Hosts Editor (v. 2.4) Разработано Bert Cotton |
** ROOT ACCESS REQUIRED **
Hosts Editor is a way to add, remove or comment out entries in the hosts file. The hosts file allows the user to override an IP address of a specific url. It is convenient when wanting to access computers or servers on a network where the internal NAT may not be working.
Because it does edit the hosts file root permission is required.

[2012-10-14] kcerica: Stop giving 1 star until you've allowed it to gain root permission, if you already granted permission though su- force close it, check your super user app to see if it's in the log & relaunch if that doesn't work clear settings& open it try again (that's what I had to do, after that it works every time. Goes perfect with adfree & other AD blockers that blocks ads using host files. Convenient for deleting URL's you don't want blocked in your hosts file So much easier than editing host file with a basic note editor. I really need a search option tho but it's in ABC order so that helps alot but still alot to go though with so many entries. Even without search option it's definitely the best option I could find. Thanks to the Dev for the update where you removed ads |

[2012-09-04] Ash: Was great But now does not work on my TF201 nor my GS3 both on Jellybean roms. Goes into readonly mode even if it is granted root access. |

[2012-09-01] Kheldar: Nice on ICS but not on JB It worked perfectly on my SIII on ICS. Now on JB even when the root access is granted the problem says it is not :-(. Cannot edit my hosts anymore. |
[2012-08-30] RecoiL: I have root, says I don't. When I open it I get a toast saying it's been granted root but hosts editor tells me I need root and it will be read-only. What? When I try to search, it does not work and just opens the host file again telling me I need root and it's read only.. Again. 1 star because it doesn't work + 1 star for potential and concept. Nexus 7. |
[2012-08-20] Garrett: Galaxy S2 Shostock Worked perfectly. Android commander wasn't working on my new rom, but this did the trick. Will be buying premium mostly to support dev, but also for search and back up options. |

[2012-06-28] einsiol: Nota recognizing root I have approved root access for the app and the system is telling me every time I open the app that it has Superuser access. But the app keeps telling me it needs root access and will work only as Read-only. I'm using CyanogenMod on HTC Desire. |
[2012-06-26] Zyron: Restarts my phone every time Every time the app starts up and reads my host file. It restarts my phone. I am rooted, and I am granting access. |

[2012-02-19] Bruuce84: Great app! The only thing I would add is a search function. That would make it 5 stars for me. |
[2012-02-10] Ribs: Latest version Why does the latest update need my location? UPDATE: thanks for being humble enough to admit your mistake. I'm a dev too and have been tempted by those advertising sdks that can accept a location, unless your app needs location anyway you should steer clear (and even then have an option to not use) . Thanks again. Very handy app. |
[2012-02-09] OnMy2ndGP: DOES IT'S JOB WELL! Look at that, a developer that listens. Permission removed. Bravo! I wouldn't 1* you that anyway. ;-) Droid X |

[2012-01-15] Kage_: It works It works but with large host files its a pain cause there is no search support. |
