The default cache size on the HTC EVO is 4kb. This is absurdly small. Using this app, you can set it as high as 4096kb (4mb)

This app will allow you to change the value on the fly without any need to reboot. Very handy for quickly finding the sweet spot for that new class 10 sdcard you just bought!

*Choose to set the value at boot time and forget about it!
*Never have to worry if the ROM you are using supports the necessary start-up scripts needed for the manual tweak.

This app may or may not work on devices not listed at the top. If you try it and do not have one of those, please share your results in the comments (bearing in mind I ALREADY said it may not work, so don't write that the app sucks because it doesn't work on your phone)

The screen shots showing test results were taking using the free SD Tools app with a stock sdcard. The next release will include a built in speed tester as well.

Once it has been tested on more phones I will also release a free diagnostic tool to help enabling it to work for all devices.

Works quite well as advertised-Galaxy S (Vibrant) Installed it on my Vibrant and tested against the built-in SD memory. Boosted a lot the read and write performance (average speed 30.0 MB per second setting it at 2048). It now has an "Apply On Boot" setting which will be quite useful. Haven't tried it yet but expect no complications whatsoever. Would give it 4.5 stars because of the user interface can be polished, but since I can't then it gets its well deserved five stars.

Works on Samsung Galaxy S 4G But will not set on boot reverts back to default 128k. It doubled my write speed from 12-15Mb to 30-32Mb, read speed went from 2-3Mb to 6-7Mb and had burst over 15Mb. You have to play with numbers to get the best performance. Would have given it 5 stars if it was not for the revert at boot.

Didn't work on my rooted CM7-RC4 Nexus One Copied a file before and after installing your program. Increased the cache to maximum but it didn't make a difference. Both copies took 4 minutes. I was hopeful, would have kept it if it worked for me.

Works on Milestone with 2.2 update An amazing app, just not sure if it will work before purchase, turn out to be the best $1 I spend on!! Never mind it speed up the SD Tools speed test by a lot, the most important part is the loading speed of the app on sd card has increase by a lot, and I can play video with lag! Save me from getting a fast sd card! Only increase the cache from 128k to 512k will do the job, anything higher will slow the sd tools test's write speed down...

Works great on Motorola XT720 According to SD Tools increasing my cache from 128KB -> 2048KB with this app increased my read speed by 160%.

Tremendously amazing app! Works on my rooted evo 4g. I set it at 2048 and my speeds are 5.8 write and 42.7 read on a class 2 16gb card. Amazing!
