Localized Apps (v. 1.2.0) Разработано Thiago Rosa |
This app allows you to create shortcuts and choose which language each shortcut will use.
Extremely useful for people who like to use the phone in english and want to use a specific app on another language!
EXAMPLE: android system in english and run google maps in portuguese
Using a localized shortcut is slower because it has to change the language and then change it back after exiting the app. Please be patient!
The localization depends on the 3rd party app, this app will not translate it!
Android does not have support to launch applications on different languages. The workaround is to change the system language during the app execution.
You should use ISO639 languages (en, pt, fr, es, de, it, etc) and ISO3166 countries (US, BR, FR, ES, DE, IT, etc).
ATTENTION: Navigon is not working with this app. If you are a navigon user, please contact me so I can fix it on future versions!
Keywords: localization, l10n, internationalization, i18n, language, country, translation, idiom

[2011-12-19] Quincy: Not work for Google sky map. Change system setting can change language of Google sky map but no change for Localized Apps. |

[2011-08-28] Clemens: works great, 1 flaw I use it to start Navigon in DE to get the street name pronunciation right. As long as you stay in Navigon, this works fine. But if you use the app button to start e.g. the phone app, it will restart the launcher in DE (I want it to remain in EN). Still 4/5 as it seems to be the only way to teach Navigon German, witout switching the whole device to German. |

[2011-08-03] Ilya: Idea is nice Idea is nice, but for some reason this app does not change the language back to English after exiting an app, I have to do it manually. |

[2011-07-30] Leon: Navigation, Maps and Millennium Bank apps are still crushing while trying to start in polish (pl) but the idea is perfect. Crossing my fingers for upd |

[2011-07-28] Gilles: Great idea! I was looking for this, as I prefer my Android OS to be in English but like to have some apps running in French (my mother tongue). Works for some apps, but not for all. for instance, Navigation (part of Google Maps) crashes when using a "Localized Apps" shortcut. |
