Need to keep score for a game? Throw away the pen and paper!
KeepScore is a free and open-source score keeper that can be used with any points-based game, from cribbage to Carcassonne. I'm a big board gamer, so I wrote it to help me and my friends when we play games together.
Features:
- Automatically saves scores as you go
- Shows a complete scoring history of every game
- History automatically updates after 10 seconds (configurable)
- Keeps the screen awake
- Supports 2-8 players
- Saves multiple games
- Long-press on a button to add/subtract different values
- Configure the add/subtract buttons
- Add/edit/remove players during play
- Backup/restore to SD card
Enjoy!

[2013-10-14] A Google User: Great app Does exactly as advertised |
[2013-09-30] A Google User: Mst hain Mst hain |
[2013-09-29] A Google User: Best! Love this. One thing I would like added would be a widget. |
[2013-09-28] A Google User: Excellent App! Just what I was looking for! |
[2013-09-20] A Google User: coefficient Hi, I think this is the best score keeper i have tested (>20). The one thing i am missing here is the coefficient for the user. I am participating in the 3d archery tournaments and we have coefficients here. Lets say i am (man) shooting with longbow so my coefficient should by multiply by 1.18, my wife also longbow, so shes coefficient 1.41 because of woman. My friend shooting with olympic bow, his coefficient - 1, some compound bows - 0.72 or something. Is it available to request you to add coefficient functionality to this app? Thanks a lot for great app! |
[2013-09-20] A Google User: Portrait mode By far the best scoring app but let down badly by forcing me to use landscape mode. I have rotation disabled for a reason- I expect it to be honoured. |
[2013-09-13] A Google User: Hell! It stopped working on Nook! At all! This moved from TOTALLY COOL to nothing. Come on, what is the purpose of keeping score on a non e-ink device? It drains battery life as a bit**, to keep the screen lit all the time. This on e-ink is total awesomeness. But it stopped working on Nook simple touch with latest update! I just fire it up, bang! closed. Please fix! |
[2013-09-04] A Google User: Supercool! |
[2013-08-31] A Google User: Fuuuun |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: All feature I would expect. |
[2013-08-09] A Google User: Great app Use it for Volleyball |
[2013-08-09] A Google User: Best scoring app I've found Works for everything I've needed it for so far. Portrait mode would be nice though. As would allowing for more than 8 player (maybe in a scrollable list) and having access to the sort by score button on the main screen instead of the edit players area. But all in all, great app! |
[2013-08-05] A Google User: Need timed scoring Awesome app, especially the graph part. :) I think that in games like Carcasonne or Kingsburg (or even 5-player Spades with a rotating dealer), when the score is not entered in turns but gradually throughout the game, the graph fails cause it only takes scores in 'turns'. Would be nice to have a time-based graph for such games. |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: Frank Great app to keep score. We use it to keep track of a card game called moonshot euchre. But what would make this app great is if it could keep track of the dealer also. Thanks |
[2013-07-07] A Google User: Works great! I love this app! We customize it to fit the different games we play and it's so easy! |
[2013-06-03] A Google User: Best of its kind My wishes are: Option for automatic reorder by score. Option to add thumbnails next to player names. Option for zany sound effects for little kids. Allow more than 8 players. I want to use this app in my classroom. I'll pay decently if you can build me this. This app is the best in its league. I've tried a dozen others and this is the closest to what I want. |
[2013-06-02] A Google User: just amazing it has the possibility of keep the score for almost any game that I know... |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Great but Unable to subtract a score. Otherwise really great! |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Easy to use, does what it says very well. This app is great. It's simple to use, has enough options to tailor scoring to your needs and great it saves results. Been using the app for well over a year now after trying a few. Well done. |
[2013-05-16] A Google User: Does what it says Good with no ads |
[2013-05-09] A Google User: Score Best score keeper ever! |
[2013-04-21] A Google User: Wonderful This app is simple to use, full of features, and it looks great. |
[2013-04-20] A Google User: Well done Pretty intuitive... don't really like the navigation... Once in a game back should go to the menu... |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: Little harder every time i signifies minus, the results remain positive, please fixing... |
[2013-03-03] A Google User: What i needed I needed an app thatwould score three player mahjong and keep a large over all score in big numbers but also show the score history and an over all total to be sure the scorewas ballanced. The time delay for adding the current score to the history was a great idea. And no ugly adds |
[2013-02-19] A Google User: Good app |
[2013-02-17] A Google User: Easy to use Simplicity. Excellent app. |
[2013-02-02] A Google User: Cool This is a cool little app. The only change I would make is being able to tell it the round is over. Need to take into account for children miscounting. :- |
[2013-01-21] A Google User: Minor issue When entering a score bigger than 99, the last digit jumps on the next line. Other than that, very nice app. |
