SHREDroid (v. 1.1.6) Разработано infsyssec |
WARNING: Issues with this application have been reported on the MOTOROLA series of devices. After getting such devices we will try to replicate this error and fix it. Installation for those devices is not recommended until this is resolved. Please do report all the issues to us and read our FAQs: www.securedeletion.com/faq.html
-----------------------------------------------------------
SHREDroid forces your Android phone to overwrite deleted data so that it is actually deleted and can no longer be recovered.
Our smart phones store sensitive personal and business data such as emails, SMS messages, pictures, and our web browsing histories. Unfortunately deletion on phones is not immediate. Even after you delete your email or clear your browser's cache, the data will remain on your phone typically for days or even months, depending on phone usage. This data is easily recoverable with minimal effort by technically-knowledgable persons.
Standard countermeasures do not help, such as overwriting files with random data, due to special features of the Android's file system (namely the use of journaling). Even encryption does not help as the associated key must be stored temporarily in memory and is recoverable after deletion.
Our SHREDroid application solves this problem. SHREDroid forces your Android phone to overwrite the sections of storage where deleted data resides so that the data is really deleted and cannot be recovered.

[2012-09-03] Richard: Crashes HTC vivid. Fc's even when I don't start it. |
[2012-08-29] Daniel: Defunct This out-and-out refuses to work for me. It will not shred internal and/or external data, forcing a quit every time I try. A device-specific problem, I have to assume. |
[2012-08-23] Miguel: Not working on Android ICS Does not works at all with Ice Cream Sandwish. |
[2012-07-31] RH: Doesn't load Crashes on start of wipe. |
[2012-07-30] Daniel: HTC One S - no shred.. Fails on every attempt in any combination of settings. Poor |
[2012-06-21] Jeff: Motorola Droid 3 Safe for Motorola Droid 3 users. Took a chance, even after reading the warning about motorola phones, and app worked fine. I could barely use my phone while it was running but that was only for 30 min. Considering theres hardly anything out there of its kind for android and the known issues, this app worked just fine. Def could use some improvements but the Developers are def aware. Look forward to the improvements as this is the only app of its kind. |
[2012-06-20] Sanjiv: Does not work with ICS 4.0.3 Have used on Galaxy S2... little buggy but works... upgraded to 4.0.3 and now it doesn't work at all. Please update... |

[2012-02-22] Gaëtan: Need work Resource hog. Need documentation and options but I really like the concept |
[2012-02-19] MartinS: User interface needs work Trialed on Samsung Galaxy S1 & 10." Tab, worked fine on both with some issues. Seems to function by filling all the empty space with files or data, could be an issue if you stop it before it cleans up. Would do better if you could select start time, and had more than 48hrs as maximum interval between scans, I woukd prefer to be able to stop the scedule and just run mamually whi I think it's needed, plus given the risk of stopping early it needs a reliable progress indicator. Finally I set 48hrs as scan interfal, but second scan started only 2hrs later, not good. |
[2012-01-16] Michael: Needs improvement Needs to be much more verbose. Doesn't shred cluster tips. Overwrite method unknown. Starts randomly without checking "run as background service"; what the hell is it doing? |
[2012-01-13] Eric: Shreds who knows what, without warning I read about this and downloaded it just because it seemed like something that might come in handy sometime. Didn't even launch it. Several days later I looked at my phone and Shredroid was in the status bar. Notification said "Shredroid is shredding." WHAT?! Panicked, I tried to pull up the app but it wouldn't open so that I could see what was happening. What was it shredding? So I did a force stop from running processes. Then I went to open the app and got that initial screen where it asks you to accept or refuse the end user agreement. So I hadn't even done that yet but it had already started shredding unknown stuff? Bad news. So I went to delete it and my list of apps was drowned in molasses. It's like all the memory was taken up and it could only stutter a few steps at a time, all the way through the alphabet to S. Finally I got there and uninstalled it and then everything ran smoothly. I reinstalled it temporarily just so I could add this review/warning and now I'll uninstall it again. This needs to be rethought. Droid Incredible 2 running Virtuous Unity ROM. |
[2012-01-02] ToeJamm: Don't bother. It doesn't work AT ALL. It WILL force close and re-boot your phone, however. |

[2011-06-15] Micah: Dead Droid X This issue started way before the warning was posted. My Droid X has been hijacked by this app and has been on a constant reboot cycle for the past 8 hours. I can't even get to the uninstall app to get rid of it. I truly hope the developers of this app resolve this issue quickly, and for their sake, ensure there's no damage done to those who trusted in their service. |
