SMS to Text is a SMS backup and restore app which allows you to export your SMS messages to Plain Text and CSV file formats and yes, those files can be read in your phone or computer! Your exported files can be saved on your phone's SD card, and can be restored later. It is fast and easy to backup and restore your SMS messages! In addition to free version, SMS to Text Pro allows you to export your SMS messages to Excel and HTML file formats and send to your email as attachment!

Exports well, import is buggy This is good software to export to CSV and text files. Only thing is when you want to restore the texts back(around 1500 records) it just imports a few and then fails silently. I had to break the file into 3 files so they don't have more than 500 records per file. Then had to restart the phone after every file import, if you don t restart it breaks. Tried a lot n that's the only way it works.

YES! This performs its job very well! This is a wonderful app that just does the simple thing it's supposed to do: save your SMS messages to your filesystem (SD Card) on your Android phone. It does so quickly and flawlessly, so far as I can tell. It has a very clear interface. I have no complaints about this app. It does exactly what I wanted it to do when I downloaded it. So, yes, I recommend it! I am using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean.

Works fine for me This app does what it is supposed to do. I like the idea of exporting to plain text (ASCII) format much better than exporting to e-mail, as so many other apps do. You can access the exported files on any operating system that way. Minor remark: the sorting of imported sms is not necessarily the same as it was when exporting. Does not bother me much, though.

Works Great for Backing Up & Saving Important Texts to your SD Card in a file incase you accidentally delete them or want to so you can free up space & also transfer a copy of the backup file to a computer and Save it! Then if you really wanna go further backup the file from the PC to a Thumb Drrive and you can add it on any computer anywhere & have safe copy in worst case your PC crashes! But restoring them is absolutely so simple! You Lose Nothing you can put every single textback on your phone s if they never left!only downside I haven't found a way to convert th backup file on the PC to a readable printable format looking just like on the phone!

How do I report a bug This has been great, but I lost the last 4 days of texts. If you backup and the media is full, it says backup successful, but of course it wasn't. :-(

The best, end of Most simple and reliable sms backup ive ever used. Csv is the most suitable format for backing up and can be restored easily or read on a computer. Consider emailing the exports to yourself incase you ever lose your phone completely and set a reminder to remind you to backup say once a month.
