SoftKeys for ROOT USERS (v. 3.08) Разработано Steve Slaven |
REQUIRES WORKING SUPERUSER ON DEVICE
SoftKeys provides on screen virtual keys for some required keys for normal android functionality. It was created for devices lacking regular physical keys to provide input for the Home, Menu, Back, and Search buttons. SoftKeys can run as a home screen replacement or as an on-screen service hovering over all applications. It can also be used on devices where users may consider the physical keys fragile, such as the HTC HD2.
Designed originally for the Color Nook but also works on the Pandigital Novel, HTC HD2, etc

[2011-07-12] david: Only home key working but Savior when softkeys went bad on Droid. Hoping to figure out how to make menu, back, and search useful |
[2011-07-10] Ashley: I love this, it works perfectly. Initially, I rooted my Galaxy Tab just for this app and it was 100% worth it. |
[2011-06-18] Ravindran K: Works great on my samsung galaxy tab |
[2011-06-01] Jennifer: Love it, but please fix the fc issue on nook color. |
[2011-06-01] Chris Liphart: Would love the option to disable the popper completely. I have the n key trigger it on my Nook Color, and have no need for the soft popper. |
[2011-05-14] Nick: Very helpful. 4 stars due to fc on my nook color. Will update to 5 stars when its fixed. |
[2011-05-08] Nelson: Not useable on optimus v |
[2011-05-03] David: Great app, helps to save physical keys for longer use. Works on DroidX, leaked GB. |
[2011-05-01] Angelo Bryan: it is more responsive than button saver.. but i wish that the toggle button is square and small. so i could position it on a good pos.using x10. |
[2011-05-01] ganesh: Excellent app |
[2011-04-26] she^: Works on Galaxy Tab. Wish I could choose a theme though. |
[2011-04-25] ificudrewind: simply excellent, only needs simply excellent, only needs to reduce occasional force close. keep it up, free and add possibilities to simulate more situations on long-press virtual home button - eg, recent apps list, show previews, pull-down notifications and so on. |
[2011-04-18] foss: I prefer button savior |
[2011-04-17] Eric: Really want to give 5 stars, but lots of FCs on Nook Color with CM7. |
[2011-04-17] Donnie: Gave 5 stars. Works great on NC until I upgraded to CM7. Hoping for an update. Not as necessary on CM7, but still nice to have in some cases. |
[2011-04-15] izzy: AMAZING very convienent. |
[2011-04-07] Shane: Really like the app. Is there a custom control key? Fc alot, uninstall |
[2011-04-03] Steve: Found out how to disable the d-pad, great app for those who don't care to press or want to wear out their physical keys |
[2011-03-31] Ken: I set it up as the task switcher in cyanogenmod 7. |
[2011-03-30] Mike: Now works for HD2 users, MUST lock down the main button from moving for it to work! Hide Dpad by holding down on main button after restarting softkeys |
[2011-03-29] Steve: Great idea, but with the crappy onscreen d-pad, I can't in good faith rate ouitt more than 3 stars. Will rate higher with the option to disable d-pad |
[2011-03-28] sunder: 5* app! Usefull on HD2! Just needs to fix FC bug and add option to hide d-pad. |
[2011-03-26] Andy: Nice idea, would be great if didn't force close often. Also often cannot open the soft keys. Too many bugs. ZTE blade |
[2011-03-22] crz6662: Service popper comes & goes on rooted G1 even though locked. Works pretty well but sometimes freezes. To much delay between button press & operation. |
[2011-03-11] Carlos: Works great. Really useful with a rooted nook |
[2011-03-10] juve: It will kill your battery, uses up to 60% of your battery. NOOK |
[2011-03-08] Shane: Really like the app. Is there a custom control key? |
[2011-03-08] CrazyEye: The button doesn't seem to respond when pressed. Great idea though, HD2 droidxrom |
[2011-03-05] Time Pilot AKA: Works well, I would like to be able to completely disable the popper though--never use it and it gets in the way. |
[2011-03-02] Matt: Great, but force closes frequently, complaining that it can't find su. NOOK Color, CyanogenMod 7 |
[2011-02-25] Dianna: Cannot turn off dpad fix it and I will reinstall it. |
[2011-02-24] Bedwa: Needs way to restart. Frequently looses root and has to kill somehow. Frequently resulting in need to reboot. |
[2011-02-24] Brian and Cecily: Needs way to restart. Frequently looses root and has to kill somehow. Frequently resulting in need to reboot. |
[2011-02-23] Alex: Great app, it needs to be more responsive with the droid x, n also more customization, like colors n change or remove softkeys/dpad |
[2011-02-22] Synaptyc: Great, but only acknowledges pressing the arrow (to make the softkeys pop up) about half the time. DroidX |
[2011-02-19] jekagan: Latest release is KILLING the battery on NC. Always the top app listed in battery consumption. |
[2011-02-18] The 9th Sage: Excellent bit of work. Essential for the Nook Color. |

[2011-02-18] Esam: the idea is great. but it is not easy to use |
[2011-02-17] kevev: Works great on nook color |
[2011-02-17] Lawrence: This app allowed me to at least use my device when the physical buttons broke. Thanks! |
[2011-02-16] cvhovey: Great app and responsive dev. Droid X |
[2011-02-16] Diane: A must on my nook and thank you for the update to have in fixed location. |
[2011-02-16] Connie: Like Diane said, a must have for the Nook Color!! |
[2011-02-16] John: Love this on my nook color! Works perfectly. |
[2011-02-15] Justin: Button bar still drags when dragging servic bar disabled. Needs option to disable d-pad completely or diff way to activate like a bar button. |
[2011-02-13] Albert: Excellent! But wish I could remove ANY button from the button bar. I also keep hitting + and - on D-pad accidentally. Please make them long press. And allow us to make the D-pad background invisible as well. Also, if possible, a page up and a page down button on the button bar. And the ability to add app buttons on the bar too. That would make this app shear perfection. |
[2011-02-05] Matt: This may be the best app ever developed! Only wish that input on d pad registered on press rather than lift and support long press. |
[2011-02-04] madonnell: Works as Droid Pro dpad! Mostly. I found this as a soft navigation pad, since the Droid Pro is lacking in that respect. Works! Thanks! Two, non-show stopper, issues: 1. Some setting disabled the normal home key, and I could not get it back. The home key would vibrate, but not do anything. Double tapping it and/or holding it worked as expected. Deinstalling/reinstalling softkeys "fixed" it. 2. There is no way to disable the toolbar and leave the dpad. I have the toolbar as transparent as possible and off to the side, which works. |
[2011-02-01] Brenda: Love this app. Request: make the button fixed? I keep accidentally dragging it around. |
[2011-01-28] jmchez: Could not use my rooted Nook without this. So grateful! |
[2011-01-26] hackaday: 在nook color上是必须的。可以把按钮的透明度调高,这样那个按钮就不至于太碍事。 |
[2011-01-25] Nathanel: Any way to add setting to switch status bar buttins for nook color on each side of launcher? |
[2011-01-25] Kenny: I really wish this would work. I Don't wanna wear out my back button. Nexus 2.2 NAND Htc Hd2 |
[2011-01-24] utopist: Great app |
[2011-01-16] Google Inc.: Great work, thank you. |
[2011-01-15] the 1/16/2011 Excellent solution (in my opinion) for the NookColor's lack of physical buttons. I love the addition of transparency options. |
