Save space on your homescreen with this free widget. Use it to clean up or add more applications. It will let you put more then one shortcut in the same space as one icon normally takes up.

You can add applications, shortcuts and some special functions.

*Important*:
To add a Multicon widget on your homescreen, press any blank or empty area and hold down your finger. An "Add to Home screen" window will pop up, from that window, select Widgets. (Full instructions is included, please read if you are unsure how to use this program.)

All permission are used by the special function buttons under "Other".

quirky but works There is a little learning curve to UI. But has advantage to "Small Icons" in that this app allows widgets to be edited after they're created. Judging by date of last update, looks like dev no longer supports app -- which is too bad because there is still room for improvement. For instance, wish had more widget size choices.

Not working with Nexus 4 Android v4.2.2 Simply the instruction "press any blank or empty area and hold down your finger. An "Add to Home screen" window will pop up, from that window, select Widgets" is not valid anymore it seems, as you can't add widget with this method, only from within the app menu. Or is there a workaround?

Great help I love this app. Allows me to have a lot of the things I need on my main screen. One thing I've noticed is that on the Samsung Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile edition) some of the shortcuts (to call someone directly, or text them directly) do not work. They appear on the screen but clicking them doesn't do anything. I'm sure it's something in Samsung's proprietary changes to Android that is causing that, but just to let you know.

Good idea, poor execution DIrect dial widgets don't work for me. After a couple of days, some of the apps i set in the multiicon disappeared and i couldn't reset them.

Awesome but needs an update. Great app but needs an update / bugfix. Every so often it will randomly lose its settings and I am left with the 'Multicon' widget reset back to its defaults and I then have to reassign all the shortcuts. It sucks in that respect but I have been unable to find another app like this.

Recommended. Needs tweaks. Needs a way to make icons slightly larger because they are way too small. The icons are 1/4 the size as shown on the screen captured sample provided. That and provide detailed instruction on how the columns and row settings affect output because it isn't intuitive.

Works well! But... Can make very many tiny shortcuts with this, no system load. However what I'm wanting and why I tried this app: WiFi toggle, data toggle, and GPS toggle all in one widget. Having trouble? Just got an S3. Setup is a little different than the instructions given and how i did it on my last phone. Click on apps on your home screen. Then at the top select widgets. From there you can choose multicon widget and drag and drop to the homescreen. Hope this helps. Great widget.

Nexus 10 After using multiple widgets, it causes the stock launcher to crash and I can't leave the Play Store. Rebooted and installed Apex Launcher. It works now. Great for creating a "dock" type toolbar for the top of my screen.

Good until it fails It worked really good until it malfunctioned on me while I was trying to edit the apps that go into the widget. I restarted my phone to get it to work again but then it failed me again on minute.later. Uninstalled it.

It is good! It is better if your small icon to accept existing widgets as well. Currently it only accept apps, shortcuts and some toggles...

Not using it for what it was meant for, still awesome. I paired this with Widget Window so that I could have a window to launch other windows, then I put a shortcut to this window on Swapps so that I can have a start menu like thing. You can't drag & drop shortcuts, you can't change icons and it only has a max of 3 columns but it's still better than if I didn't have it.

Help Someone help me with this. My gmail is Lts89vbva. i love this app and it was so easy on the g1 the gravity and 4g my touch. But in the galaxy s 3, after carefully reading the directions over and over. And accidentally getting it right a few times, its not doing what its suppose to do. :( not for my tablet I followed the instructions but when I press/hold my finger on empty spaces of my screen, all my tablet asks is if I want to change background picture. Than I tried my own way but the application doesn't appear within the widgets list. What do I do?

Edited after 4.1.2 update Before my Jelly Bean update it was aces (I had it at 4 stars). But after JB, it seemed Multicon was making my homescreen crash. I'd get into an app and then hit the home button and would get an error. Getting back to home was impossible, I'd have to reboot the phone, which would work fine until I launched an app through a multicon widget, and then the homescreen would crash again. I uninstalled and started using a similar app, and haven't had the problem since.

Good but flawed This app does what it says well but is often hard to use. Sometimes when I choose to edit widget it doesn't work. It breaks if I add more than 14 apps so the 1x4 widget doesn't work and I have to restart my phone. Otherwise this is a very good and helpful widget.

Glitch I think multicon is a great product but I am having a serious problem. I have an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 running the most current version ofJelly Bean.Every time I turn off my phone or get on a plane, all of the unique icons I have created disappear. They default back to the basic Android icon and the app becomes unusable. Usually about three days later, for no particular reason I can determine, all of the special icons I previously created return and the program again works fine.
