SiMi Folder Widget (v. 2.3)

SiMi Folder is a customizable Folder Widget with a horizontal/vertical scrollable Launcher.
(based on the Launcher from SiMi Clock)

Permissions used:

- android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
Without this permission it is not possible to add Contacts to a Folder!

- com.android.browser.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS
Without this permission it is not possible to add Bookmarks to a Folder

- android.permission.CALL_PHONE
You can now use Shortcuts in SiMi Folder. Direct Call Shortcuts are not possible without this permission !

Features

How to

Step 1: Add a new Folder
Step 2: Select the new Folder
Step 3: Link Apps to the Folder ( Button Applications )
Step 4: Add a SiMi Folder Widget to your Homescreen
Step 5: Select the Folder you want to use.

Very good! A bit time consuming to set everything up the way I want it, but at least it can do what I want, and organize all the apps into folders. A scrollable widget would also be nice. Any maybe drag and drop, if it´s possible..

SLOW OPENING It opens really slow. The whole point of having the folder is to give you quick access to many apps. At this speed I'm better off just going to my app drawer. But its convenient, SO SPEED UP PLEASE!(: -Samsung Exhibit!

Average It's hard to use and set up. It's cumbersome. But once set up it works well. It doesn't seem like the dev even supports this app anymore, no updates or improvements for the last year.

Can't find some apps For some reason I am unable to find certain apps on my phone to put in the folder I desired. Such as draw something in my game folder. Please fix.

Great Widget It's a fantastic widget for cleaning up your homescreen, sleek and fluid. My one problem is unique to my customization. I hide the stock Android status bar and it makes a reappearance every time I open a folder.

Best out there Now has folder backup... works great... Really streamlined my desktop and handles my apps great. Suggest downloading good collevtion of icon in png format and saving on sd card .. Use gallery or file manager from simi folder settings.

Amazing & Useful App with a few glitches I love this widget and use it for all my desktop organization needs. It integrates seamlessly into the android UI and even allows customized icons for the folders! Unfortunately, updating your apps can cause those apps to disappear from the folders and go missing from the list of apps to add to the customized folders. This can usually be fixed by selecting Tools>Reload Data Cache. Sometimes the problem still persists though. I've found a workaround by creating shortcuts in Simi Folder, referencing an Any Cut shortcut to the app.

noData (can't add apps) When I try to add apps to my folder, all I see is "noData" and I can't add anything. The Overview says (and shows) that there should be an "Applications" button but there isn't. I am trying to use the +Add button within the folder's settings but that doesn't work either. A little slow but good Needs drag and drop. Ability to customize app icons within would be cool too. My main complaint is how slow it is. I have all my apps in those folders and waiting to get to them sucks. But other than that really a great app.

App shortcuts missing since update Use to love it, but recent updates to certain programs (Reddit Is Fun, Google Play) have left missing icons in my Simi Folder setups. When I go back into SF to re-add the programs, they are missing from the internal list of programs. They appear in my App Drawer, but not in SF's listing. This kinda renders SF useless... HTC Desire Z (Tmobile G2). EDIT: Issue fixed. All is well again. I'll probably buy the Pro version!

Perfect I use it all day everyday and don't even notice it (kind of what I want from a widget like this.) There is no option for adding the new Play Store icon to a folder though. Fix that? Great app!
