Get your Screen on!  Screebl is an application that controls your screen based on orientation.  It's better than SmartStay and it works on any phone, not just Samsung.  Never have the screen turn off again while using your phone, and SAVE BATTERY too.  It's possible with Screebl!

Screebl works based on a simple observation:  we generally hold our phones or tablets in roughly the same positions when we're using them.  Screebl uses the accelerometer in your mobile device to detect how you're holding your phone, and when your device is within a configurable range, the screen is kept on.  Move out of that range, and Screebl releases the lock and the screen is allowed to go off.  It sounds simple (and it is), but it works amazingly well!

How does Screebl save power?  Well, it's simple.  On most phones, the screen is the single largest consumer of battery power.  With Screebl running you can reduce the average amount of time that your screen is on by only keeping it on when you're ACTUALLY using your phone.  The amount of savings can vary significantly by device and usage patterns, but it is not uncommon for users to see savings of 20% or more.  See our web site for more details.

Works great on my GS4! shuts off when laid flat and stays on when I hold it. Proximity sensor shuts off screen when I put it in my pocket. Works as designed! It's become a must have app on my phone.

No configuration options are present; author seems to be a fraud; crashes I purchased the Screebl Pro version program & installed same from Google Play. However the main screen does not have any configuration options as shown in the author's video. There is no visible way to configure this program. Sent the author an email on May 16, 2013 but have had no response. Tried uninstalling & re-installing from Google Play (which still shows that I have purchased the app), but that doesn't help. I also have a sneaking suspicion that this app (it was either this one or Avast! Mobile, and I'd tend to trust them more than this guy who presents misleading promotional material and doesn't respond to customer email) has also caused my phone to repeatedly generate as many as 22 repetitions of the same text messages (from multiple senders and carriers), caused my phone to not ring on incoming calls (and sometimes not to even display a missed call or waiting voice mail message, and finally, to prevent me from being able to access my phone's settings. HTC One X +

Essential Awesome. Great in combo with Juice Defender and Lux, solving the biggest battery drainers, the screen and 4g cell connection. Especially great for AMOLED screens. Makes my phone easier to use. Screen on when you want it on, off when you want it off! I am using the beta version of Screebl, because this doesn't work properly on 4.1, but I'm OK with that because the beta is great and I just wanted to support the developer!

Disables on-call on-phone screen ear-detect Great product. My phone (HTC EVO 4g LTE) won't let me use any other apps while on the phone, as it detects my finger as being held up against my ear. Screeble disables this when the phone is held in my standard position. It also does save battery life. Suggestions for improvement: (1) label the diagrams not only as 0-90 degrees, but 0 degrees: flat (flat on back, screen up) and 90 degrees (vertical) to avoid questions of coordinate origin (took me a while to figure this out for sure). (2) allow not only an "invert" for lying down but a "rotate" (duplicate sensor angle range, rotated by 90 degrees). When sitting and holding, I hold up a few degrees from flat. When lying with my head propped up, I tilt it a few degrees from vertical towards me. This is more of a duplication or rotation than an inversion. It might also be nice to have a control for this tilted-forward-of-vertical angle so people could configure both for sitting/standing, and separately for lying. Regardless, a great app. I should have downloaded it a long time ago.

Good idea, poor execution Great idea, but it lacks proximity sensor integration. Orientation is always out of range in bed even with the most relaxed settings and the inverse range option doesn't help. It's won't lock if you put it down on a pile of clothes at an angle, and you can't put it down on a desk and read.

This is outdated If you're having problems with this version, use "Screeble beta". The beta has a bunch of compatibility improvements and will eventually be rolled into this version. However, the beta does NOT have support for the motion sensor option that is in this version, so if this (non beta version) works OK on your tablet/phone, no need to update.

Does what I bought it for, mostly Each day, it saves several pushes on my RAZR's cheap power switch. Occasionally, it fails to recognizes that I'm holding it in the active position, and turns the phone until I open the adjustment setting. Then it starts and keeps working for a reasonable time.

On settings you can find a perfect solution, you just need to enable it as it's not out of the box. I always wanted S3 feature that uses camera to work as advertised but it did not... If you haven't got it yet, you're missing out. To reinstate what this app does : saves battery, stops the screen going of when your reading, and doesn't cost a penny if you don't want to pay for it. You'll wonder how you used your phone without it afterwards, honestly. Minimal battery usage by the app itself - seems to be no problems, on my Nexus 4 at least.

Great App This app does exactly as it says. With the phone I have I always had an issue of the screen timing out while I was streaming movies on my phone. There was no option to keep the screen from timing out. This app has resolved that issue.

Good concept but resource hog I love the idea of this and it certainly works well on my Dell streak. The problem is that the entire phone is significantly slower. This can be reduced by dropping the polling interval but it's still noticeable. As soon as I turn it off the phone springs back into life.

Revised Opinion Worth every cent. If you have a problem keeping your screen on this is the app to have. I've used it for so long I had forgotton about this app until I needed to be able to keep the screen on my new Nexus Google tablet on for longer than 30 minutes without having it go to sleep. I thought of this. It is perfection. Setup is easy you merely set your range of motion and it does the rest. It does everything is claims!! I definitely recommend it.

Battery drain became too high... Was using this app from the beginning and I was excited. I even bought the PRO version...then, ICS came. For some reason Screebl became one of the biggest battery eater apps on my phone. I even found my phone completely "dead" in the morning several times so I was forced to remove it. Guys, review it and improve it...graphics, ICS compatibility, battery drain...there are only some of the things it needs.
