Noise Canceller (v. 1.0.2) Разработано Haowen Ning |
1.0.2: Fix more FC bugs.
As the name suggest, this app will try to lower the environment noise by generating a phase-inverted wave of the noise. Due to a delay of sampling and playing(no realtime sound api in android), user will need to change the phase and amplitude manually to get the best effect.

[2013-11-01] A Google User: could work if you made some changes as it is it doesn't work. If you had a series of samples instead of it trying to block out the real world noise I think it would work alot better. Plus after a few minutes of fiddling it stopped sampling. Get things like white noise, pink noise, ac and airplanes in a loop and let us adjust the phases of those and you got something that would really work. Real world sampling would never work as an app. It only works on bose because its instantaneous and built into the headphone. I might add it doesn't work all the well. You are on to something but this is the wrong approach. |
[2013-10-27] A Google User: Doesn't work on HTC one. There is a delay so the sound cancellation effest doesn't work. |
[2013-10-21] A Google User: I wish it worked The big problem I found is that it was too slow inverting the sounds. All it really did was create a echo that was usually louder than the source. It might work on some constiant noises but the ones I tested (airplane, bus, fan, and a/c) it just made it worse. If the app could process the sounds as fast as the mic is picking them up it might work. There is also a clicking noise that starts from time to time. Thought it was from me tapping the screen at first but it happened other times too. |
[2013-10-16] A Google User: Not quite there Not that effective |
[2013-10-02] A Google User: Good idea but unfortunatelly cant work Phone will be always slow for this... digitizing the sound takes time. Also quality of replay is crapy... |
[2013-09-30] A Google User: Useless Doesnt work at all |
[2013-09-27] A Google User: one of its kind. but doesn't work. SGS2 Doesn't work |
[2013-09-26] A Google User: why why does a noise cancelation app need to read anything about a phone or device its on? |
[2013-09-16] A Google User: Good Good |
[2013-08-29] A Google User: Fail Trying to cancel out the air conditioning noise. Fail |
[2013-08-15] A Google User: Great idea... but not great... If only there was a way to make this better... This would be best app ever if it worked like Bose or Parrot Zik noise cancelling headphones... |
[2013-08-06] A Google User: RAZR HD maxx I think its a great idea |
[2013-08-05] A Google User: Great idea hamstrung by android Android just can't process and send the signal fast enough... About a half second delay between the noise and the inverted signal, which sadly makes this app utterly useless. The concept is there though..! |
[2013-07-08] A Google User: Beware Creates a high pitch sound sometimes while using the sliders which can startle you. Kudos to the developer for the idea. However does not work due to delays in sound processing - hardware / OS dependency. |
[2013-07-01] A Google User: Sends texts to contacts It sent adverts via texts to.my contacts. Very dodgy app |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Not effective at all :( Tested this out and the delay between input and output is too great to compensate for any surrounding noise. |
[2013-06-27] A Google User: Horrible A great idea, but relay is too slow between mic and headphone. |
[2013-06-11] A Google User: Garbage Doesn't work |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Nice idea, but... Produced no perceptible difference in any background noise tested. |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Doesnt do any thing, huge lag |
[2013-05-13] A Google User: Too long delay There is a 1 sec delay in the sound picked up. So really doesn't work. .. |
[2013-05-02] A Google User: Poor |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: Nice try! My tablet simply delayed the ambient sounds and then screeched at me until I killed off the app. Perhaps one day when the peocessors get better this concept will work. Thank you for making this application. |
[2013-04-12] A Google User: Fail |
[2013-03-18] A Google User: Fraud Don't install Waste of time |
[2013-02-23] A Google User: Not effective There is about a 1 second delay, making it useless. Would work only if the desired sound is also delayed by the exact same amount and the phase shift is 180 degrees. |
[2013-02-21] A Google User: Two stars for effort, nothing else. Nice idea but it simply doesn't and can't work. Think about the physics: only special purpose headphones work. |
[2013-02-14] A Google User: Make the noise even worst Effectiveness is known as how well the job to be done. For this app, I think it worth a negative effectiveness. Certain degree of talent the programmer must has in order to achieve this. |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: Don't work Don't bother |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: Does the job. Got it so my soaring roommate won't be so loud. Give this thing a couple minutes to sample and wammo! I don't hear him anymore. Woo! |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: No audio. Nice idea. No audio output for me. Start and stop sampling buttons don't seem to do anything. Instructions would be great. |
[2013-01-27] A Google User: Doesn't work Too much lag to allow phase cancellation. |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: Very good Idea i have been waiting for this but It does not work... lots delay... please improve it and I don't mind paying for it if it works.... |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: good idea ..but it doesn't work with current hardware. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Good idea but! Could not get the volume high enough in the headphones to equal the ambient noise. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Junk Not meant for active noise cancellation. Just passive and looped noise |
[2012-12-12] A Google User: Works grat! Awsome! I just wish the deley could be lesser |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Great concept, but Only if it works... |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Worthless Delay was so bad that I heard every noise twice instead of anything being canceled. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Doesn't work |
