Heavens Above (v. 1.1.2) Разработано Preston MobiWare |
This application reveals all iridium flares and satelittes (including international space station and amateur radio satellites) passing by at your location.
An auto-adjusting compass pointing in the direction of the satellite or flare helps you tracing the object.
Notifications can be enabled to warn you whenever a satellite of interest passes by.

[2011-11-18] Landon: Awesome! App works great except for annoyingly bright apps. |
[2011-11-18] James: Best free app i have on my phone! Seen ISS everytime without fail! |
[2011-11-11] XcM: Excellent! Absolutely top-flight app. Never lets me down. |
[2011-11-10] kdevdatta: Too good!! |
[2011-10-25] ben: this app is amazing, I use it all the time. I would pay at least 5 dollars for this, it is that good. EDIT:I now use space junk also that complements |
[2011-10-25] hirak: Good, but runs unneeded service always. I have not chosen it to notify me and yet there is a service running in the background. 5* if that is fixed. |
[2011-10-23] tom: Tommy p This app is awesom I love it the best app on my phone at the moment works really well |
[2011-10-22] jeffy: Very Awesome |
[2011-10-20] Jason: Love this app Great app. Been visiting their web page for years. Would like them to add more satellites to their database. Would like reminders of the chinese space station. Even tried changing generic satellites setting but still won't show the Tiongong1 even though it's brighter than 2. Oh well. Web page still works. |
[2011-10-15] Hey You!: Amazing App I've seen many -8 flares and the ISS because of this app, absolutly awesome! Better presets for inexperienced users would be a plus! Thanks! |
[2011-10-15] Esmail: Magnitude? Wish it would show predicted magnitude for all satellites. |
[2011-10-04] sotiris: 4/5 because i use it for amateur satellites and more than half of them are non-operational. so i need a way to blacklist them... |
[2011-09-26] Adrian: Absolutely fabulous app, I use it every night. |
[2011-09-24] Stephen: Excellent App! Topnotch performance during UARS Satellite Descent. App Server did not fail during UARS event. |
[2011-09-22] vinnie: MY MOST USED APP. SECOND TO NONE! SATALLITE AR APP AND SPACE JUNK AND GOOGLE SKY.ARE ALL IN THE SAME BASKET. G R E A T! |
[2011-09-19] Laura: ;-( This program has helped me see flares, ISS an satellites easily! I would upbgrade if it had a feature to log ur veiwings to HA from ur phone |
[2011-09-19] robert: This app rocks! I get a lot of use from this app and I hope New features are continually added. |
[2011-09-18] walter: H. O. Excellent app..compass appears to not work correctly on milestone 2.2.1 |
[2011-09-15] Curtis: GPS only? Not bad! Wish I could set location without requiring GPS. |
[2011-09-10] srv0: Meh. No uplink freqs/tones/modes. Old/missing amateur satellite info (op status). If flares/objs are your thing its great; but inadequate for ham sat use. |
[2011-09-05] Kyle: Love it One complaint Amazing, notifications get annoying. Set certain magnitude but notification noise plays for any upcoming event. I only want to hear about bright objec |
[2011-08-27] Jiri: Very useful app if you want to know what's that flying above your head. Would appreciate incorporation of Iridium day flares too. |
[2011-08-25] Dubravka: Heaven Excellent. Just what I wanted. |
[2011-08-25] Nadia: Excellent, managed to see the ISS pass over numerous times now. Very impressed. |
[2011-08-18] Sean Arrowsmith: Good but has timing issues Give it 4 stars but it only allows you to select your timezone, so if you are a country with Daylight Saving as here in the UK then the prediction times are incorrect by 1 hours. Tried to raise issue with app writer but his website is no longer in operation. If you can read this App Writer then if you correct for daylight saving then you get 6 stars |
[2011-08-18] buckethead: Ham Easy for any amateur radio operator to track satellites. Just wish I could add a reminder for an upcoming pass easily. |
[2011-08-13] Lyle B: Compass is bang on magnetic north. Don't forget about magnetic declination. It varies depending on your location. The north star (Polaris) is true north, not magnetic north. If you want to check the accuracy of your compass , google - Magnetic declination calculator. This will give you the amount of degrees magnetic north is off from the north star for your location. Example; Vancouver B.C. magnetic declination is 17° 20' East. So my compass should show north as 17 degrees to the east (right) of the north star and it does. It's Bang on ! |
