DS finder helps you to easily monitor the status of your DiskStation on the go, as well as start up the DiskStation remotely. IT professionals can receive important system notifications about their DiskStation instantly, or use it to locate the DiskStation in massive server rooms with the built-in buzzer. If you need to do any troubleshooting, you can email out the DiskStation’s network/storage info directly from the Android device.

With DS finder for Android, you can:
-Search all the DiskStations within the local area network
-Monitor the current status of your DiskStation
-Receive system push notification from DiskStation on the “Favorite” list. (DSM 4.0 is required)
-Locate a DiskStation with its built-in buzzer
-Start up the DiskStation remotely with WOL function
-Email out the DiskStation’s network/storage info directly from your device
-Supports HTTPS for secure connection
-Encrypted login over HTTP without SSL
-All features available with DSM 4.2 and onwards
-Supported on Android 2.1 and onwards

Favorites are hidden while discovery Sometimes my favs dont even show up. Having a large network with diffirent subnets make the auto refresh a pain. Please make a manual refresh button and a disable auto find option. Thanks.

No DiskStation found "Either Wi-Fi is disabled or the search function is not supported on your Android phone." - It says this most of the time, although it's obviously not true, because sometimes it does find the DiskStation, so the search function IS supported on my phone. Update: new version of this app and new version of DSM - still the same problem.

RE: 2 Step Authentication SOLUTION: Open Google Auth App first. Touch and hold your DiskStation code and select " Copy to clipboard". Close Auth App and open DSFinder. Now you can PASTE code into the field without it timing out.

One feature request I would like in this application is to display the full status information instead of just the basic "Repairing" with no info. When the drives are repairing/rebuilding/expanding, it would be nice to view the full % status field that you would see in "Storage Manager" in the DSM.

Decent start, but requires a password every time I might use this except for the fact that it requires me to type a username/password every time. I had hoped that the app would cache whatever credentials it needs so I can quickly take a peek at my DS, but typing passwords on phones will always be a pain.

The excellent apps Synology provides for their network storage devices are reason enough to choose a Synology NAS. The DS Finder app is good.