[2012-11-30] A Google User: Really hoped it would work The delay renders this application useless. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Good idea but doesn’t work Noise Canceller app: I would pay if the app works. It replays the conversation as an echo. It doesn't cancel. the background noise, as I hope for. The developer also mistakes phase shifting with delay adjustment. Adjusting the phase of the output does nothing to the delay. I hope he would let the app sample background noise, and allow delay, phase, and volume adjustment of thr output. I would like to use this to reduce driving noise in a car someday. Thanks. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Useless Takes about 2 seconds to process the sounds, so you just hear an echo of your environment. Neat idea but poorly implemented. |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Doesn't work I tried this app on my Sansung Galaxy S2. It would be better renamed "Noise Echoer". It's useless. And the settings don't do anything. |
[2012-11-02] A Google User: I hope it works someday. It actually does not do any thing :-) real funny. The concept is great, I can understand the technical challenge, but ... |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Does not even come close to working When you want to try to cancel out a sound wave you want it to play the sound right away but this app has about a 2 second delay and not only do you hear the noise you hear it twice. The app also creates it's own white noise. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Good idea. Doesnt work. Too bad it just echoes... |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: It does reduce noise should be developed It works to reduce engine sounds, etc. The delay is a bit of a problem. Right now, it seems to amplify conversations from across a train more than it quiets the noise. |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Too much lag Couldn't keep most non repetitive noises down. |
[2012-10-04] A Google User: Should be called mockingbird app even with good headphones it still was noisy and delayed. Needs much improvement but great idea |
[2012-10-03] A Google User: Not bad if you have to concentrate or sleep It evens out the noise so its not so annoying. kind of squeaky though whereas the ones for airplanes are just white noise. |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: Doesn't work Not sure if its the app's fault or limitations put in place by the os. Either way the result is a useless app. |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Good idea Due to android limitations cause this app cannot generate the invert wave phase at the same time of noise. Thus, it will playback noise sound repeatedly rather than cancel it out. Some improvements would be much appreciate. |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Extremely long delay Completely useless |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: Works as intended Noise cancelers only work on ambient noise (i.e. a constant noise like a fan noise, motor humming, airplane engine, etc)...there is NO device that will cancel random noises fast enough to provide feedback to keep you from hearing them. Everyone giving this software bad reviews doesn't understand what noise cancellation is supposed to do. They are expecting something that is not physically possible. |
[2012-09-08] A Google User: rubbish rubbish |
[2012-08-27] A Google User: Lat is way too big Basicly zero functionality. Over 1 sec. lag. Not recommended. |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Needs work Regardless of the phase chosen, there is a delay of about 4 seconds, so instead of noise cancelling there is an annoying echo. |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: samsung ace not working |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Just causes a echo Does not work |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: The app, it does nothing! |
[2012-07-14] A Google User: Despite the reviews... I tried it anyway, thinking it would help with the noisy bugs in the woods, no go, just made even more noise, I agree with others, it might work on repetitive sounds, if you could adjust the delay to match the cycle. |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: Nothing |
[2012-06-10] A Google User: Does not work. Tested on Android 4 - doesn't work or produce any sound to block back ground noise. Epic fail. |
[2012-05-24] A Google User: Doesn't Work It doesn't seem to use the mic. |
[2012-05-18] A Google User: Great idea - poor implementation. Strange that there is no decent application on market with noise consolation functionality. |
[2012-05-08] A Google User: Great idea Just needs Google's implementation |
[2012-04-28] A Google User: Nice try Delay is way too much, about half a second or so. Useless for noise cancellation. |
[2012-04-11] A Google User: Nice idea... Never going to work without real time dsp |
[2012-03-28] A Google User: Noise repeating This doesn't cancel any noise. On a delay it creates and echo effect, yes in an inverted wave. But since it is delayed there is no cancellation only repetition. |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: Doesn't work It's not the developer's fault that Android doesn't do sound in real time. Still, it doesn't work and you shouldn't download it. |
[2012-03-14] A Google User: Optimus 1 I think there shud be a way to calibarate. |
[2012-03-10] A Google User: Coby Makes no difference what so ever. But would be good if you could get it to work. |
[2012-03-04] A Google User: Meh Does mildly cancel out humming and other constant noises. |
[2012-02-20] A Google User: Good idea Its a really good idea, just a shame that it doesn't actually do anything... LG optimus one |
[2012-02-20] Tom: Good idea Its a really good idea, just a shame that it doesn't actually do anything... LG optimus one |
[2012-02-05] A Google User: FYI Noise cancellation is only effective with constant sounds(I.e, car engine at hey speed, fan). Speech or constantly changing sounds won't work even with the best sound cancellation equipment. There is simply too much processing time required for real world applications. |

[2012-01-27] A Google User: Good idea. I hope delay could be reduced on new gen devices, since the app was launched long time ago. Anyway repetitive sounds could be cencelled by increasing the delay, but need delay control for that. At the moment good for listening behind door conversations. |

[2012-01-13] A Google User: Droid 1 Works as it should. Droid seems a bit slow for real time cancellation but can still take down the hum of a consistent running machine type noise. |

[2011-12-29] A Google User: Android limitation The developer has done their best but Android cant react quickly enough for real time noise cancelling. |
