[Caution]
This application is compatible only with LG Smart TVs which are released in 2011. Application("LG TV Remote") for smart TV Models released in 2012(not listed in supported models) has been uploaded.

When a smart phone and LG TV are connected via router, after a simple pairing process, LG TV may be controlled conveniently with the smart phone similar to a regular or a Magic Motion remote controller.

[Network Settings on TV]
- To get started, connect your LG TV through wired/wireless router to TV LAN port.
- Go to Home Dash Board [SETUP] -> [NETWORK] -> Configure settings in [Network Setting].

[Network Settings on Android Phone]
- [Settings] -> Configure Settings in [Wireless & networks].

** Please ensure that the Smart Phone is connected to the same network as that of your LG TV.

[Main Features]
VOL/CH: Change volume or channel.
Touchpad: Control pointer on TV by touching the touchpad screen on a smart phone.
Button: Use direction keys to navigate TV menus or to control media playback.
Setting: Connect TV, edit TV name, touchpad sensitivity, set vibration or sound effects.
Mute for incoming call: Mutes TV for incoming call.
My CH: Manage My channel list in smart phone.

Great! It works with my LG 5700 TA 3D LED TV. The Magic Motion remote controller for the TV got damaged, but now I have an alternative.

Doesn't work with 5 GHz band routers I have a dual band router. Works okay in 2.4 GHz kinda buggy but eventually works. But in 5 GHz mode it doesn't connect to the TV. Back to the drawing board LG.

Update provides useless junk Worked fine before now won't even find my LG TV on the network. Honestly do you guys even check these apps before you send out an update? If you would just provide a way to manually enter the TVs IP address then everything will be just fine. I know it's this poorly written app because everything else in my system that uses a remote app works perfectly. If I could give it zero stars I would. Update 8/8/2013 if I reset the TV it will connect but fails again when the TV is turned off/on. EPIC FAIL!

it works once you get past the pairing mode I drilled through the users manual on my 55LW5600 and searched the web only to find nothing. I finally began entering bogus pairing numbers out of frustration when all of a sudden, the actual pairing number popped up on the bottom right hand corner of tv screen on my LG. after entering the correct pairing number into the app, it synchs right up. Honestly, after playing around, I find this app pretty useless for my needs. I use ATT Uverse & a Bose Sound System. The only time I would need this app is to switch from the BluRay back to ATT Uverse and vice versa. Although this app really doesn't fit my needs, I still give it 5 out of 5 stars because it works exactly how it says it works and does it well.

Missed opportunity The single biggest reason to get an app to control the tv from a tablet is to take advantage of the tablet keyboard to write into text input box, which is maddeningly slow using the regular remote. Sadly, this app doesn't do that for some reason, reducing the app usefulness to just about nil. Other than that it work fine on my TV.

Acer Iconia B1 Unfortunately this does not work with my 2012 LG 42LM620S but the original LG TV Remote does. Another issue to watch out for is to make sure that you have a proper wireless network setup and your TV is connected to the network via WiFi and if your TV isn't equipped, buy the LG WiFi dongle. You can pick up one on Amazon or Ebay at a reasonable price. The final connection option is via network cable if you have wired capability. So answer is if it doesn't work, try all versions. I am going to state the obvious rule of thumb, no, RJ45 LAN socket (required to be connected to your wireless hub directly or by network), no WiFi, not compatible with the LG dongle and no USB it won't work at all.

Update killed it - Inspire 4G When I first installed this app on my Inspire 4G, it worked perfectly! Then there was an update a few months ago, and it stopped recognizing the TV. I tried a re-install, but it still does not work. Maybe it will work when I get a new phone.

Pairing key problem I have got 47lw5500t model but no pairing key pop up occurred.... the only solution is to switch to HMDI mode (even if you do not have any HDMI device connected) and search again from Android device. It worked perfectly for me.

App works but one Caveat Honestly this works quite well and is very useful, however one issue with it regards my TV itself. It seems as if you need to conduct a network test before attempting to connect with the phone application. Scanning before doing so yields no results, but scanning after a network test has the application successfully connecting to the phone.