[2011-08-12] Brig: Love it! I had this on my Palm Pilot way back when, so it was neat to find it for my phone. Great app! |
[2011-08-05] Dale: My suggestion would be to add a feature that allows you to pull up instructions & tips how to use this app. They pop up once, then their gone. |
[2011-07-29] Jim: Seems to force close a lot on incredible 2. Still like the app. How about digital notice like 2.4 or brighter? |
[2011-07-29] John: Wow! This is the kind of technology I have been waiting for since I was a kid. Incredible. |
[2011-07-26] Jakub: Great app. but please explain in the description of the app how to get the advertisment free version.thx a lot |
[2011-07-19] Florian: NOAA11 used for GARP between 1978 and 1984... Launched in 1988... duh. |
[2011-07-15] Carlos: Excellent app! There should be an option for AM passes for visible satellites. |
[2011-07-15] Pete...: Downloaded this app. My Calender was wiped of ALL info. Galaxy S, Froyo. |
[2011-07-14] Jennifer: I love this App!! I'm an amateur astronomer and this thing is amazing! It is very well precise and accurate. Thinking of downloading it? I recommend!! |
[2011-07-08] Barry: A top app. ex...A2CAV |
[2011-07-07] Mike: I am a lifelong amateur astronomer and space enthusiast. Made numerous observations of ISS, all shuttle and other spacecraft. This app is great. |
[2011-07-06] heather: This is one of the coolest apps ever!!!! Works perfect, too |
[2011-07-05] Jim: Takes a while too get used to. But a cool app for neeks. |
[2011-07-01] Kathy A.: Love it! Love it! Better than the website. Deducting one star because it needs to be able to be moved to the SD card. |
[2011-07-01] Kyle: Sweet |
[2011-06-29] Toby: Excellent |
[2011-06-29] Michael: Fantastic for gazing. 3 stars because it turns on at odd times and starts alerting. When I'm not going to be sky watching I uninstall it. Please fix |
[2011-06-22] Alex: Excelent. Would be nice to have reminders as well... |
[2011-06-17] the 6/19/2011 Great app saw the ISS last night with it. Could use an option for alarms over certain mag without having to hide the dimmer sats from view. |
[2011-06-16] Carlos Santiso: Badly developed app: Cannot move to SD card. Badly developed app: Cannot move to SD card. Uninstalling it. |
[2011-06-14] Ursu Mare: Fantastic program. Can't buy it, though i would. |
[2011-06-11] Sabot: Takes a little work, but very good on Droid X. Thanks! I see that not many are paying for the no ad version. It's cheap. Let's please help them out! |
[2011-06-10] Michael: Just an amazing app! Works every time I want to see the ISS. The new Google map feature is great! Love it! |
[2011-06-08] Fnord: Needs TLE importing. |
[2011-06-07] Anonymous: Totally love it! But....please could you add daytime iridium flares in the app? Hoping to see my first flare tonight using this app in about T - minus 48 mins and counting! :) |
[2011-06-02] lavan: Lhh so far its wonderful! Exciting! Moto citrus |
[2011-05-27] Arnie: My favorite Android App in the world! I used to observe Iridium flares the old fashioned way... looking up on my PC then trying to figure out which way to look, and how far up. This app is amazing! It uses the built-in compass to show where the flares will take place. The altitude is also very intuitive... if the dot/line is near the edge of the outer circle, look near horizon. If it is near the center point of the circle, look strait up. It is easy to find the right spot to look. Plus night mode displays in all to preserve night vision. |
[2011-05-26] Harry: Super a program Mint rádióamatőr (HA1DAN, www . harry . hu) sokat használom, és nagyon pontos. Gratulálok a fejlesztőknek. |
[2011-05-17] David: Just f'ing awesome!!! A must download! |
[2011-05-16] mathew: Absolutely brilliant, love it, a must have app! |
[2011-05-10] brian: To difficult for me to figure out. Was hoping for something really cool and i never saw a thing |
[2011-05-10] Jeff: Absolutelty amazing! Accurate down to the second! Alerts work perfectly. |
[2011-05-03] think: Its really good...fun...and educational^^ |
[2011-05-01] Steve: App is good...if I lived in Asia...cos that's where it thinks u am, even though timezone is set correctly!! HTC desire |
[2011-04-30] Andyh: Looks v good, but I'm in Europe, the app thinks I'm in NZ. Bug? HTC Desire |
[2011-04-30] NickTheBatMan: Fantastic :-D |
[2011-04-29] Evad: Great app. The one thing I'd like to see improved would be for the compass to compensate for local magnetic declination & point to actual loc of sat. |
[2011-04-29] Ross: I'm with ridgerider. The app thinks I'm on the opposite side of the planet, even if I manually put in my coords. Makes the app useless. Xperia X10 |
