The g2 can be rooted. Mine is. Its my first time rooting as well. Yea it unroots if you reboot. But it only takes 2 steps in the phone to root back.

Its not ideal for me it doesnt show any new roms. Rooted mt3g 1.2 running cyanogen 5.0.8.

NOTE: This app has been abandoned because the new CyanogenMod 5.0+ requires DangerSPL which is not safe to do it OTA (On-the-air)

Stopped updating after 4.2.15.1. Get ROM Manager from the market. Its recomended by cyanogen mod. G1

It hasnt been abandoned, support for g1 and magic are temporarily disconued due to the requirement of dangerspl. We are working on a solution
