Orientation Control (v. 1.4) Разработано Coin Soft |
Orientation control is the first TRUE orientation locking app that can lock the orientation in LANDSCAPE or PORTRAIT mode.
NO rooting required!
Orientation Control serves two main purposes:
1. As an orientation lock
2. As an easy to access orientation switch shortcut. No more going through the long process of opening Settings > Display to toggle auto rotate! Even more, gain the ability to force the orientation to portrait or landscape - a feature not natively supported by Android.
Orientation Control can lock the orientation to SIX modes:
1. Landscape
2. Reversed Landscape (Android 2.3.1 and above only)
3. Portrait (Same as disabling auto rotate in phone's settings)
4. Forced Portrait (Always in portrait regardless of app!)
5. Reversed Portrait (Android 2.3.1 and above only)
6. Auto Rotate
Features:
# Lock orientation with an app shortcut, notification or long-press search
# Cycle or selector switch mode
# Includes Tasker / Locale plug-in
** IMPORTANT NOTE **
Because of the way Orientation Control forces the Orientation in Landscape/Forced Portrait modes, certain applications that do not support that orientation might not display properly (such as full-screen games which are only in landscape being forced to portrait). Simply switch the orientation to Portrait or Auto Rotate mode when this happens.

[2013-07-27] A Google User: The Best Buck Fifty I Ever Spent! OK, that't not saying much ;) but I had at least three apps that were driving me nuts by displaying only in portrait when I prefer working in landscape. All are now behaving themselves. Thank you, thank you, thank you! |
[2013-07-08] A Google User: Brilliant The only rotation app that actually does anything! Saved my sanity, thanks. |
[2013-07-06] A Google User: Very nice. If you need your Droid desktop in landscape, it is perfect. It will not auto rotate the desktop but still works. |
[2013-07-03] A Google User: Broken? Reverse Landscape and Landscape are the same orientation on my Nexus 7 now which means the app is useless currently with my in car install. |
[2013-06-11] A Google User: Reversed portrait not working I have a nexus 4 and the reverse portrait doesn't work. But when I switch to auto it will reverse portrait the screen for a sec then turn back to normal. Everything else works as advertised. |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Okay It's okay. I'm using s4 and it'd be nice if I could long press the menu button to switch orientation since there's no search button |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: Saved my rooted RAZR from the trash My rooted RAZR kept rotating all by itself and it was driving me bonkers but this app saved my day |
[2013-06-04] A Google User: Force Portrait not working. |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Spotify sucks without landscape.. This will do the job for u, looks super nice now and i dont have to look like a idiot when going trough spotify and other apps! |
[2013-04-17] A Google User: Pft Doesn't work on 3vo or tf101 |
[2013-04-06] A Google User: ICS - reverse portrait problem In ICS, reverse portrait mode has some problem. At first it didn't work, but after clicking my some widget( which toggles auto display rotation) it worked. So I suggest that you turn on auto ratation mode and then run this app's reverse portrait. If you use an automation apps like locale or tasker, you can make it do at one click as you know. |
[2013-03-25] A Google User: Almost! It is a good app. It needs to be able to rotate the lockscreen and the calling screen as other apps do in order to be perfect |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: freezes MB520 We bought this for two phones, both Motorola MB520 running Android 2.2.2. It worked great -- when it worked. However, it often froze our phones with a black screen that resumed after a few minutes (not seconds). After uninstalling this app, we've had no such problems. |
[2013-03-20] A Google User: Needs Tasker Support Awesome app. Tasker capabilities are exactly what I was looking for, except it sometimes doesn't switch to reverse portrait mode when tasker asks it to. When I try to do it manually, Orientation Switch acts as if it IS in reverse portrait, so I have to mark "Portrait" then "Reverse Portrait" again to make it happen. |
[2013-02-23] A Google User: Perfect for what I need. This app is small and unobtrusive. The ability to activate the app via long pressing the search button on my phone is extremely convenient (and there are other options to activate as well). Well done! |
[2013-02-19] A Google User: Great product It's exactly what I needed. Glad to pay |
[2013-02-10] A Google User: THANK YOU THANK YOU I don't know why every developer doesn't make this a native option. Works on my tablet. |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: Good but needs update The app does as advertised. However it was designed pre-accessibility era, so the app is constantly fighting for position on the notifications bar. It needs to be updated, as the flickering is really annoying. |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: Nice Works good on my Lg Motion.Kool and it comes in handy |
