Magnetic Stud Finder (v. 0.91) Разработано GoldSequence |
Magnetic stud finder app puts an handy stud finder in everyone's pocket at no cost. Even if already having your own stud finder, this app provides a valuable second source. Magnetic stud finder app consists of a customized metal detector with a bubble level view. It can be used for both metal and wood studs. Steel nails/screws are used to fix drywall to the wood studs. Magnetic stud finder finds wood studs by identifying the location of nails and screws. The bubble level is another tool for handyman. The app can also be used as detector for all ferromagnetic objects.
To make the best out of it, it is very important to use this app properly. We provide help within the app. More information is provided in our website www.goldsequence.com. You can also see this instruction video

We have tested this app in multiple buildings with different phones. It works pretty well for drywall if used properly. Even if you cover the drywall with a extra layer of 1/4 inch thick ceramic tile, the app can still work. That being said, the app is not without its limits. This app won't work well if the variation of magnetic field strength becomes too weak to pick up. For example, if you live in a old house with plaster wall and the plaster layer is more than 1/4 inch thick, the app will probably not work well. Even if your house uses drywall, if the size of the drywall screws is too small, it could generate problems for this app. So we agree that this app is not for every house. However, we do believe that it can do good things for many people in many houses.

[2013-08-24] A Google User: Wall stud locator Worked very well on the first try. found all the studs in the wall I was looking for. |
[2013-08-13] A Google User: Handy, but beware. The app description does warn but some people don't seem to take heed: this detects ferromagnetic metals (Iron and Steel most commonly) so if you have brass pins or copper pipes (or lead, but then you have other problems), this WILL NOT find them, so be very aware of that if drilling where there might be pipes. |

[2013-08-04] A Google User: Not to good Not so good for me |

[2013-07-15] A Google User: Saved me at least $15 bucks !!! Wonderful App I was trying to hang a TV and had already made two big holed in the wall without finding the stud .Had given up and was searching online for a electronic stud finder when this app popped up in the search results. Wait a minute! ! This looks interesting, may be worth a try ?? , I thought. Downloaded it onto my note 2 and read some reviews , best way to start is from your power outlet and then yse the 16 inch/ 24inch convention to go sideways after going up along the stud near power outlet. |
[2013-07-13] A Google User: Great little app. Works exactly as stated. Video helpful. Calibration easy. Found nail/wall stud every time. |
[2013-06-30] A Google User: Unbelevably useful for a free app. I am impressed. Needs a bar graph or similar analogue display. |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Not good I opened the app and it immediately went into making my phone vibrate and wouldn't stop even after closing the app. I tried it twice and it did the same thing. |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Knock knock Ap failed even when i went over known studs and sheetrock screws. I had much better luck knocking on the wall. |
[2013-06-21] A Google User: It works Im impressed and was a bit skeptical but works like it says . Just follow directions and take your time. Worked top of phone on note 2 |
[2013-05-24] A Google User: It works It is consistant and acurate, was a little worried about the scam these programs come with like under handed ways of charging you through text messages. So far so good. |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Worked like a charm I needed to hang a heavy mirror. The app quickly located 2 sheet rock screws on the same stud. The sensor went wild when it was over a screw. Picked a point between the two screws. The hanger went right into the stud. Perfect! |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Too many false alarms Always over 200 |
[2013-04-27] A Google User: Doesn't work Went over a known stud where I could see the drywall screws. The app did not puck it up. Verified the drywall screw by hanging a magnet off the wall. I was connected to WiFi so the reference value could be adjusted for my area. no luck. |
[2013-04-03] A Google User: Stunned Working on my bathroom and it found the stud. Takes a couple mins to work well but went from 40 to 260 through dry wall where the stud was at. |
[2013-04-03] A Google User: Not lg Straight talk Couldnt get any metal detector to work on lg straight talk cell..dm looks fun |

[2013-02-26] A Google User: EVO 3d Nice..this app actually works!!! It help me find studs to wall mount my tv..... |
[2013-02-25] A Google User: Great app Other reviewers have a hard time reading and following instructions. With a bit of common sense and this app I was able to mount my kayak racks in my garage with no problem. Thx to this Dev! |
[2013-02-24] A Google User: Doesn't work on HTC ce |
[2013-02-21] A Google User: Very Good This app finds the screws that hold the sheetrock to the studs. It takes patience to use this app but start at about 5-6 feet off the ground and you will find the screw attached to the stud fast. |
[2013-02-19] A Google User: Works well, you need to use your brain a bit. Depending on the depth of the sheetrock and proximity to a screw I generally was looking for the "peak" number and was able to easily locate the stud in my friends wall to hang his television. (I left my normal toolkit at home like an idiot and had to think on the fly.) Good app, did what it needed to as long as you can string one or two coherent thoughts together. Otherwise you probably should just let a professional do the work for you. |
[2013-02-08] A Google User: Does not work :-( does not work |
[2013-02-04] A Google User: Horable It froze several times |

