I think it depends mainly on your ROM...not sure yet.
Anyways, just try it out, reboot, and check to see if its still active. What's happening is the app is making the changes but the phone is restoring the permissions on each boot. Sadly there is nothing I can do about this.

There is a donate version as well, if you'd like to donate for my time :)

How is this different from Privacy Blocker?
1) Permissions is free.
2) Permissions is open source.
3) Permissions does not break market updates for apps that you deny permissions to.
4) Permissions has no reported FC yet?
5)Did I mention Permissions is free?

So, basically, Permissions allows you to effectively control the permissions that apps which are installed onto your phone, via the market or some other source.

You must reboot before these changes take place and be aware that denying an app a permission that it is requesting may result in the app Force Closing.

Awsome app. Use with DroidWall (block internet access to apps). At first the app didn't seem to hold changes after rebooting. If you select reboot from app setting the changes have held over multiple reboots. So if you change permissions and just exit app the changes probably wont hold. Samsung Galaxy s running cognition 5 v2.

Great concept, but caused boot loop Great in concept, but it caused a boot loop after changing some permissions. Had to restore from nandroid backup to fix it. I like it, but can only give 3 stars due to the risk. Use with caution!

Won't work on my gtablet No matter what ROM I use the permissions settings won't stay. I love the idea of this, Android should have had it by default long ago. Please please please make this play well with gtablet roms! If you (stericson) can pull that off I'll buy this app plus several others! Yes I want this to work that badly. The 5 star rating isn't a mistake. The app is awesome, it just happens to not work on my device.
