Ghost Commander File Manager (v. 1.40.2) Разработано Ghost Squared |
Ghost Commander is a powerful, dual-panel, customizable, ad-free and donation supported file manager for the Android platform.
Once installed, you can efficiently manage your files, copying and moving them from one panel to another. Open files and folders by simply tapping on the left and select single or multiple items by tapping on the right side, where the size/date info is situated. This method of operating is far more convenient than what is offered by some other file managers, in which you would have to copy/cut items and then navigate to various different folders to paste them - back and forth, again and again.
Besides the basic file manager functions you would expect, Ghost Commander lets you transfer files both to and from FTP servers and Windows network shares (SMB plugin required), plus it can create/extract ZIP archives and view inside them before they're extracted. For advanced users, this file manager also fully supports root (superuser) mode, which is essential to work with critical system files on a rooted phone, change file permission attributes/owners (chmod/chown) and even execute your own shell commands.
As the introduction mentioned, this file manager is very customizable and comes with a lot of useful options in settings which allow you to adjust its appearance and behavior to your personal tastes and habits.
Ghost Commander's features include, but are not limited to:
* multiselect (by tapping, or select all/wildcards via 'Menu > List > Select all')
* thumbnails for picture files
* favorite folders and locations
* calculation of file and folder size
* sorting by name, extension, size or date
* file and folder search (wildcards allowed)
* text editor (built-in or external)
* built-in text and picture viewers
* open files with the default handler, or manually choose
* send files via email, bluetooth and so on
* many personalization options: colors, font size, interface language, custom toolbar, etc
* fully manage files on your SD card and internal memory (if your device is rooted)
* all the standard features you expect: open/create/copy/move and delete files and folders
* Windows network support via an optional SMB plugin
* built-in FTP client: upload to/download from your own site or a public one
* ZIP archive support: create and extract ZIP files, plus view inside without extracting
* root/superuser mode: remount partitions and make changes to critical system files

[2012-04-06] Pablo: This is the greatest file manager ever! Thanks |
[2012-04-05] Venc: Far best filemanager on android platform. Alls good except these things should be done better: -The findfile tool is hidden under Select button, which is not quite ideal. -Favs menu should be sortable (or allow user-defined order). |
[2012-04-01] Delane: Dual Screens ROCK!!! Thanks for making an app that feels this intuitive. The dual screen capability for my tablet makes me feel like I'm using Windows. Equals familiar! The functionality given makes having root access worthwhile & a breeze to use. The 'button' to swap from 'Read-Only' to 'ReWritable' as well as the previously mentioned qualities equals my recommendation! |

[2012-03-04] Igor: An absolute must have Android is unusable without this app the same way as windows without total commander. The most important app on android |
[2012-03-04] Gwan: Good Moved from File Expert. |
[2012-03-04] Argenis: Best file manager I've tried lots and this one is the best and fastest I tried |
[2012-03-02] Cody: AWESOME First, people who say you hve to manually type destinations to move/copy files just do not know how to do it. You have two tabs on top (left and right) click on what file you want in either (lets say, the left for example) hit "move/copy/whatever" then click on the other tab ontop (lets say the right) then go to where you want to put the file and hit "paste" THAT SIMPLE PEOPLE!!!! I have an Asus eepad slider and without this I had to email myself pdfs I wanted to read from my laptop, then download them on my tablet. NOW (since I have a usb drive) I can just plug in my portable hard drive and move/copy whatever files onto my eepad wherever I want! So do not even need an internet connection NOR keep the hard drive plugged in (which can be uncomfortable when reading on the couch or something). So this file manager is really really AWESOME! Perfect for anyone who uses their mobile technology for research or work. |
[2012-03-01] John.: Horribly Slow. I'm not a fan of the 2-panel file manager, but thought I'd give this a try. Unfortunately, it was so slow, it was unusable. It would take minutes to change to the "app-list," or the "root-list," or the "sd-card list"... This is on an HTC EVO 4G Shift, BTW. |
[2012-03-01] Theodore: near full linux file manager |

[2012-02-27] Bizzo: Like viewer But wud like a keyboard with layouts like AZERTY, DVORAK & COLEMAN. An option to randomize the keyboard wud also be great |

