[2012-11-07] A Google User: Won't let you search your root folder. Finds local files OK unless the file you want is in you root folder. You should make an advanced version for people with rooted devices. |

[2012-09-25] A Google User: Fast and precise Works perfectly. This is only one app what I know which searches inside ebooks. Oh, it searches inside archives too. Good. What about InCloud search? Sometime I lost files in clouds too :) |

[2012-07-22] A Google User: Crapp Not responding ... force close / wait / report. Why doesn't that dialog offer an "Uninstall this crapp" option? Also doesn't fit my screen properly. Developer must be a toddler. |

[2012-07-11] A Google User: Finally, a search engine for text INSIDE files Hooray! I am amazed that a Google operation system (for Android phones) does not offer the equivalent of GDS (Google Desktop Search)... The best I had found until this app somehow showed up on my radar was 'aGrep', but this InFileSearch is more complete and has a very freindly interface! It has very reasonable options AND it seems to be blazingly fast. It finds partial strings (e.g., 'resist' for "Resistance"). I haven't tried using wildcards ('?' and '*' would be nice, full regex would be nicer...) My only "high wants' are (1) the text widget for the search string doesn't offer "Select Text" and/or "Select All" and so I have to backspace the entire previous string to enter a new search string; (2) the rich set of choices I am offered to "open" the discovered file that I select does not include my preferred TXT editor, "Jota Text Editor" (also 5 stars, since VIM isn't available;=), however fortunately I can select a file browser (it happens that I have 'ASTRO' installed which shows up near the head of the list), and luckily, ASTRO directly goes to opening the file, asking me a second time for what app to open the file with, and here, fortunately "Jota" is available in the list!=) |