[2013-01-15] A Google User: Does what it says This app is great for keeping scores in games and tracking counts of things. Very useful for D&D, board less cribbage, and survey data collection! |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Great app. Would pay money I just wish it supported more than 8 players. But in that situation you can just use 2 devices. Must have for game nights. |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Great App, Love it! iPad version? I love this app! I use it all the time. I'm hoping you create an iPad version too. The alternatives in the Apple Store all suck!!! |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Well done Best scoring app I've found. Really excellent. |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Great scoring app! Love the flexibility in scoring options and looking forward to new versions with even more customizations. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: great, and hopefully improves further Works great, but I wish you could manually mark the end of rounds -- it doesn't keep track of rounds very well for some reason (I'm using it for Farkle). Still, it's the best Farkle scoring app I've found! |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Great counter I especially like how I can count eight things at the same time. |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Better than paper I like that it saves scores and the graphs are cool too! |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Perfect score sheet Not only good but also open source. Thanks! |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Chance to lose score values Wonderful app but be careful if you want to multitask or turn off your phone, there is apparently a risk that all the scores will reset. 5 stars other than that. |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Great It works great, but the number of players are low. I think it should be around 20. I727 |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: EXCELLENT Very customizable. If someome scores a massive unusual number, you can enter it as a custom number. Even adds a line graph chart so you can track eveyone's progress over time. |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: Ics style please Please update so that the buttons look like ics style on ics. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Useful Very nice - another request for "game name" feature. |
[2012-11-18] A Google User: Good but not perfect Pretty good and simple app. I would very much like the possibility of having the name of the game before the name of the players so you know what score was related to what. Basically a simple way to keep track of who won at what game would make this app perfect. |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Awesome Thanks what a great app, needed a cribbage board whilst on holiday and this has done the job perfectly. Have to say my friend was disappointed not to find it on his iPhone. |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Perfect! Perfect, simple, open source. |
[2012-10-22] A Google User: Love the app It's nearly perfect. It's a really handy tool for keeping score, but I wish it handled large numbers better (the text size doesn't shrink so numbers over 10000 get cut off). Definitely a handy score keeping tool that's worth having on your phone for game night! |
[2012-10-22] A Google User: Excellent Great for dominoes! |
[2012-10-22] A Google User: Awesome! Great features so far! Keep up the development! A per game history would be awesome! |
[2012-10-18] A Google User: Awesome...just 2 things I love this app...if I was able to put a title for the game I play, that would be awesome. I can see the names and score, I just play different games with this app. It would be fun to look back and easily remember what game I played and what the score was. The second thing is perhaps a place to manually place a new score in after you've gone a couple of rounds...like, if I realized I need to edit a score from round 2, but we are already on round 4, I can't easily go back and change that with the current app. Thanks for the app...it's great. |
[2012-10-07] A Google User: Very good |
[2012-10-05] A Google User: A Plus |
[2012-10-03] A Google User: Use every day Brill score card, cud use a manual end round button due to games lk cribbage! This wud make graph analysis more accurate for unequal scoring opportunity games! |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Can't think of any ways to get better Thanks for this application, it has been so helpful when keeping score through games of pretty much everything. Scrabble being the priority. If you guys can think of a better way to keep the score, I'm all ears, but until then, good job |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Awesome Best score card app I've used. |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: An actual replacement for paper This is the first score app that hasn't made me pine for a piece of paper to replace it. The automatic save system is excellent. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Perfect card game score keeper I tried seven or eight free score keeper apps, for use when playing Quiddler, hearts, etc. I looked closely at the paid apps too. Nothing did exactly what I wanted, simply and straightforwardly, until this app. Letting you save scores for multi-session epics is a great extra. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: FAB app Neat app, fulfills it's function perfectly |
[2012-09-05] A Google User: Useful Thank you for keeping it simple and not cluttering the interface, which most android apps do. "Featureless" is not a bad quality (fellow app dev :) ) I use this all the time when we play 14.1 straight pool |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Great! Great little program for gin, cribbage, and any game that keeps a running tally! |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Great way of keeping score The mechanism for keeping score was great. |