[2011-04-28] phil: Looks like it would be quite useful but force closes each time I tried using it on desire hd. Will try again after next update. |
[2011-04-22] Kevin: Excellent! What a well done and fun app! |
[2011-04-10] Antcodd: Would love a feature to set alarm for specific passes. Also a Sky Map style AR view would be nice. |
[2011-04-10] Kevin: Nice, but needs a user filter to hide undesired sats. Hams only need 10 or so. Why no ao-51? |
[2011-04-07] Brian: This is a fantastic app. Get ur sensors calibrated and check ur time have internet connection and the pointer will show u where the satellite is. ;-) |
[2011-03-26] mikey1: WOW! THIS IS GREAT, AMAZING, PERFECT, WONDERFUL, etc., etc., and it REALLY WORKS TOO! THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING IT! |
[2011-03-19] ridgerider: All the passes listed are on the other side of the planet according to the map. Location set thru app. I'm in Delaware and the app gives me Europe |
[2011-03-14] MusicTAP: How about offering selectable 24 hr/12 hr time display options? |
[2011-03-09] Cathy: Just watched the ISS and space shuttle go above me! App was right on. |
[2011-03-09] Ben: SpACE! :D |
[2011-03-09] Ben: Does not find GPS location Desire HD. Really looking forward to trying this app - developer please fix! |
[2011-03-09] Stuart: Wow, it really works used it to spot the space station & then to see an Iridium flare location using desire compass was perfect |
[2011-03-06] Team: Love it! |
[2011-03-06] Paul: Amazing app! My only problem was as fail to read the phone state correctly, ie time setting. I had to manually tell it I was 0 GMT. Otherwise, bril! |
[2011-03-02] Jim: Great app! One issue: I see upcoming Iridium flares for the morning and evening. However, I only see evening satellites listed and not morning passes. |
[2011-03-02] Hentaku: Haven't been able to field test just yet but it looks very promising. Thanks. |
[2011-03-01] google: Great app I've been lookig for satellites but haven't seen one yet - had high hopes for this evening, but the app won't refresh any passes all day. |
[2011-02-28] Dave: I like being able to track AMSAT's and ISS. Good job! |
[2011-02-28] Anthony: Love the app. Want more control on when it runs. Great app, just like the great website. Used it a few times, and would use it more. But it runs *incessantly* even when killed; I don't know how much battery it consumes but for an app that is only of use on clear days/nights in UK, I don't need it to run all the time. Give me clear controls so I can choose whether it runs as a background service or just as a foreground app-on-demand; and when I command it killed I expect it to stay killed. Sadly, uninstalled it to save battery. |
[2011-02-27] John: Great app, thank you. Samung Tab |
[2011-02-26] Chich: vg app. i just wish you could do a search for a specific sat. |
[2011-02-26] Nigel: Brilliant app. Spot on accurate for viewing ISS. |
[2011-02-23] Kirill: It cannot receive coordinates using gsm network :( |
[2011-02-20] Hydra206: Very cool app. Just wish it would compensate for magnetic deviation and compass showed sat's current dir/elev. |
[2011-02-15] RK: Download this! |
[2011-02-13] Chris: Absolutely brilliant! How can anyone moan about the ads, even in night mode, just show some gratitude and pay the measly 84p. Or use offline, DOH !!!! |
[2011-02-11] Tom: Very cool. Shows and warns when coming overhead to your gps position. |
[2011-02-11] Timothy: Correction on my previous review Previously I said I could not get the information on satellites. This is because in the case of satellites the website they are extracted from only provides the satellite information in 12 hour windows. So I changed my rating and agree with Jonathan that the update as well as a bug report and swype features are great. |
[2011-02-10] Jonathan: I LOVE the improvements in the new update! Don't understand the luminosity data for the ARS though. |
[2011-02-09] Oli: Update appears to fix background power issue. Love the new swipe views. |
[2011-02-06] Ross: Can't say enough, it's awesome. Accurate, easy to use. Thank you. How about sync with google sky ????? Pretty please! |
[2011-02-04] daghtus: I would like to see other data from Heavens Above, too. Ads suck badly in night mode, though. :-[ |
[2011-02-02] Anonymous: when i travel in space, helps me avoid space debris!!!! SEXY & HAWT!!!!!!! |
[2011-01-30] Zac: As one user mentioned: having full color (and brightness) ads in night mode defeats the purpose. Also, origin info always runs off screen. |
[2011-01-06] christopher: Good stuff |
