Network Tools (v. 1.1.6) Разработано Vladimir Kuts |
Basic idea of this app is periodic monitoring of websites, servers, routers, surveillance systems, etc. After a specified period of time the resource is checked, in case of failure user will get a warning. Such control will allow you to respond quickly to encountered problems.
Use system menu to add new resource to monitoring list, select the type and time interval between checks. At any time you can change the settings or manually check for a specific host. The corresponding commands are available on the context menu.
App contains additional tools: whois, ping and traceroute, for diagnosing network problems. For these commands there are implemented lists of previously entered addresses, so user does not need to retype them again.

[2011-08-16] gbyte9: Quite usefull! Nice implementation. |
[2011-08-11] Anthony: Nice concept, needs work. Although checking a single unpingable host is not a problem, there's a high risk of app becoming totally unresponsive during Check All if an unpingable host is in the list. Could use more service checks such as SSL, POP, POPS, IMAP, IMAPS, SMTP, etc., or even custom tests. Looking forward to the next version as, other than the above, this is exactly the app I'm looking for. |

[2011-06-27] Paul: Strong Potential So let's face it. While there are "proper" and "more robust" ways of monitoring critical network resources, this is a great tool for many reasons. As long as the data network that you use is good enough, this is great for monitoring non-critical servers. When there are power issues on the networks your monitor and possibly even at a third party monitoring center (your PC or another data center) this is a viable backup. My only request is for additional services (https, ssh, ftp etc). |
[2011-06-10] Luis: Very Good!!! UI is clean and easy to use, may I suggest just two additions: The ability to name a host (webserver, mailserver, etc.), and a "ping all now" button. |
[2011-06-03] d8nnii: Very good. UI is pleasing with nice icons. Would be even better if dev can add whois and a widget. |