[2013-01-05] A Google User: ICS support? Doesnt work anymore after upgrading sony tablet s to ics...pls update! Cant get reverse portrait to work now... |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Asus Transformer If you want your transformer to reverse landscape while in the dock this will not help you. |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: simply the best |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Buggy to the point of being nearly useless 1. Reverse landscape doesn't work at all. 2. Locked screen only keeps orientation when set to Autorotate, otherwise reverts to landscape left. There are better, free alternatives with tasker plugins. |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: One of a kind I used this before on my Samsung Galaxy Ace (Froyo). Now that I have an SGS2 running on custom Jelly Bean, I can't believe it still works!!! |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Needs a bit of work I would like it to reset when the screen goes off. The orientation of the screen does reset but the selector doesn't reset to auto rotation. |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Works perfect Nothing much I can say other then it works |
[2012-11-15] A Google User: Landscape & Reversed landscape issue on Note 10.1 The app rotates the portrait modes just fine, but I can't seem to get the landscape modes to work and it doesn't seem to do anything. Not only in apps, its not even working on the home screen. |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Not so great after all After closer inspection it seems there is a tradeoff with this kind of apps that causes stutters in fps intensive games and also videos. There are better free alternatives that give option to disable when needed so I'm dropping the rating.. |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Doesn't work as expected There is no auto rotate. 1star for a useless app |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Excellent! I needed this to lock ConnectBot into landscape mode. Perfect. |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Excellent Exactly what I was looking for! Works like a charm! |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Buggy with jelly bean |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Perfect. This app is exactly what I was searching for on my Galaxy Note. Home screen icons are finally in landscape mode! 5 stars. |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Works perfectly on TF101 with the dock I can finally read ebooks in portrait orientation without having to disconnect the dock. :) |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: What? Does nothing on my phone.when I try to open it it barely gives a dialogue box that says "ok" and "cancel" and ok opens Google play and says item not found. Give my money back you suckers Edit: tried opening in Google play and the above happens, try open in app drawer and it works like a beast! Great app |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: First class. Does what native Android should do. |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: Perfect app This app is really flexible and did exactly what I needed. Combined with Home2, I can force rotate my screen by double clicking the home button. It's awesome! |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: Best, can be access very quick Best, can be access very quick from notification bar. |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Works great but... Great app and VERY useful. One gripe. The checkbox for "Screen off reset" is supposed to "Revert to default orientation when device screen is turned off". My default is auto rotate mode, but it does not revert to that as I would expect. This may work for some, but not for me. One easy for the developer to fix this issue would be to allow the user to choose which mode to go into after screen is turned off, with their current "default" as the default choice (so not to confuse people who like it the way it works now). This is the only thing I don't like about the app, very annoying, but that should be an easy fix. The only problem is that it hasn't been updated in over a year, so this may be a lost cause. Hopefully not. As a bonus, it would be worth 10 stars if this app could use the sensor and auto rotate even for apps that don't rotate by default. ------------------ UPDATE: FYI so you won't do the same: I now feel like I wasted $1.49 because I just found another app called "Ultimate Rotation Control" that will AUTO rotate and LOCK any app I've tried, EVEN THE LOCK SCREEN! |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Must have! Works awesome on my HTC EVO 4g. Now I can force landscape mode and use my kickstand. Love it! |
[2012-08-30] A Google User: Great, sometimes works intermittently I love the functionality, especially the search button quick shortcut. The only issue is that orientation intermittently switches to portrait when forced on landscape, then will suddenly go back to portrait (in ANY app). It is hard to reproduce, but it happens a lot. Any way this can be fixed? [UPDATE] - To fix the issues I've been having, just simply ENABLE the notification icon on your system tray. It will take up another permanent spot, but it will stop the erratic switching to portrait. [FIXED!] |
