Protect your Trion Account and RIFT login with 2-step verification.

The RIFT Mobile Authenticator is an optional application that provides an additional layer of authentication for your Trion account and helps prevent unauthorized account usage. Every time you launch RIFT, you will use the RIFT Mobile Authenticator to generate a unique serial code to enter into the login screen in addition to your password.

Using the RIFT Mobile Authenticator is easy:
* Load the app onto your mobile device
* Follow the in-app directions to connect the app to your Trion Account
* Sign in to RIFT with a more secure account

In addition to enhanced security, linking the RIFT Mobile Authenticator to your account will earn you the in-game title “The Ironclad.”

NOTE: Please contact Trion Customer Service before removing or reinstalling the RIFT Mobile Authenticator. The Mobile Authenticator must be removed from your account at the account level. If you uninstall or reinstall the Mobile Authenticator before contacting Customer Service, the Authenticator will still be enabled for your RIFT account, and you will not be able to log in to the game.

Works Great As Long As Nothing Happens To Your Pho They have in very small print that the authenticator must be removed at the account level prior to uninstalling from your mobile device. So if you are like me or any of the millions of other users who had an Android update or maybe you had your phone stolen, damaged, or had a factory reset without going through the uninstall process on your account on the website, you will be unable to play. If it was on a weekend, like it is for me you will likely have to wait until Monday and them sit forever on hold.

Locked out I agree with the below comment should you have any problems with your phone and are forced to reset or upgrade for any reason you are locked out from playing and are also forced to call in but the trick is to call in during the day when their call center is open. What kind of lame game company doesnt do support 24/7?

works as adrvertised this app works as advertised. i have had only one issue in the past several months since its release and it was today, when it was broken due to phone update. called customer service and had the old authentication code removed and new added in less than 10 mins. i experienced excellent customer service to get this resolved.

Clarifying, it DOES work after the update! To clarify, the authenticator DOES work after updating your phone to Gingerbread (Android 2.3). What people are missing is that you need to call TRION and remove the old authenticator BEFORE updating your phone. Again, there is no problem with the authenticator other than that TRION does not allow you to remove it from your account without calling them.

broken authenticator Great idea initially until the 2.3 update. This is an on going issue from the beginning of April that hasn't been fixed yet. Uninstalling and reinstalling as advised does not fix this issue. Two versions of this app need to be made: one for those installing on older devices and one for those installing on newer ones. The ability to remove this from your RIFT account would be helpful, but not necessary if a second version can be designed to work with 2.3. Otherwise, a warning about updating needs to be added

Be very careful - app can lock you out While a good idea, the implementation is poor. A phone software upgrade will break this app and you WILL be locked out of the game. The only solution is to call Trion (only available M-F, 9AM-9PM in the US), wait in the call queue hell, and then go through getting the authenticator removed from your account. This is a poor design and it's unsatisfactory too take people's money for a game subscription, offer them "better security," and then not have it work through an upgrade without 24/7 support.

Updated to 2.3 now its broken. (HTC EVO) The app worked fine (not as good as Blizzards authenticator but fine nonetheless). Then I updated to 2.3 only to find out that I am unable to get a code now and I've tried using 3g, 4g and WiFi. I'll rate higher when they fix this issue, till then I have to wait for trion support because they are NOT 24/7.

Not working here. 2.3.4 Not working for me on 2.3.4. Security code box is and stays empty since i updated to 2.3 and backed it and its data up. Also reflashed back to 2.1 to test and reinstalled from my backup, works like normal. I don't feel like downgrading again though so hopefully they fix it. *fingers crossed*
