-02-16] A Google User: Doesn't work with PowerPCs. I have a PowerPC and the desktop software doesn't work. :( |
[2012-02-13] A Google User: Great app Makes syncing really easy |
[2012-01-31] A Google User: Amazing tool. Simple, intuitive and does the job. |
[2012-01-13] A Google User: Pretty good system with caveats SyncMate for mac is the best sync solution available, but be careful with reinstalls or migrations. Every time you reload your mac it eats a licensing instance. Can't sync external sd card on acer A500. Also, while the desktop app will tell you that the android app component needs updating, there us no update in the market. |
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Don't bother Didnt work. Could not sync bookmarks between MacBook and Samsung galaxy s2 It was a waste of $40 for me (expert version). Tech support poor and no help. No response to my requests for refund per the 14 day refund policy. |
[2012-01-01] A Google User: Beautiful Don't understand that "smart"guys review of this product. Im not a college grad, no super IT experience, but I got this up, running, and loving it in about 5 minutes. Works perfectly. |
[2011-12-24] A Google User: Works I read the bad reviews and gave the free version a try. Did the contacts and cal. Bought the paid version, still works. Galaxy prevail and Mac OSX 10.6.8 I didn't find it complicated, connections via wifi could use a tweak or two (haven't tried BT) I say give the free version a shot; I was happy enough |
[2011-12-17] A Google User: Buggy, complicated. Doesn't work well. I put in a good effort with this programs, and spent a month going back and forth with tech support trying to get this to work with my HTC and Samsung devices. I have 4 Android devices and I have a masters degree in computer science. I never completed a single sync. I could not get this to work properly and the company refused to refund the (shockingly high) cost of the program, even though it just does not work. Currently in a PayPal dispute with them. Companies with good products that stand behind them offer money back guarantees. That's business 101. This product sucks and the company does not stand by it. Buy something cheaper and better elsewhere. |
[2011-12-16] A Google User: Expensive and worthless. Expensive. Only the android interface is free. It does not sync your iTunes playlists, and the developer knows this and doesn't care. |
[2011-12-11] A Google User: Awesome!!!!!! Worked perfect. Makes my Galaxy II interact with my Apple ecosystem. The only thing it could be is cloud compatible. |
[2011-11-30] A Google User: Martin Syncs Calendar (Mac to Android) fine. Does not sync Contacts even after deleting them first on Android phone. |
[2011-11-11] A Google User: Easy to use I simple downloaded this application and everything became synced. It is so easy to use, compatibility issues between my mac and android are gone thnx |
[2011-11-02] A Google User: Ok |
[2011-10-29] A Google User: Works fine on S2 Tested and found it can sync my Galaxy S2 perfectly with 2010 Macbook Pro running OSX Snow Leopard 10.6! Beats Samsung's own Kies for Mac platform. |
[2011-10-20] A Google User: Many users are wrong about syncmate I guess that many of indigenous critics were unable to understand HOW to connect it to their phones, HOW to use this soft because they're not clever enough. So u should to remember READ THE F** MANUAL before writing stupid review! My experience with using SyncMate I can rate with 4/5 stars. |
[2011-10-10] A Google User: Excellent free version. Great functionality. |
[2011-09-30] A Google User: Fantastic, as far as I can test it. Sorry, but the price of the paid version is miles outside what I'd pay for a phone app. $5 and I'd buy instantly |
[2011-09-26] A Google User: Too expensive $39USD should be $20 at most |
[2011-09-07] A Google User: Could be great! Just make the full version half price. Works just fine once you have it all setup. |
[2011-09-05] A Google User: Compatibility Has issues syncing mac address book to xperia. Anroid 2.3 |