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Doesnt work for asus tf700t... Developer needs to fix it so it works for asus new tf700t tablet. When you try to switch orientation, message says tablet screen was oriented, but the screen remains the same. The best on the market. I use it for samsung tab 7.7, tf101, galaxy note, acer a500. Works great, except for tf700t. Please fix for tf700t. |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: missing it's missing force auto rotate, other than that great app |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Sony s need update |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Works well Just what is needed |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: Good! works fine! |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Best thing out there. It's not just an auto rotate on off switch like the other apps, it can lock your screen into portrait or landscape mode. |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Force portrait through MHL When connected through MHL HDMI adapter, the phone automatically goes into landscape mode. Nothing was working until I tried this app. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Works on ASUS Transformer TF101 Bought this to fix the issue with the new Spotify client not showing properly in landscape mode (i.e. when pad is docked). Locking the pad into landscape mode with this app does make Spotify display correctly in landscape so it works perfectly for my needs. |
[2012-07-28] A Google User: Close, but not quite. I had expected Auto Rotate to rotate the main display, it doesn't on my Galaxy S2. Using the button works so I am happy enough with that. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Misleading doesn't work for all apps/displays I was under the impression I could get portrait/landscape settings in any screen or app....obviously I assumed that meant dialer and home screen for car docking user friendliness. WRONG. So with a buck and a half down the drain, I'm STILL looking for TRUE "orientation control". Also the google play ad says it will work on all my devices... WRONG AGAIN! It works to a small degree on my Droid Razr, but not on my Pantech Element tab, or Pantech Burst smartphone! I wish I could rate it "0" stars, but you get my drift. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Only app works so far This is the only one that works the rest just not working for me This developer deserved every cent! Thank you! |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Perfect Exactly what I need |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: One of the most useful apps. You can force all apps in one screen orientation in one click. Even the lock screen... |
[2012-07-09] A Google User: Nice Please show active status (landscape or portrait, etc) on drop down status bar. Others just great. |
[2012-07-03] A Google User: Doesn't work on Sensation XE with ICS Doesn't work on Sensation XE with ICS - refunded. |
[2012-07-03] A Google User: UPDATE TO ICS! GEEZ!!! If you have a cover for your tablet with a flap to cover front, and your OS is or will be upgrading to ICS, don't get this app. They're not updating to support it and some controls DON'T work. There's updated ones in the market. |
[2012-06-24] A Google User: . Worked perfectly when in status bar but unstable when opting for shortcut access . I guess it's back to status bar. |
[2012-06-21] A Google User: Just what I needed! Very functional, recommended! |
[2012-06-20] A Google User: Excellent when used with GPS apps on my motorcycle In short - an excellent app. I use my Android smartphone as a GPS when riding my motorcycle. It sits on the tank bag, and with the power and headphone wires and the gel case it sits happily throughout my weekly 360 mile each way commute - as long as I don't run over logs, deer, politicians, etc and bounce it off. Sitting on the tank bag, though, the almost-horizontal orientation causes the auto rotate feature to favor portrait mode, while I prefer to use the GPS in landscape mode. This app allows me to force landscape orientation when I want it. It even allows reverse portrait orientation, which allows me to place the phone inside the map pocket when I'm riding in rain. I orient the phone "upside down" with the wires coming out the rear edge of the map pocket, locating the phone so it doesn't wander around in the pocket and become hard to reach. The orientation switch activator on the notification status bar is excellent: I can turn on the GPS and orient the screen in one easy sequence. Now if I can find a way of suppressing the "battery full" message that insists on coming up when the phone is plugged in (as it needs to be when using GPS) I'd be really happy. |
[2012-06-20] A Google User: A must-have for ASUS Transformer users My tablet always forces rotation when I attach it to the keyboard dock, butt thanks to this app, it does what I want it to do! Loads of customization options and taskbar icon makes this very easy to use. Thanks for making this! |