[2012-08-26] A Google User: Very good. I tried various other apps but nothing seemed just right until I found this. Recommended. |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Add a graph showing each turn! Brilliant app! Ideas: --Allow scores to be corrected if put in wrongly --Make a graph of players' scores VS # OF TURNS. (not time!!) (the first one is necessary for the second to work correctly) |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Scorekeeper Like that you can put in positive & negative scores .it totals teams quickly |
[2012-08-04] A Google User: Awesome Very good! |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Great with one suggestion Could use a timer for some games so I don't have to run two apps. |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Nice clean and easy Perfectly fits the need. A nice addional feature could be an upload to some sort of the remote server. |
[2012-07-17] A Google User: Lost score when the phone rang |
[2012-07-13] A Google User: Impressive. Love this app. It is excellent in score keeping. |
[2012-07-12] A Google User: Best score keeping app! I'm the type to try 6 or 7 apps like one another and this was the only app that was universally useful for keeping score to play gin rummy, dice game 10,000, darts and others. The UI is simple yet nicely designed and helps you keep score with one tap. Easily customizable too. Great job to the developers! |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: Works great Does everything I want it to do. Plus other things I didn't know I wanted. |
[2012-07-05] A Google User: well made The layout is nice |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Cornhole Scorekeeper Set the buttons to -3 -1 1 3 and you have a very handy way to keep cornhole scores. Also like the round tallies. |
[2012-06-25] A Google User: Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. |
[2012-06-23] A Google User: Quick Entering new scores is faster than the other score keeping apps. |
[2012-06-17] A Google User: Awsome Great...perfect...exceptional the only thing it needs a -(n) compatable buttons on the bottom |
[2012-06-09] A Google User: Perfect I love it. No more searching for paper and pencil. |
[2012-06-05] A Google User: 45s? For those who play 45s this is perfect for keeping score. Just wish u could count by 5s with more than 2 ppl. |
[2012-06-02] A Google User: Does exactly what it say it does. |
[2012-05-29] A Google User: Excellent Multiple tally counter all on one screen and you can enter names, perfect. |
[2012-05-29] A Google User: Useful The only thing I would add is the ability to set the point value for a win. For example cribbage games are to 121. Pitch, spades, and hearts all have different win values based on house rules. This feature is all that is needed to earn a fifth star. |
[2012-05-20] A Google User: Great job Very simple interface, it's all I need! |
[2012-05-19] A Google User: works very well Works very well, and it's open source... Can't be better ;) |
[2012-04-28] A Google User: Easy Nice and easy ... |
[2012-04-26] A Google User: Nice Just what I needed - and shows round history. No ads, no weird permissions. |
[2012-04-12] A Google User: Simple and effective Does what it says on the tin and does it well. However, the ability to create multiple button value sets and switch between them (for scoring different games) would be worth fifth star! |
[2012-04-11] A Google User: Great app |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: Good Simple, useful. Excellent. |
[2012-03-17] A Google User: Many features and works great for a game of gin rummy! |
[2012-03-15] A Google User: Professional Design Great app! Does exactly what I want. The UI is simple and well designed. One feature that it could benefit from would be the ability to show the average score for specific or all players. |
[2012-03-09] A Google User: I tried 4 different scorecard apps before this one, and this one easily beats everyone else, its even better than i expected, its perfect |
[2012-03-09] A Google User: Nice score app - suggestions Like the base functions. Thanks for landscape on tablet. Suggest a way to keep bid, tricks and round totals all separate with a summary screen. We play Oh Hell so would help. Also would love to be able to update from history screen as tablet has plenty of real estate to spare. Maybe even add a few user configurable score modifiers to make more flexible for many uses. |
[2012-03-07] A Google User: Perfect for Cookie Booths! I used this app to keep track of the cookie flavors being sold at our Girl Scout cookie booth! Every time we use tally marks on paper the count got messed up. Using this app worked great! I loved that it was able to "keep score" for eight different kinds - all the other apps I found only went up to four players. |
[2012-03-03] A Google User: Usin4award4kids. Not game. Need app that i can put kid name n a chekmark or star. This is closes. |
[2012-02-29] A Google User: It works It does what I want it to, what else do I need? |
[2012-02-28] A Google User: Excellent Great app |
[2012-02-28] A Google User: Love it! Best scoring app and it does what it says perfectly. Highly recommended. P.s it also does not take up a lot of space. |
[2012-02-27] A Google User: Does exactly what it says on the tin Perfect little app, fully customizable and saves everything automatically. what more do you need?! |
[2012-02-22] A Google User: Works great on my tablet ASUS Transformer Prime I use it for cribbage and scrabble score keeping. |
[2012-02-16] A Google User: Great app I love it! I like the score history and the ease to add scores. |