[2013-02-03] A Google User: Doesn't work Absolutely useless |
[2013-01-21] A Google User: Magnetic detector This is so stupid |
[2013-01-16] A Google User: Works for me Did what I expected. You have to see what part of your phone is sensitive to magnetism. On the S3 its on the back where it says "Galaxy SIII" |
[2013-01-16] A Google User: Good metal finder Helped very well with finding a stud in my wall. I was impressed! |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: Does not work Complicated to use! |

[2012-12-11] A Google User: Great Worked really well looking for ceiling joists. Very accurate too. Very surprised! |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Locks my phone Unsure of need for location svc. Then tried app and locked up phone at app startup. Unusable |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: OK. It'll sometimes find nails or other metal objects. It's not great, but can sometimes be useful. But realistically, that's about as good as you'll get out of any did finder app, and almost as good as most real stud finders, which aren't too impressive either. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Didn't work with HTC J. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: No good on my phone It was worth a try but it does not work at all on my Galaxy1. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: This thing sucks it only made my phone vibrate. I had to turn my phone off to use my phone again. Definitely would NOT recommend to anyone. |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Too confusing Cute app but it shouldn't be so difficult to use. U get what u pay for...nothing. Uninstalling asap |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Doesn't work well App doesn't work well with the Samsung galaxy 4g |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Doesn't work Useless |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: Doesn't work I own a stud finder I just wanted to test this app. It doesn't work simple as that. Unless your studs are coated with metal plating or you're actually trying to find a car in your wall its extremely inaccurate. Finding a stud with this app is for lack of a better analogy just like finding a needle in the haystack |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Didn't work very well. Does not seem to function well on the HTC Vivid. |

[2012-09-08] A Google User: Works remarkably well Read the instructions.you are finding screws or nails. Test your phone sensor location following the instructions. Be patient and scan slowly. I was skeptical at first but it works great on my Droid Razr Max |

[2012-06-28] A Google User: Droid x2 doesn't work Detects screw in hand, not in a wall, even exposed. Doesn't detect wood, its not sonar, that's not possible. |
[2012-06-22] A Google User: Amazing This app blew My mind. It works perfectly. Wow! |
[2012-06-18] A Google User: Evo 4g I had to expose the screw to make it work. This would not work in serious construction. At least not with my phone. |
[2012-06-16] A Google User: Worked great getting this app was great. I was mounting a tv in my bedroom and realized I forgot to get a stud finder. On a whim I checked the play store and there it was. saved me a trip to lowes. thanks |
[2012-06-14] A Google User: Crap It found one stud in my whole house |
[2012-06-08] A Google User: How it should work When it comes to stud finding, to my knowledge no stud finder locates wood. They're essentially metal detectors detecting drywall screws, which in turn reveals Stud locations. |
[2012-06-04] A Google User: htc thunderbolt this will not find studs with this phone the measure of what is level or not leveled works great but the stud finder does not work at all on the htc thunderbolt. Great concept others report works great on their phone |

[2012-05-30] A Google User: Wood It explicitly states that it does detect wood, I haven't found that it does. |
[2012-05-25] A Google User: Terrible. Just vibrated the whole time, even after I closed and killed the app. Had to uninstall immediately. |
[2012-05-25] A Google User: works its not a wood stud finder so it absolutely does what is says (finds metal) |
[2012-05-20] A Google User: Not 4 me |

[2012-04-22] A Google User: Perfect Works great. Followed the directions, and also for a test I used it on a known stud in my wall. Then I used it to locate another stud for a project. Worked perfectly! |
[2012-04-20] A Google User: Gagan So so bt its working |
[2012-04-15] A Google User: well, it works. I used it again today. it does what it claims to do, at least on my HTC wildfire s, and it is easy to use, so that's 5 stars from me |
[2012-04-07] A Google User: Wow This is soooo dumb and stupid |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: Interesting. Worked enough to confirm what we thought. |
[2012-03-18] A Google User: Not a wooden stud finder For everyone complaining that the app doesn't find wooden studs, take a moment and read the name. However, I used it while hanging curtains to make sure I wasn't about to hit a metal joist when I tried to drill into the drywall and it worked fantastically! It easily identified the joist I had already hit (hence the download) and helped me know where it was safe to drill. Great app! |
[2012-03-15] A Google User: Bad app Does not work on samsung epic |
[2012-02-26] A Google User: Just kept vibrating Said everything was magnetic |