[2012-06-19] A Google User: Reversed lanscape not working Want reversed lanscape to maximise use of tablet case - however doesnt work. Running android v4.0.3 |
[2012-06-17] A Google User: Needs ICS update This app was a life saver on my Sony Tablet S. But since the Ice Cream Sandwich update it no longer sees a difference between "Portrait" and "Reverse Portrait." They are the same. This is important since my tablet is wedge shaped. Once they fix that for ICS, I will give it five stars. |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: Life saver |
[2012-06-10] A Google User: Some defect Motorola XOOM It once worked quite well with Android 3.x. But after the OS upgraded to 4.0, 'reversed landscape' doesn't reverse. Though I'm not sure this defect is caused by the OS or this app. |
[2012-06-08] A Google User: Was a lifesaver. .. ...but the latest update messes with the camera on Galaxy Note. Have had to uninstall until it's fixed :( |
[2012-06-07] A Google User: No auto rotate in ICS Gnex I bought this to work around the lack of landscape homescreens in ICS. While I can now force landscape, I want auto rotate. Please fix this. |
[2012-06-06] A Google User: Transformer Prime Works well except when on lockscreen it forgets settings. There is a free app called set orientation that remembers preferred orientation while on lockscreen. Will upgrade to 5 stars if this app gets that fixed in future versions. For now its back to the set orientation app. |
[2012-06-01] A Google User: Does exactly what it says Great app, only thing that could make it better is if you could force which direction it switched. |
[2012-06-01] A Google User: Excellent** Exactly what I was looking for Works excellently |
[2012-05-27] A Google User: Great App for HTC devices Honestly unless you have a landscape physical QWERTY keyboard, you can't get the Sense UI home screen on landscape mode. This works! |
[2012-05-24] A Google User: Great App! Using this on my Sony Tablet Service I can now hold it the way I want to :-) |
[2012-05-21] A Google User: HTC Desire S Doesn't really work for me sadly, home screen doesn't rotate properly and I can't place them in the full screen area to make up for this. Can't get a refund either, annoying. |
[2012-05-19] A Google User: Can't use with Sony tablet s ics Before ics, it worked fine. But after ics, I can't use reversed portrait mode for some applications, for example, temple run. Please correct this function which I usually use. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: F'n AWESOME!!!! Can't believe I didnt use this app earlier. This is one for the must have utilities list! |
[2012-05-11] A Google User: Well worth it Does exactly what it says it will. Very useful for forcing to portrait mode when reading from my Kindle app on my tablet. |
[2012-04-19] A Google User: Impressed! Works flawlessly on the transformer prime, especially useful to force apps like spotify into landscape mode. |
[2012-04-16] A Google User: Forced Portrait mode -- yea! THIS is the autorotate app you're looking for if you're a reader. It keeps the tablet in portrait mode when reading a book. And every other option you can imagine. Very well coded by the Coin Soft author. |
[2012-04-10] A Google User: Great Droid 2 Global. Exactly what i needed. Thanks |
[2012-04-05] A Google User: Needs lock on current orientation widget. There needs to be a widget that will lock the screen in whatever orientation you are currently holding the phone at, or one that you push the widget, turn the phone and then it locks on that orientation. Needs auto portrait and auto landscape mode. Poor developer response. Try ultimate orientation lock. |
[2012-03-27] A Google User: Great app. Simple and efficient Does what it should perfectly. On the very top of my Android apps list. |
[2012-03-27] A Google User: Sony tablet s Just downloaded this in anticipation of using the STM Skinny case in reversed landscape mode. I can confirm it works perfectly. Kudos to the developer. |

[2012-03-21] A Google User: Fantastic I have a Droid X and this says exactly what it means you can lock orientation in portrait or landscape mode whenever wherever. You can even use landscape on the home screen. Excellent app, worth every cent. |

[2012-03-02] A Google User: Stopped me from pulling my hair out! I have an inexpensive Coby Kyros MID7022, a very nice little tablet with great functionality. However, the one thing I hated about it was the default orientation to landscape mode. After several months of searching, I came across this app and by GOD, it is a life saver. At first, changing the setting to Portrait did not work, but that Forced Portrait mode did the trick. Kudos to the developer and much, much thanks. I highly recommend this app. |
[2012-02-25] A Google User: Excellent This is just what i needed my galaxy note to keep in landscape |
[2012-02-25] the 3/2/2012 : Excellent This is just what i needed my galaxy note to keep in landscape |

[2012-02-22] A Google User: Short Return Period. Ultimate Rotation Control is better and gives a 7 day trial period. I would give this app 4 out of 5 except for the short 15 minute return period. It's insulting. The app loses one star for that alone. |