[2012-02-21] Pino: Have to manually type in destination folder every time I want to copy/move a file.. Is that a joke?? |
[2012-02-20] elb0wf4ce: @Aditya You don't have to type the destination in manually, just browse to the target folder using the other panel. |
[2012-02-18] Tobin: The only file manager I use. Title says it all. Simple, powerful, and small. |
[2012-02-18] Ian: Works extremely well The instruction page that pops up on your first launch is intimidating but fear not. This is an excellent app and I now wonder how I've gone this long without a good file manager app. Thank you. -Galaxy Nexus |
[2012-02-18] Aditya: Superb app. But I request you to enable browsing of folders for copying or moving. It is tiring to manually type in destination directory each time. |
[2012-02-16] Eric: Best filemanager available |

[2012-02-15] Kristian: The best Awesome file manager. |

[2012-02-06] Jambamkin: Makes other file managers look like toys. Tasks that would be repetitive on other apps took seconds with ghost commander. I think functionality is there I would like to see the UI honed though, holo perhaps? |
[2012-02-06] Daijoubu: Like a pro The other more popular files manager are indeed like toys compared to this one |
[2012-02-06] Jeff: Spot on! I've used this app on multiple phones and ROMs, and it's never disappointed. Rock solid, guys! |
[2012-02-06] Sam: Amazing! Excellent!!! Best app! |
[2012-02-05] danielo: EXCELLENT If you are looking for an awesome file explorer on your tablet to access network shares...this is by far the best. Very fast and stable |
[2012-02-03] williamd33: Fantastic Makes file and app manipulation so much easier |
[2012-02-03] LMB: Basic utility for any hacker Now I can finally edit /etc/hosts. I'd only wish it had NFS support, for those of us, who don't use windows and samba. |
[2012-02-01] ADS: Simple & clean interface. Reliable app. Easy to use. Wonderful app. |
[2012-02-01] James: Xxx Awesome app :-D SEneo |
[2012-01-29] Anthony: Works fine I got this app in order to download and extract zip files...it does exactly that...my only negative remark is that when i extract to my music file exactly the files dont show up in my music player...i have to extract to the default location then manually move the files through the "my files" app on my phone - Samsung Infuse |
[2012-01-27] neilo.: File manager This is really good :-) |
[2012-01-26] Clemens: Was looking for this for ages! Feature: "copy name to clipboard". Sometimes an app wants a file- or directory name, but doesn't let you browse for it, now you paste it from ghost. It has the same features as any other file "manager". Well organized and configurable. It's ADD-FREE donation ware! I'll donate, that's for sure. |
[2012-01-25] Justin: Better Than Most Good file manager without all the bloat of similar apps. If I wanted a task killer, I'd install one (I'm looking at you, Astro). Only complaint: the Move and Copy features should allow browsing instead of typing a path. |
[2012-01-25] AJ: Nice Seems responsive, was a bit slow to respond to folder navigation. |
[2012-01-24] J.B.: Does it all! |
[2012-01-24] floydlloyd: The best filemanager Fabulous as close as you can get to big screen desktop functionality on a little phone and I have "fat finger syndrome" to boot The best filemanager out there. Everything on 1 screen. (source & destination) Easy to make shortcuts. Handles archives well. Samba filesharing support. On and on with the positives ... |
[2012-01-24] Pawel: best for root & samba, but 'CUT' would be nice in addition to '2 panes move'. Shortcuts to files would be great in addition to homescreen folders. Some drag&drop & multitouch action missing. See 'scali commander' Other than that, great app. |
[2012-01-24] rob: Awesome but I'm unsure If I don't have a computer should I wait till I do to root my phone? I don't wanna mess it up cuz its all I got |
[2012-01-24] Sam: Seriously good The interface is very professional looking yet user friendly |
[2012-01-24] Bill Duff: Great app Excellent app |

[2012-01-13] Z: . Lots of fc lately and freezes.. |
[2012-01-12] y: I wish I wish it had a search option too... |
[2012-01-09] Rafal: Shortcuts One thing its missing is ability to make shortcuts to files and folders on home screen (like Astro). Besides that it's perfect FM. |
[2012-01-09] Programatix: Awesome... But would be more awesome if it can open compressed file contents and SMB path without the need to extract them or copy them to local |
[2012-01-08] levi: Awesome File Manager Why pay for root explorer when you can get this for free. This is the best file manager in the market right now. |
[2012-01-07] Moji: How to move my apps from phn memory to SD card in my Sony Ericsson W8?? |
[2012-01-07] Stephan: Perfect! Works perfectly on my Galaxy Nexus! |
[2012-01-06] bklade: Like a ghost commander I manage my files nearly invisible and passing through anything that stands in my way. After years of FC, can't live in a single pane world. Great job! |
[2011-02-11] Adam: The one problem with the droids... is now fixed:D iPhone: 1 Droid: Over 9000!!!!! |
