Works great Plus you can choose to trust a computer so that you don't need to enter a code each time on, for example, your home computer, and there's an option to generate 10 spare codes for the times when you don't have your phone available.

A must have app If you care about security this is definitely a must have app. If you are afraid of locking yourself out of Gmail just because you battery is dead or phone stolen, always carry the backup codes with yourself, or store them online at same safe url only you know ;)

Good but could be better It's a great way to secure things. It would be nice if it had a main widget and a lock screen widget enable option. It's kinda cumbersome to unlock the phone and launch the app each time.

No good if 2-step author is already setup If you already have 2-step auth enabled you can't get past the start screen in this app. All I wanted was an app to make generating app specific passwords easy and this app doesn't do it.

Perfect Perfect. I recommend this to everyone I know. I feel safe knowing my email is protected. For those worried about losing your phone, there is a list of numbers can use once (in the settings on your computer) which will allow you to access you email. I keep them in a notebook in case such an incident occurs.

Security is important As my Google account grows in importance, so does my need to protect it. Two step login really helps and with this. Just make sure you follow all the instructions to avoid locking yourself out of your account.

Authenticator does not need to be online to work. Except to update. Good for people with limted data and frugal users. Another must-get free app.

Battery Drain If I open authenticator and forget to close the app in my recent apps drawer, my battery will be drained within a few hours. The app should pause or stop generating when its in the background. Otherwise its a perfect app that does exactly what it says.

Google goof Maybe I'm missing something but I just enabled two step authorization from my PC.. When I went to use my Android device, it could not authenticate, as expected. I then went to google play to download the Google authenticator. Surprise! I couldn't download it because I couldn't login to my Google account!! So it's a chicken and egg problem. Not very smart on googles part. There is no way to sign on to google now from my smart phone except to generate an app specific password, which defeats the purpose.

People are stupid... Some people will never understand until their identity gets stolen (THX PS3). I've been using this thing ever since my acct has been compromised 3yrs ago. Instead of losing my main acct of 13yrs this gives me a good piece of mind. And it works logged access from Russia, China and even France. Blocks it all and ofc I change my pw every month. I and if you lose your phone you can always have authenticator on an old smartphone. LRN2 use properly.

very bad every update lost all the data. This is essential apps, but now when we update "Google Authenticator" to the latest version, every time we lost its accounts data. As a result of that we have to again add all the account. Its horrible. Please fix that issue. Thanks!
